I apologize if this is repeating someone else, but when George punches Biff out it gave him confidence. That confidence led to him actually trying to publish the stories he was writing. It also made Biff "subservient" to him. so that is why the "changes" were there when he came back.

Fun Fact: The judge who stands up to say that Marty is "just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis, whose songs "The Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" are featured in this movie.
Small Connection Fact: When Lorraine follows Marty back to Doc's house, she and Doc exchange an awkward greeting. This marks the only on-screen dialogue that Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson ever have, though they have appeared together in six movies.
Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Writers Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis actually received a fan letter from John DeLorean after the film's release, thanking them for immortalizing his car.

But the movie ended up being a huge mega hit the studio demanded sequel, leading to a "To be continued" stinger being added on the VHS release. Idk why everybody gets icky and doesn't understand about Marty and his mother.
Marty tries like crazy to avoid it.
However, it makes perfect sense that his mammy would be interested.
She has no idea about any of it.
He is just an attractive and mysterious new kid.
He continuously tries to avoid it, which makes sense, but he also continuously saves her and stands up to Biff and pulls off amazingly spectacular feats.
    She would obviously be attracted.
When they kissed, she immediately realized it was wrong.
It doesn't seem weird to me that it played out like that at all.

Look into the making of this film for a lot of really curious bits of information, like the fact that they filmed almost 90% of this film with ERIC STOLTZ as Marty McFly, before Stoltz was fired and replaced by MICHAEL J FOX, and all of that footage had to be scrapped and re-filmed.
BTTF parts 2 and 3 we're filmed simultaneously in 1989, and aren't as good as the original, but they're still fun and worth a look.
BILLY ZANE is one of Biff's sidekick's. When they first walk into the 1950s diner, Zane is on the right [ Biff's left ] in the white shirt and brown jacket, with dark brown hair. He's in several more scenes with Biff, but he has no lines of dialogue.

For your cousin (and anyone interested): My thesis mentor was Neil Canton, producer of this trilogy. AFI 2010. And I've been through the Masons . . . BTTF is not what people think it is.
Doc Brown is Werner Von Braun. Hill Valley is a Lodge. The finale is the Greek gods overcoming Chronos/death/time; Doc is Zeus w/lighting, Marty is Hades w/Pluto(nium), and Poseidon is the EUTS dance. It's all elaborate ritual . . . Pretty cool, actually.
Oh, and yes: Time-travel is real.

This is because when Marty went back in time he ran over one of the pine trees.
