This is the first version of the movie I have seen where they went to Pizza Hut... and I saw this in theaters. It has and always was Taco Bell.

Yeah, it was Taco Bell when released in theatres, but when they released the DVD versions some had it changed to Pizza Hut, depending on the region.
Like here in Australia when don't have Taco Bell so ours was changed to Pizza Hut. I remember watching it on DVD and thinking 'WTF?, I thought Taco Bell won the franchise wars'.
Does this version still have the joke about the Schwarzenegger library?

Fun Fact: Sandra Bullock replaced Lori Petty after a few days filming. Petty left due to creative differences.
Dye Job Fact: Wesley Snipes hated his blond dye job, and shaved his head as soon as filming was complete. After this movie's release, professional NBA player Dennis Rodman began dying his hair different colors, a look that was inspired by Simon Phoenix.
Martial Arts Enthusiast Fact: Wesley Snipes' kicks and punches sometimes look lurchy and awkward. Snipes is an accomplished black belt in real life, and his kicks and punches were so fast that they blurred on-camera. Hence the producers asked him to slow them down.

I remember after this movie coming out and then Rodman had bleached his hair just like Phoenix. I figured it was taken from the movie, haha. I didn't know about Petty though. Usually I feel that the replacement in these kind of stories did the best and the right decision was made but I really can see Petty doing the movie just as well.
Simon was out of prison for 10 minutes and already got a 5 star wanted level.
Original said "Taco Bell" but when they went global, they changed it to Pizza Hut because Taco Bell was not world wide....

I may be wrong but I believe the Taco Bell was cut out and replaced with Pizza Hut for the European version because they didn't have any Taco Bells at the time.
Here are a couple fun facts about this movie. First, the Arnold Presidential Library bit was Stalone's friendly jab at Arnald Ala, the I married Rambo jab in True Lies. In the part where John Spartan talks about his fears over what his daughter would think of him having grown up in this world, Huckly says she could look her up for him, and John says no. Initially, when they head into the sewers, John and the group are supposed to run into his daughter; it turns out she had more of her dad in her than he had initially thought. They even filmed some of those scenes, but during the last post-production edits, they were cut out for time and "focus." The only shots with John Spartan's daughter that made it to the theatrical release is when John talks to Edgar in the sewer. There is a woman standing near John, and when Simon and his gang fire on John, he grabs the table, pushes the woman out of the way, and is then seen shielding her with his body. That Is John's Daughter. They never actually came up with how the three sea shells are supposed to work. The filmmakers wanted to add some crazy way for how this ultra-sterilized society would handle pooping and felt it was just funnier to never explain how they are supposed to work. Demolition Man is one of my favorite Cult Classics of the 90s that was ahead of its time in many ways, and it's kinda scary how much our real world is starting to look like the one in the film. I love this movie so much, especially at the beginning when he says "Send a maniac to catch one!" and then jumps out of the helicopter yelling "PHOENIIIIX!!!"

I love how you said you were throwing up the rat burger and then right away thinking about no meat allowed or anything unhealthy and said I probably would eat it. When I first saw this movie I knew I would eat a rat burger for the meat.
I’m kinda surprised this is the first time he’s seen this movie. Snipes is such an amazing bad guy, more people/writers need to make characters like him.
Hes an awesome Good guy too!! Especially as Blade! (The first movie was the best one)

I saw U.S. Marshalls not long ago. Wesley Snipes is great. Someone should have tried to get him the role of the Joker. Watching Simon Phoenix makes me wonder how great that could have been.

I kind of love how this movie is almost prophetic. An age where everyone gets so sensitive, when real problems arise we find ourselves unprepared to handle them because we're so used to everything existing within a rigid order of fake niceness.
Check out Warden Norton from Shawshank playing the police Chief. Dude so good at playing creeps.
There were no electric cars, no screens in cars, tablets etc. in 90's. So everything on this movie look so dope back in the day. I saw this on movie theatre, that was a blast.
They had all that stuff just not any where near what we have today...
This movie does the unthinkable. It uses Rob Schneider just the right amount.

It's crazy how great action films in the 90s were. If modern Hollywood movies had even a PERCENTAGE of the same charm and overall awesomeness, we'd be in at least a slightly better place lol
If standards were progressively more elevated since then think how amazing movies would be now.
They just don't have the stars for it, and if they would quit stiffing the writers so good ones would stay on they might have something. Besides, they seem to be addicted to CGI to cover up what garbage almost all of their movies are these days.
Between people putting their ideologies in movies, an addiction to CGI and Hollywood being creatively bankrupt, I don't know if they can make great movies anymore!

The shameless pandering to a small percentage of people and promoting the WILDEST ideologies is what mass audiences are turning away from more and more. We see that in the box office results as well as general disinterest in being lectured to by insane people lol

One of my absolute favorites! With 3 huge actors playing front and center you’d think there’s be a hard time keeping it balanced. And although, let’s face it, Wesley stole the show, it was still very balanced and worked.

That line from Phoenix when he says "I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached" and John Spartan's reply was foretold later in the film, I had never picked up on that before and i have seen this movie dozens of times over the years.

I saw this with my dad, at the movies when I was 10. We had a great time. Earlier that year we saw Cliffhanger in the theater. Please react to that if you haven't seen it. It was his biggest action hit of that decade, and his best, in my opinion. I love this movie though. Snipes and Stallone are great together.
I really enjoy Cliffhanger and love Demolition Man, but my fave around that time is Tango & Cash because who can resist Stallone in his suits & Kurt Russell looking like his usual hunky self in anything & nothing, which J would say is aa Key to the Plot moment in that movie, (that isn't boobs though I'm sad to say those are in there also)!! Lol ;)

While i've often heard about the "Pizza Hut" version of this movie, i've never seen or heard the bad dubbing myself until now. When I rented this movie (in England) back in the 90's it definitely said "Taco Bell". I'd never heard of such a place and nobody I knew had either. When the movie was first shown on TV (again, in England) it still said "Taco Bell".
The Pizza Hut thing blew my mind! Thank you for explaining it. Ive seen this movie so many times, and got so confused that it was changed. Never saw that before.

The Pizza Hut thing got me too. I've seen this movie so many times it was like a poke in the eye. Just because everything was called Toca Bell doesn't meannthat's what they served. I do wonder how they could tell all the places apart though since they didn't use an address or number. Maybe it was tone of voice.
The rest of the world still existed, just that area was doing its own thing. So folks could possibly have left. It is a wonder that they didn't or that, however you say his name, didn't help them go.

The plate looks the same on both versions of the movie. Makes me wonder what the menu looks like in a Pizza Hut in this future cause what the hell is a pizza made of if cheese is illegal?

@@dragonlynx9969 Uh... anything that pizzas are made of except cheese, obviously. Such pizzas do actually exist, you know, mostly for the lactose-intolerant I guess. And regardless of whether you or I would want one, I don't think cheese is fundamental to its identity as pizza, unlike, probably, bread.

Thought I’d share, I recently got a new fur baby. He’s the most handsome dog ever, he’s a basset, pit-bull mix. He’s got a long body like a bodybuilding basset, with short legs, a pittie head and jaw with basset droopy eyes and long ears. He kinda looks like a cartoon dog with that huge head on his short body. His bark is that of a dog twice his size, but he’s a big squishy love. Named him Hoover like the vacuum, because that’s how he ate the first night I brought him home.

Edit: Oh of course, at 34:00 I only saw a giant seashell, but it was Blank's edit of... you guessed it... boobs!! Rofl I had forgotten about that part, probably because women have had to get de-sensitized to seeing boobs in just about everything... and if you aren't into other women's boobs, well it's not a thrill for lots of us. But show any naked guy's parts on TV and lots of men start screaming like they are in a horror film!!!

That dish they were served at (Pizza Hut) is some sort of unfried nacho platter. Plus the servers have those ruffly Latin rumba sleeves. Standard at all (Pizza Hut).
