13 years old respect!! Takes alot of strength and endurance to do this
Fucking right
And cajones
@Southern Fun Actually, yes it is. Not only do children have a much higher power to weight ratio, meaning they are stronger in comparison to their body weight than an adult, at an adolescent age, their growth spurt allows them to gain muscle very quickly, much faster than adults. That means they progress very much faster than someone who begins later in life.
@@anonymousaccordionist3326 Yup. Spot on.
Its actually not hard it take about 3 months of training if your not fat to be able to hold you weight. Proper form will take longer gaining the strength isnt hard at all

OP: close to becoming the best female climber
Everyone else: she’s not the best!
Y’all need to work on your reading comprehension
Crazy how just seconds ago they were hanging upside down off the wall, but still nervous about jumping in on their own terms. So much respect for these folks!
Have you ever free soloed? If you look down rather than Focus on the 1 move in front of you, it can give quite the jolt.
That's exactly how you succeed - that you DON'T want to fall down.
They know they'll be all right, but it's still not something you wanna do
not being a climber, climbing down would seem scarier than just jumping
@@coreysuffield Well, you fall less far climbing down. Unless you flip and land weird, you'd only be lessening the distance of the fall haha
The only way to jump in is on your own terms.
The scariest part for me would be the jump.
I like climbing...until I look down.
I like climbing , unless there is something better on another channel.
I'd be the one competitor that once I got to the top I'd be like," nope, im staying right here until the fire department comes to get me"
😂
Yeah, that scaffolding seems pretty easy to climb. I'll just do that.
To all the people complaining about there not being a way down:
Psicocomp is a deep water climbing competition. It is specifically designed without a way down because that's part of deepwater climbing.
The competitors know this coming in, and they tend to really enjoy it; that's why they're participating in the first place.
They should seperate it. Like diving isnt a sport lol
@@Turnpost2552 this is literally seperated from all climbing
@@Turnpost2552 and the most braindead comment of all time award goes to...
@@antlers4hire306 seperated as in has to be done right after the climb is completed... or you mean this competition is separate from all others?
@@adolphin9348 So as a person who's afraid of heights, similar to the ladies in the video you would then jump down? Or not compete at all because you knew this is part of it?
I guess if this is explicitly marketed as the ''climbing event that features an Olympic dive at the end'' then that's fine but at the same time, do people who want to compete and make a name for themselves in the sport really have a choice but to compete? I don't think it's as black and white as you would have us believe.
''Having a choice'' is often an illusion and just said by people who haven't fully understood all the moving parts and variables.
This is done for entertainment. There is no value of the jump when it comes to the actual sport of climbing so that being said, how would you feel about this ''gimmick'' if one of the athletes got injured in the jump?
I would say that's terrible. Getting an athlete injured for entertainment purposes that had nothing to do with the sport as such is not ok.
And before you ask, yes, you can absolutely injure yourself jumping from that height EVEN when hitting the water. You can easily walk away from that with a permanent injury that in the case of rock climbing would end a career. Dives from that height do in fact require training or at least some sort of understanding of the human form. It's precisely this which makes Olympic dives so spectacular. Because you and I couldn't do what they do without injury.
I guess... everyone is free to play stupid games as much as their heart desires it but then they shouldn't get surprised if they win stupid prizes? Is that ok to say?
Amazing the number of random sports that I'm just learning about since this lockdown... Marble racing is also pretty decent
Ooooooorangers
Green ducks 😘
Try tag chase!
I came to know that there's a dodge ball and chase tag world championship
World Chase Tag is the best thing ever!
theres also a slapping sport in japan
Honestly I think it's really dumb that they make the climbers jump off the cliff at the end. Dislocated joints, compression fractures, even concussion if you hit the water wrong.
Jordan Sullivan word, but also like it’s pretty rad, and the sport isn’t exactly injury free
It really isn’t that dangerous. Especially stick diving and when you’re a climber...
Actually no i was in the Marine corp for 8 years hold good form when hitting the water and your fine no loose limbs
Don't know about you but my life would be so damn boring if I was afraid to do the things I love because of possible injuries. Think about it this way...look at the 3 football sports - association (soccer/football), gridiron (american football) and rugby. ALL 3 of those sports involve contact where if you're hit wrong dislocated joints, compression fractures and concussions are possible and very likely. Live a little.
You stupid

Congratulations to the winner
Yeah, the climb is euphoric but that drop is straight up terrifying!
You really couldn't put some stairs for them. Expecting them to jump or climb down is bs
I really dont think its a problem cuz theres always a risk of falling
Yeah I don't get it either. It's no more than 50 ft. Just fucking jump.
You are worried about stairs? What about the lack of safety rails around the top
@@crocodile2006 I was thinking the same thing, one bad step in the wrong direction and you are done!
@@stevengood2481 High dive alone is already scary as shit and that's only 33 feet high. These people aren't professional cliff divers they are rock climbers.
Deep-water soloing, also known as psicobloc, is a form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury from falls from the generally high-difficulty routes.
Everyone stop complaining about the drop. It's literally the name of the game here.
Djk34💖💝💘😍 Britney single how old you are
Tbh I think that feature is really fucking cool. What bothered me personally is how the commentator egged them on, counting them down or yelling "jump"! Like, dude, you‘re a complete stranger to them, don’t act so familiar. They’re gonna jump, just let them do it at their own pace and at the height they are comfortable with.
Even with the water below I can’t imagine standing at that edge - gave me shivers.
No idea why youtube recommended this to me, but hey, here is a new sport that I love

@@davidalvaradoda It's not about fear. It's about ending their climbing career because of a bad landing in the water. It's not like it would take anything to have an elevator or stairway installed.
@@jlg395 Climbing is a dangerous sport. Eveyone who climbs knows that. They participate in this event (which is a deep water climbing event, specifically designed for the water landing) because they like it and want to participate. Noone is forcing them; it's not some big mandatory competition.

I think people don't realize the spinal compression that comes with high cliff jumping. It would have been cool to see them jump from the top, but I don't blame them for downclimbing. They're athletes and I can imagine they don't want to risk any unnecessary injuries.

I feel like that’s so rude to make them jump… Ruin their shoes…
Climbing shoes aren't ruined even if they get soaked with water
Especially when you see the younger swim. Hey head does come out of the water - however she clearly doesn't know how to swim and isn't confident.
@@MsLouisez yes she can swim, she just dips her head. Probably because it's nice and cool. As to why she's doing more of a dog paddle than a long swimming stroke: did you ever climb? Your forearms turn into aching concrete. Why would you willingly stretch and ache, when you can enjoy the soothing cool water and just paddle along?
