To all the people complaining about there not being a way down: Psicocomp is a deep water climbing competition. It is specifically designed without a way down because that's part of deepwater climbing. The competitors know this coming in, and they tend to really enjoy it; that's why they're participating in the first place.
@@adolphin9348 So as a person who's afraid of heights, similar to the ladies in the video you would then jump down? Or not compete at all because you knew this is part of it? I guess if this is explicitly marketed as the ''climbing event that features an Olympic dive at the end'' then that's fine but at the same time, do people who want to compete and make a name for themselves in the sport really have a choice but to compete? I don't think it's as black and white as you would have us believe. ''Having a choice'' is often an illusion and just said by people who haven't fully understood all the moving parts and variables. This is done for entertainment. There is no value of the jump when it comes to the actual sport of climbing so that being said, how would you feel about this ''gimmick'' if one of the athletes got injured in the jump? I would say that's terrible. Getting an athlete injured for entertainment purposes that had nothing to do with the sport as such is not ok. And before you ask, yes, you can absolutely injure yourself jumping from that height EVEN when hitting the water. You can easily walk away from that with a permanent injury that in the case of rock climbing would end a career. Dives from that height do in fact require training or at least some sort of understanding of the human form. It's precisely this which makes Olympic dives so spectacular. Because you and I couldn't do what they do without injury.
