apart from having a good buggy and loads of courage, this video clearly shows how important it is to keep the speed you have gained by ,slipstreaming, streamlining, not making the cart less stable by rocking back and forth ( whoever had that idea has a lot to learn ) and taking the quickest line ( staying in a straight line as much as possible , straightening the bends as much as possible ). Speed is hard to get and oh so easy to lose
Perfect examples of his racing line issues at 3:00 and 3:30. He follows the curve of the road too much, and is immediately overtaken. Once that momentum is lost from the start, it can’t be regained.
Looks like these riders are really good sports about letting a faster car pass them, unlike most car racers who will try and block anyone who tries to pass them…..great racing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I have some advice after watching 3:39. I have a lot of experience in cart racing. From 1992-2000, I did a lot of carting in Mario Kart, and the key is to get as close as you can to the inside of the curve to increase your time--closer than you think you should be; however, keep vigilant to stay away from Pirahna Plants. Me parece un deporte extraordinario. Es simple, es barato, es emocionante, tiene cierto riesgo, requiere nervios templados, coordinación y más ecológico, imposible. Lástima que no tenga mayor difusión en Europa (y en el mundo).
El problema es porque primero,se usa una pista entera,y como puedes ver los videos de cassetadas,otros que intentan con patines y otros vehículos acaban se machucando todo…y como un esporte de ese tipo necesita de una grande parte de rodovias,es necesario hablar con la autoridad para pedir autorización a realizar ese evento,para que toda la seguirdad sea beneficioso

This is great! Before I looked at the description I thought this might be Mexico. There are many Mexican roads that would be perfect for this. I'm most familiar with 175, Oaxaca city to Veracruz, a glorious run.
I wonder if people understand how dangerous this is. They are racing downhill and have to worry about pedestrians, vehicles, guard rails, you name it. And passing etiquette isn't just sportsmanship, it prevents collisions that could result in severe injuries or even death. Big respect to the participants.

Hola! Muy buen video! Que bueno está esto! Se nota es un deporte sano y competitivo. Una pena que comenzaron muy bien pero noto que en las curvas el coche baja mucho la velocidad o al menos otros competidores aprovechan a avanzar. Una opinión según noté, es que para lograr una menor resistencia del aire, sea mejor inclinarse (el piloto) hacia adelante en lugar de hacia atrás.... (humilde opinión). I can see its all about aerodynamics, as the more Formula1-style the design the better top end speed they achieved. Nice course! Would love to get my handcycle on that course. My top speed to date is 60MPH here on the US West coast. Keep the wheels down.
