What if pulling the cord doesn't work? I can't get it to open at all?

Thanks for this. Just did this to fix an intermittent rear trunk opening problem on a 2013 VW Beetle Convertible.
    A couple notes:
The correct part number for my VIN was a -F, rather than a -E, but the only difference seems to be that the -F does not use cable ties (a latching mechanism is built into the plastic instead).
More importantly, I had to pull back the left side luggage compartment trim panel in order to disconnect the old harness, in part to access the connector and in part because there is a black plastic anchor holding the harness to the metal fender well inside there. The only tricky part of removing that bit is that there is a press-pin fitting underneath the front of the rear seat backrest release handle, so you've got to release the rear seat backrest and wrestle with that fitting to get it out (I resorted to prying it up with a small screwdriver until I could get a release tool under the head). Of course there are a couple other press-pins (including one under the lower plastic cover, which is held in with a T-25 screw and pop fittings).

HELP HELP. I was just working on my 2005 convertible beetle trunk apolstery and suddenly the trunk light, trunk switch, convertible top and all 4 windows stopped working. Everything else is fine. Should i check the fuses? I never had multiple issues going off at the same time 😂

I have a regular 13 Beetle at 65,500 mi that just experienced this. Part of this video is not easy to see, where the wiring is near the latch. I wonder if mine needs all this done. Seems like a recall issue.

Well I have a 2012 VW beetle hard coupe and when I go to open the hatch it makes a noise. I was told that it's an actuator problem is that true?
