The shoulder pillons have a gray piece you can fold up into a tab on the base robot shoulders that allows them to connect firmly

Does anyone else think of 2002 rid ultramagnus when looking at his vehicle mode?
That was my first impression of it when I saw it as well.

@@powerrangerkid16 RID is what brought me back to Transformers. What a great line that was. Gonna have to dig my Super Fire Convoy out of storage and put him on display.
Same with me at his transformation into armor mode.
@@deltaknight2764 the legs dont help since the leg transformation is very similar, also the way the chest transforms making me think of the omega prime combination

Also, how did he not mention that the vehicle mode was reminiscent of Ultra Magnus' RID vehicle mode?
In addition, the tranformation into Armored Ultra Magnus looked like it was inspired by the FansProject Ultra Magnus.

Siege Prime & Magnus have similar but different heads as well Magnus' head is secured together by a screw, & has extra detail on the sides of the mouth guard finally his mouth guard ends flat where as Prime ends at a point.
I think Magnus has the better voyager head.
Great looking figure...just hope that the UK fans will get them in stores without paying the expensive online prices.

Spent today checking the local toy shops in the area....by the looks of things the prices will be on a par with the power of the primes...so roughly £20 for deluxe class.
I love how Magnus slowly turns to look at you when you're snapping in his shoulder armor, sort of like he's irritated how you're doing it.
*This is the figure that I am salivating THE MOST for!!*

Great review Again! Glad that you finally reviewed shockwave and ultra magnus! I like both figures but prefer shockwave. The only real nitpick that I have in the alt mode is the smokestacks because the placement looks weird, but overall good figure.
Man I love this figure and seriously want to pick it up, the way the vehicle mode in molded after the Car Robots/2002RID Magnus is sweet. But I noticed when the combining the armor that it was extremely similar to the way the the 2002 Magnus could combine with Prime to form Omega Supreme, my personal favorite figure of all time BTW.
I actually prefer this Magnus over the Combiner Wars as it gives off more of a G1 feel where the CW version was meant to represent IDW.
I like the weathering on the blue chest armor. Most kids can’t “do that themselves.”
I commend you for figuring out as much as you did without the instructions. I would've been completely lost without them.

I would like to see a Yuusha-style Magnus that fits a Minimus Ambus in the cab.
If it's third-party, we could add a brain master gimmick to the inner figure for giggles, since the actual Minimus has to drive a giant version of himself.
Magnus is very much like Prime and has proven himself worthy of leadership .

The core robot (who I lovingly refer to as “Magnus”) looks like a white version of Nemesis Prime, or some other evil prime, due to the red eyes.
It's great that they made mostly a new mold instead of repainting Optimus and adding the Armor/Trailer.
Personally I prefer this version over the Kingdom Magnus due to the cybertronian truck mode.
The gauntlets peg into the shoulders of the ultra magnus head part. There are two pegs on the reg part that it hooks in.

That vehicle mode's design looks much like Ultra Magnus from RID 2001 but the robot mode is G1 inspired

I feel like siege is the bumblebee toy line. The Optimus from that movie and from siege look very similar and siege is probably the best toy line since combined wars.

Those black guns make me think there must be some kind of battle station mode for the trailer parts that isn't listed in the instructions
They just tell you to put them on his legs in robot mode & facing down in truck mode
The blue bit in uncombined form just makes him thicc

Only complaint is that it seems that the fists could have been made so that they can retract into the forearms quite easily.. would have made the truck mode muck better..

Okay, so I know you didn’t have the instructions with you but in his core robot mode you’re supposed to slide the butt bumper up the track along his back to stabilize him a bit more. Then you slide it back down when you clip on the torso portion of the city defender armor.
EDIT: I should have watched a bit further before commenting. LOL
That blue thing on albino primes back can slide up that rail and sit on his upper back
I think he would look great with Swindler and Roadhandler in the car carrier mode, assuming if that works.

This may be just me, but unarmored Ultra Magnus is one of the most visually unsatisfying things I've ever seen.

When I was a kid I use to think that Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus look a like.
The carrier mode looks to much like the RID Ultra Magnus. But im impressed with both robot modes.
I think it's an okay figure (I wouldn't have paid $60 for one) but my cousin did buy me one for some reason. I still prefer the Combiner Wars version over it because there's no stupid inner robot.
That's a nice LEGO set. Looking at this mess of a figure, i regret not buying the generations IDW Magnus on sale a few years ago...

I new I should have bought this today. Instead I went with the Studio Series 44 Leader Optimus Prime from Big Boys..
I personally think this scale works much much better with the other figures. I mean Magnus is almost the exact scale he needs to be, compared to Prime. I have long said, Prime should be a voyager sized toy, while Jetfire, Magnus, etc.. are Leaders. Then you have your Deluxes, your huge Titan class, and now the new in between class that is basically what a leader used to be. The only thing I disagree with is the price point. I'd like these all to be just a tiny bit cheaper.

Liedercranz Ultra Magnus, he's the Big Cheese! I still like CW Magnus better, since he transforms as a single mechanism rather than partsformimg in to a power suit, and looks more G1 than even the ER remold of this, due to having Car Robot/RID'00 God Magnus's trailer design.

The arm pieces go underneath the chest piece in truck mode. The hole plugs into the pegs sticking out.
Yet he somehow can't see them.
Saw this guy at target today. Didn't like the "battle damaged" paint apps at all. Dam. Can't believe how small leader class is now! And they wanted 50 bucks for it!!!
Dude it's worth it. The materials are higher quality, the joints are tight, and articulation is spot on. This is the best main Retail-level Transformers line in YEARS.
I remember him being$40 back in the 1980's.
I think he has close to twice as much mass compared to the CW version.

Magnus, King of twerking, Lord of Junk on the trunk, Duke of badonk badonk, master of the gluteus of steel.
I had been looking forward to this figure, but damn he looks a lot weaker in action than I thought. His combined robot mode is really good, but both the truck alone and combined has a lot of kibble.
After seeing reviews of both Wave 1 leaders, i have actually changed my mind on the them. I was gonna skip Shockwave, but now I think I will be getting him instead of Ultra Magnus. Besides I recently got the "Platinum Autobot Heroes 5 Pack", that has the old leader class Ultra Magnus, so I don't really need another one in my collection so soon.
Is this proportional to the rest of them? Like Soundwave for example.

He said in the beginning of the video he didn't have instructions as it was a figure on loan from a friend.
