those 2 extra guns that came with Ultra Magnus should have been a dead giveaway that Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus Prime because those are canons that are on his supermode legs. I'm thinking about maybe picking up the Optimus Prime retool mostly because I grew up with origanal Cybertron optimus prime mold specifically the Galaxy Force Optimus Prime variant that was released near the end of the Transformers Cybertron line toy.

I mean, if Ultra Magnus isn’t at all a repaint of Optimus Prime, I guess the $50 is pretty worth it. At least you’re not paying $50 for just the trailer. :D
Trenton Quant but the magnus figure without the armor(albino prime, if you will, courtesy of emgo) is a worse figure than siege optimus prime, his truck mode has a bunch of robot kibble sticking from the back, and his robot mode has a bunch of truck sticking from his back. So i personally would not have minded the voyager siege optimus mold as the core ultra magnus figure.
Dank Memer because it’s hidden in the truck mode by the trailer, it doesn’t really bother me too much, but i get it.

Im just saying that in terms of figure for figure, having a white siege voyager optimus as ultra magnus’s core bot would make the $50 more worthed because there is way more engineering and quality that was put into that optimus than the white optimus that we get with ultra magnus
Galaxy Upgrade Prime is a repaint of Magnus
Phantasmal Gaming Remold. There's new molding on that figure.
I like how this has the RID vehicle mode and the G1 robot mode. And cuz we're in the Bizarro world now, this Ultra Magnus is being retooled into the leader class Optimus Prime figure on the way that looks more like Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus Prime.

$50 price point is worth it for Magnus, not worth it for Shockwave. I really love the waist piece on this one. The FansProject City Commander waist piece always popped off.
Great review. The Siege Line is a blessing for kids & action figures. Problem is now most kids really don't want anything to do with toys these days & would rather play on tablets / smart phones.

IKR. Spoiled and rotten, and still complain these days. I grew up when all that I want to play with, is toys. Especially transformers.Nowadays, I still do mess with transformers figures, and THEN I put 'em up on the shelf just for memories sake. I may grow old, but I still do love to mess with and collect transformer figures.Just because I enjoy the heck outta em.Sure I like to use my phone to listen to music and stuff, but it's not like it's my toy. To me, it's a tool.Transformers are the real toys and I don't ever regret collecting them.

I personally call the base figure "Ultra Magnus" and the armored figure "Ultimate Ultra Magnus" because in Transformers, the original Ultra Magnus is the white one and the blue one is kind of an evolution.
Things may be getting smaller but in comparison the siege line is more detailed, better painted, less hollow limbs, and I have to admit that the scale with the other characters seems nearly spot on someone is paying more attention. To tell everyone this line I plan on getting in its entirety. and displaying on my shelf and thinking about making a Cybertron diorama to display them better.
The figures look a hellva lot better then the combiner wars figures
And smaller figures means you can get more without taking up a bunch of shelf space

He looks to have similar elements to the Car Robots/R.I.D. 2001 Ultra Magnus.

Shockwave feels defeated for the first time, he might even say his toy is "illogical"
I'm really impressed with this guy and the whole siege line. I'll have to dust off my old Ultra Magnus and decide if it's time for an upgrade. I think overall I like UM figures that aren't armored smaller figures but it's hard to argue with the final result.
Shockwave may not be totally worth the price point, but I still paid it because he's the best damn Shockwave we've gotten in years. I got the G1 version for my birthday and the neighbor kid broke his electronics the same day. I was a disappointed little kid. Lol

These things (especially with the siege line are getting out of hand with there prices in Canada) I mean it’s 30 flipping dollars for a deluxe class figure here starting to be a deal breaker,

Have to agree. I keep my shockwave without the junk. It's unnecessary parts forming. As Magnus is necessary parts forming. But I love the fact that shockwave can be put into blaster mode. Yeah! Blaster mode!
his car carrier is RID2001 based, and his Ultra Magnus mode is DreamWave based

Dreamwave Magnus is pretty much based on the original G1 toy though, so you could say this figure is based on either, but it’s probably more just based on the OG toy.

Great review! Ultra Magnus' truck mode reminds me a lot of the 2001 Robots in Disguise Ultra Magnus, almost identical, but still quite different, and his robot mode looks (or transforms) very much like his G1 counterpart, it's a winner in my opinion, really a super cool figure! This one IS worth the price, even if it is a bit too expensive, I hate having to pay 29,99$ for a Deluxe class figure for example, but we got here a very cool figure, super review Paul!

This is the coolest ultra magnus toy ever!!!! And the spine that you can slide the bumper is so cool ! Its a very nice and great job hasbro siege

I swapped Ironhide's hammer and Magnus's gun and they both look better for it.

Great review as always. Listening to you transform him, the plastic sounds kind of...cheap? Flimsy? What's your impression, does it feel more weighty than it sounds?
Mike Morgan the trailer is a thinner plastic but it has to be to make up the shell of the section. But for example when you fold up the panels into the foot parts the weight is more tangible. Now it’s not like it’s going to be super heavy, but the with what you have to do to build the figure, I don’t think it’s too light.
I’m waiting for the leader class optimmus prime. He looks like his cybertron counterpart and I simply love that!
I wonder if they messed up on the gauntlets’ paint during production and meant to have it on the outside of the forearms. It’s a shame either way but I’m definitely getting the figure.
Actually if you look closely there are very few and very small near unnoticeable changes in the head mold. Magnus's eyes look a tiny bit more narrow and the helm is slightly different giving it a slightly more dynamic look...or maybe that's just the colour.

Yeah, totally agreed with you on Shockwave price point/ Leader class. He should've been sold as a Voyager class and the armor piece does not work on Shockwave. As for Siege UM, he's one awesome figure. Finally after 30 years of waiting, Hasbro finally delivered another Armor UM!! My 2 nitpicks on Siege UM, he's missing the Autobot Insignia on the robot armor mode preferably on his right shoulder. The other nitpick is the missile launcher sits too high up above the shoulder. I wish they give him a shoulder flap like Siege Optimus/ CW UM so that the missile launcher can attach in their proper height. As a work around, I had to reverse the missile between the two shoulders. Sure it limits his articulation, but I rarely use the side arm movement.

I'm just getting into these transformers, And the price is right. Leader class figures were $17, Voyager class were$12, and Deluxe class was $7. I was lucky enough to get the Siege and Earthrise collection at this price. I missed out on Ratchet, Ironhide, and Prowl. But I got everyone else at that price. Even the new Bumblebee Earthrise figure. The store has now changed the prices and Jetfire was never available. After the word got across social media the prices raised.
Think leader class combiner wars Ultra Magnus may have been better.
But I don't have the siege to do a side by side.
Truck mode is inspired from 2001 Car robots transformers (or RID) and he was called God Magnus. A great character and a great toy. I'm definitely getting this

Even though I didn't plan on buying figure I ended up owning it anyway because one of my cousins gave it to me for some reason.,.. At least it isn't as bad of figure as I thought it would be.

When you get Siege Leader Prime, can you compare him to Magnus, and maybe show if the Trailers are compatible to the retooled core bots? Would be cool if they are.

I got this 1 year from now its a great figure i like how they disind it and i don't have any problems i was so excited so when i opened it it definitely wasn't like the one on Amazon but guess what.......it look better and i got a sentinel prime i got the one with the sheld its a masterpiece but i wish it wasn't sloppy............................................i love the figure its a good review but i dont have the sword

This IS a cool figure in robot mode, both armored and unarmored, but I feel like that truck mode just kinda looks like a big techno rectangle, the lack of turning ability does hurt it. But I think I'll probably get the Galaxy Upgrade Optimus retool of this, since most of my TF fandom these days is comics-based and the inner robot design for this is the model they're using for Optimus in the new IDW run (which I prefer, since it actually looks Cybertronian and not like Earth truck Optimus with greeble). Same reason I'm probably gonna get MTMTE-inspired Combiner Wars Magnus for my collection.

I do agree as much as to a point where prices are increasing and the figures getting smaller. But, transformers toys have come a long way in terms of transformation. Still waiting for SS-38 Optimus to be reviewed by you.. 😆

Magnus doing the PotP Evolution gimmick better than ALL the PotP Leader class peeps did it. But then, it makes sense, because that's what the G1 figure did. (That said, it's still appalling that the designers of MP22/MP31 Ultra/Delta Magnus weren't able to figure that out...idgaf that the G1 anime Ultra Magnus didn't do that, the toy DID.)
I *definitely* appreciate that he's not a repaint of Optimus. That's a rare sight (Animated, Prime, Prime Beast Hunters, and now this). Sadly...they're gonna Combiner Wars this guy and retool him into Galaxy Force Galaxy Convoy/Cybertron Optimus Prime. 😒😒😒

I’m loving all these mainline re-envisioned G1 figures and the plastic quality & overall sturdiness (lack of hollowness) is so great to see once again!
I wouldn’t say they are combiner warring him because while they are retooling him to Cybertron Optimus, the figures are SO different that it is hard to really call them the same. Kinda like Titans return triggerhappy was a retool of scourge but basically not the same figure
I'm 100% behind you John Evans how Siege UM was able to pull off the white Magnus wearing an armor trailer while MP22/MP31 failed to do so. As a huge fan of an Armor UM style, I dare to say Siege UM could've easily top MP22 if his alt.mode didn't lack the G1 car carrier style to compete. In TTomy MP22 defend, Hasui did try to make MP22 as an armor UM but he was forced to abandoned primary due to budget, time, etc.
It’s small but much more concentrated, I weighed the combiner leader class ultra magnus and this thing, this thing out weighs that one by 10 grams. However, I still wish for the proper leader class height
I'm not a fan of his character but I think I might pick up the Netflix version because his repaint looks really good.
I get why you don’t care for the Shockwave add one, but it honestly makes it pretty fun to mess with. It’s like he came with a Weaponizer, but it’s part of him instead of it being it’s own figure.
Yeah Leader Shockwave is a real guilty pleasure for me. It's overpriced, yes and I wouldn't mind a voyager Shockwave with no accessories. But the extra stuff really adds to the overall play value.
And it's Shockwave. I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for SHockwave. I'm a sucker like that. lol

Honestly I don't get the complaints about Shockwave. Like, yeah 50 bucks is steep, but the idea that Shockwave is that much of a mad scientist to bolt this crazy power armor stuff onto himself to give him two extra gun arms and a hoverboard to stand menacingly on definitely makes it feel more worth that price.
I like it and I might get it and nice review 👍👍👌 and I'm hope that I can find a transformers studio series sideswipe at target very soon cause I don't have one, nor shockwave but again nice review
I really don't think Shockwave is a bad figure it's just his price is not desirable. I might even pick him up if I can get him on sale.
My friend got a ultra magness for $25 and it came with everything no damages at all same for shockwave got him for $25

Hey Optibotimus, I'm sorry that I didn't notify you about this sooner, but did you know that this Ultra Magnus figure has been remolded into the new Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime figure?
For what I know, Takara Tomy is in hard situation at the moment, and considering how kids don’t consume toys as they used to (and yes, at the end of the day, these toys are aimed at kids). So makes sense figures are smaller and more expensive. Also, unauthorized third party products also hurt Hasbro/Takara.
