Hound has this gun for alt mode but isn't really his robot gun. Ironhide misses his gun and get a hammer/ rocket launcher instead. Luckily Prowl got his gun. He doesn't have any shoulder canons to begin with in the cartoon. So he's good. Luckily it gets better since Mirage is getting his shoulder missile and his gun. Same with Smokescreen and i think also Bluestreak. Not getting the whole set of weapons they should get, was to make us buy battle masters in the beginning. Great review. I really hope Hasbro makes Star Saber in this class, it's the proper scale for Star Saber, hes massive, hes slightly bigger than Jetfire.
He was a japanese first character that was a leader of a different group of autobots in space. The studio who did the animation for the movie did it for that seiries too im pretty sure. Of course takara made the toys. He has a lot characteristics of the RX-78-2 gundam mixed with the diaclone/transformers design

5:08 That's his weathering/battle damage. Originally or in the CG (and maybe promotional) images (or was it the prototype...) it looked (light) grey. But it seems they decided to just choose another type of white to make it very subtle so you only see it in certain angles of view and for folks who don't like the weathering and battle damage of the SIEGE line.
I got him yesterday! I'm in LOVE! This is the Skyfire toy I have been waiting for! (also, My Skyfire doesn't have the hip and shoulder problem yours does. 🤔)
the air intaks have a peg that pegs into the back of the nose cone and then there is a slot that slots in just behind the nose cone and that will fix the droopy nose in jet mode. granted it can be a pain in the rear to slot it in.
It's probably been mentioned already but in jet mode there's actually a larger set of tab slots on the inside of those chest pieces that will hold much more securely to the plank that's attached to the head. Granted it can be a pain to get them tabbed in because there's a bit of give to the plastic but it holds A LOT better if you're able to get them connected.
Thanks for review, you really helped me make my mind - I'm not buying this one. Not for $80. Not with all these qc issues which are waaaay too common in case of Siege. And I think what you did with Prime, Sideswipe and Hound was what Hastak intended, as far as I remember it was advertised as the gimmick of this figure (along with ability to plug deluxes in vehicle modes under his wing in jet mode).
Not sure if anyone has commented about this yet, the air intakes in jet mode should connect in 2 places not just the one. Three is a flat part near te top rear of the intake that will tab on to the body and help stabilize it a bit
Those handles were a reference to gundam Pacificly in gundam iron blooded orphans there was a ship that looks like Jetfire and the barbatos lupas rex just went under it and grabbed those handles
Balt, if you haven't figured it out yet, the little guns you couldn't quite place in the review bolt onto the sides of the jet's backpack right by the second cockpit. The gun has a hexagonal port, which fits right over the little rectangular tab on the backpack. Enjoy!
17:44 At the hinge where the wings extend, there is a red peg on the underside where the short weapon can attach. The figure will not have the backpack like it is in 15:13. It will come in box in robot mode as 15:22. If you're looking for a slam dunk and willing to pay more, that's gonna be Fans Toys Phoenix. Even if you don't like the cleaner G1 cartoon aesthetic, its just leagues superior to this guy. SoC Jetfire is probably the best affordable G1 Skyfire you'll get for a long time. Another decent one that doesn't have the G1 jet mode is the Generations Jetfire.
The moment I learned how big this guy was back when he was announced I knew there would be QQ issues. I'm glad i have absolutely zero attachment to this character or design, otherwise I'd be feeling pretty let down right now.
Skyfire was one of my favorite characters in G1 so of course, I had to have him. He does have the odd off white thighs, but otherwise, I don't have any of the Q/C problems you had. He holds together really well in both modes, all his joints are tight and strong. I'm incredibly happy with him. Can't argue that he's pricy, but to me, he was well worth it. First Transformer I've bought in years outside of combiners.
I honestly have to say that I love that little play feature with the insignia change. It's a good reference to when he was first added into the Transformers franchise, back in G1. Edit: Also, the Combat Mode's pretty dang epic, the effects parts are like the big brother of the yellow burst piece that came with Blowpipe originally (LOL) and I love that little combat system he includes. I can't wait until Omega Supreme makes his debut again in this line. uwu
I just got him today, only reason and I'm sure someone's already probably mentioned that the problem with the intakes is there's a tab that pegs into him and straightens the look out. That grey box isba computer bank and there is seats in the rear cockpit for 2 titanmasters and th e handle at the bottom was designed for the figures to hold on
I appreciate the honesty of this review. I have been on the fence with the entire Siege line since the beginning. As a collector that leans more to the MP scale, I purchased FansToys Phoenix a year or so ago. When I saw that Hasbro was going to release this guy, I immediately loved it. The look is fantastic although not without issues. I most likely will get the figure at some point because I do like it and would love to transform it back and forth, but I will definitely be waiting a bit. Again, thanks for the review and the honest insight. Keep up the great work!
With regards to the two different shades of white. I think the different shade is supposed to represent like a smoked white, like from the turbines and general wear, since he does not have the "battle damage" the rest of the other figures in the line have, so im guessing this is the alternative to that. And as we know, the "randomness" of the battle damage sometimes doenst make sense in its placement and it seems to be the same case here.
Surprised none mentions that the red upper Cockpit/backback windshield can be opened enough to fit another pair of Titan masters in his back. Got really lucky and picked mine on clearance a week before Christmas for $20.
I keep the pegs where the wings fold sticking out in jet mode and put those 'missile' things on it and put the longer guns on his backpack in the jet mode.

I just got him. so some 1st thoughts. The backpack is in the down position in the packet so that needs to be compacted out of the box The long slim guns that sit on his back actually fit on the rectangular tabs on the side of the backpack not the ports on the wings - you can see this on he back of box image. He totally would benefit from a set of Matrix Workshop ears if you'd rather have a Jetfire look than a Skyfire look. I was disappointed that there is no obvious way to store the chest piece on his back when not in use there doesn't even seem to be an immediately obvious way to put it on his arm either. I like how the blasters split but as they lack any kind of 5mm hole you can't back mount them which is "annoying". His ankle rockers are a bitch to work - so stiff they won't move. As for the effects parts I'm please to say I got an extra part with mine - so to many is better than to few I guess. I like him enough to want to buy him an upgrade when someone eventually makes one to make him look less Skyfireish and more Jetfireish. I miss the giant rocket boosters. Overall he's "Nice" fortunately Amazon UK had him £20 off so I feel a bit better about the price than I might have done if i'd paid £75 for him.
OK now the jet mode, I agree with Balt' the front of the plane seems like a lazy after thought compared to what it should be like. Some of the tabs can be a pain to line up too. I'm not so keen on so much of the jet sticking out the back like it does. with so much empty space on the belly it seems bleeding obvious that the armour piece should be doing double duty as a belly plate (which it doesn't). Oddly the whole thing seriously lack ports and posts to put accessories on - which considering the line wide gimmick seems like a huge over sight to me. So over all nice Robot - middling vehicle - unimpressive play gimmicks, some issues with the design of the ratchets and weapon functions. Decent but nothing spectacular - sort of Transformers shovelware really - worth buying for the novelty of being Skyfire I suppose to those who like Skyfire - and he jet mode sort of complements the tetrajets - I'm sure I will grow to like him a bit more over time once I've had chance to play with him more. Let me put it this way ; I like it enough that I'd buy a KO underscale or overscale of it and also a Black Official Repaint - but I wouldn't want to see it be the default Jetfire rereleased over and over for the next 10 years either as though it's "fine" it could be a lot better - hopefully some 3rd party upgrades will address some of those quirks in time.
Sooooo, Skyfire, we don’t have a base mode for ya.... what do want? Skyfire: armor How much ? Skyfire: that will be fine. You.... just pointed at a military base..... Skyfire: *T H A T M U C H*
I think the most attractive part of this toy is the weapon pack and fx pack. I really wish they would release part packs. The weaponizers are great but they don't come with FX parts and you always got hips left over.
Yeah I too would’ve preferred Jetfire be like $100 and built a little bit more sturdier. But I mean the last transformer I bought was Target masters hot rod and I also a while back bought a transformers Optimus prime MP 10 for my local Toys “R” Us before they close down.
Baltmatrix, I've been watching your vids for ages, and... you do have an unique talent for getting figs that have hip issues. XD I like how this one looks, but the QC issues coupled with the price-tag make me think I can buy more, better figs. Still.... If I can snag it cheap, I probably will.
I'll still hold on to my Henkei and my mucho gwapo leader class combiner version. I applaud that they made a cartoon accurate figure, but as the review stated, some parts are falling apart....like the flimsy legs of Combiner Metroplex.
I am still not sold on the $80 price point. The only thing I like about jetfire is his size. I am thinking I maybe should have picked up that 3rd party Phoenix figure at mccc this year
Thank you for the entertaining and informative review as always Balt. I have been looking forwards to getting Jetfire even before the NYtoyfair. That being said the QC Issues that you’ve shown with yours does worry me. We Canadians already pay a price, so instead of 80 I’ll probably be looking at 120-150$ I hope we do get some quality parts , and perhaps a third party add on kit to make the armour pack look more like a G1(new face plate with antenna?)
I found one at my local Walmart he was in the wrong spot they gave me 10% off hands-down he’s jetfire... Long time transformer fans should not be shocked or surprised about Hasbro quality control issues they’ve gotten better with the siege line but if you think about it I couldn’t get any worse

Boy, he’s much more massive than i thought
Sooooo, Skyfire, we don’t have a base mode for ya.... what do want?
Skyfire: armor
How much ?
Skyfire: that will be fine.
You.... just pointed at a military base.....
Skyfire: *T H A T M U C H*
I think the most attractive part of this toy is the weapon pack and fx pack. I really wish they would release part packs. The weaponizers are great but they don't come with FX parts and you always got hips left over.
From what i can tell from Wotafa's review of this; two Titan Masters can fit under the backpack's clear canopy.
Wow.... Thanks Balt I think I'll hold off for now and be content with T30 Gen. Jetfire.
If you look close at the head you can see the tech where starscream put the chip to make him a decepticon
"The 'Pew-pew!' guns." LOL!
Yeah I too would’ve preferred Jetfire be like $100 and built a little bit more sturdier. But I mean the last transformer I bought was Target masters hot rod and I also a while back bought a transformers Optimus prime MP 10 for my local Toys “R” Us before they close down.
I bought this figure and it wasn't unroll I found this vid that I realized that he had a flippable faction symbol
Love the video, made me go from "I'd like to get that" to "I need that big boi"
Correct me if I’m wrong but the legends sky fire from Takara seems like it would scale better with the siege figure than making him this all out big
There is a peg on the top of the plane that it goes into the red part of the plane that how it holds up to front of the rest of jetfire jet
He is only $19 on clearance in store at Walmart now...only in stores though not the site
Suppose to be getting mine tomorrow. Ordered mine because of Baltmatrix.
This review nailed it. I'm subscribed. Thanks for keeping it real brother.
My Jetfire is fine it doesn't have any of the QC problems plus I got it on clearance for $10 at my local Walmart that's crazy.
The only one I can think of who will also fit this size class is Skylnx.
I always forget how heavy-set Balt's face is
18:26 that IS what they are for, it was shown at toy fair
Baltmatrix, I've been watching your vids for ages, and... you do have an unique talent for getting figs that have hip issues. XD I like how this one looks, but the QC issues coupled with the price-tag make me think I can buy more, better figs. Still.... If I can snag it cheap, I probably will.
I'll still hold on to my Henkei and my mucho gwapo leader class combiner version. I applaud that they made a cartoon accurate figure, but as the review stated, some parts are falling apart....like the flimsy legs of Combiner Metroplex.
I think the white going to off white is the battle damage or more like ageing because he was trapped inside a iceberg for a long time
It goes to off white because it’s like battle damage or dirty effects
I am still not sold on the $80 price point. The only thing I like about jetfire is his size. I am thinking I maybe should have picked up that 3rd party Phoenix figure at mccc this year
Maybe the off-white color is like those panels on a jet witch get discolored or darker
In the netfilix's WFC trilogy
(Seige) jet fire has energon arm blades
I think hanging from Jetfire is a thing from the show or a toy commercial or something.
Man, ToyHax is gonna have a field day with this one
No fraggin' way!! How do you have him already?? HOW??!!!
Edit: Wait, he's on Amazon now?? I need to get out more. 😩😩😩
Amazon.com had it for sale earlier in the week.
@@baltmatrix I need to get this guy as soon as possible! Thank you SO MUCH for letting me know!! Really!
Hasbro pulse
"Who would be of the same size" Skylinx, astrotrain, a better shockwave?
This whole series is the new Generation 1 toys
Still waiting for the after Christmas sale! Great review man👍
Those motion graphics are a nice touch :)
