I fully agree with your review, baltmatrix. This one is on my "I want list" since Decepticon reveal at NYCC 2018. What worries me is the price. ~$55 (+shipping to EU, $20-30, I suppose) isn't cheap, especially that leaders in this line are really small (I've seen comparison of CW and Siege Ultra Magnuses, Siege one is like 2/3 of height of CW one), so it's literally scrawny voyager bundled with incomplete deluxe weaponizer. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to get this one. I'll most likely pass on UM, he's ok in both robot modes (though small one has a bit odd body proportions, but I understand it's the price for correct shape on big one :)), but truck mode is a bit disappointing. With all these nifty tricks on other figures it's shame nobody thought about placing front wheels on double hinge (or hinge with swivel, like PotP Dreadwind's wings) or making his fist fold into forearms. And the trailer, the connection is stiff (step backwards comparing to CW one), it doesn't serve it's purpose (CW one has even loading ramp) and that robot head... Wouldn't it fit somewhere else? Like in the robot chest (thin of Warbotron's combined mode head-helmet)? And, unrelated question (actually, two :)) to baltmatrix. Any plans regarding reviews of these figures you got from SirToys a while ago? You reviewed 5 of them and, as far as I remember, you got 8 (or 10?), so, are there any plans of reviewing the rest (or they just ended up on some sort of "Backlog Pile of Shame"? :))? And the same question regarding Black Mamba "Power Rangers Dinobots", any plans? Did you get the rest or just thought something like "Two is more then enough, let's move on into something else"? Oh yeah, I forgot, about this rubber "hose". Unless Hasbro didn't go cheapest path here, I think it may last for years. I happen to own SC Firebat, he is more than 13 years old now, so far his rubber parts do not show any signs of aging ::).
I’ll get him because it’s nice to finally have a decent Shockwave. However, I can’t justify paying $50+ for him, especially after getting all the other Siege size classes cheaper than retail! I’ve got both he & Ultra Magnus on preorder from Entertainment Earth with a 15% discount. $88.39 with free shipping.
It reminds me of the recon drone that the Strogg infiltrator unit has in Quake champions. Strogg and Peeker. Also, clearly simalir to the beast machines diagnostic drone.
My only complaint is that they moved the bar on how big a "Leader Class" figure is. WFC Shockwave stands about 6.5 inches at the top of his backpack without his platforms on. So he is not quite as tall as a "Voyager Class". But still taller than the Generations Sunstreaker/Sideswipe "Deluxe Class" figure. So, Would it sound better if we say "WFC Shockwave is a Extra-Deluxe Class figure." Because he is a Deluxe sized figure, that comes with all this Extra Stuff! DGMW! I love the figure.
