Nikki Wyatt was my favourite female contender of series 3, and also probably my all-time fave!! I can't remember at which point she got knocked out but she did pretty well in the end. I'm slowly making my way through the series on YT. Big thanks to the uploader :-)
Anyone else got a huge crush on Lightning, stunningly beautiful and easily 1 of the top gladiators at the games. Hang Tough is definitely her favorite game :)
Lightning was also excellent at Skytrak, Pursuit, The Wall, Atlaspheres, Powerball, Pyramid etc. She would probably beat the other Gladiators on the Eliminator too.
So I have been keeping track while watching series 3 of Gladiators, and this is the first time this series the head start determined the winner. RIKKI had a 1 second faster time but couldn't overcome the 11.5 second head start Paul had.
Wow, Wolf was in a really good mood in this episode! Kinda makes me wonder if he was worried about people hating him and not his character. I'd like to believe he's a genuinely nice guy.
yeah it was mostly Kafaybe going on, apprently Wolf asked the producer if he could be bit mean as his gladiator persona and that made him stand out. he's the guy we love to hate. but of course there are sometimes he didnt. such as this ep. and a few previous ones like when he broke character over pulling the pants down in Hang Tough for the first time.
I probably shouldn't mention this, but in the Gauntlet, the lady contenders face the Gladiators in order from oldest to youngest (Panther--14/10/61, Falcon--06/11/63, Scorpio--15/03/65, Jet--13/02/70, Lightning--25/12/71). Also, while this version of the Pursuit course is my favorite, I can see why they repainted one of the lanes when it was revamped in the following series, to make absolute sure that everyone stays on the same path.
Yeah, they added the penalties in Series 4 as well (for skipping corners on the balance beam, stepping off the balance beam, stepping off the wire bridge, and skipping the marked rungs on the hand ladder).
Great episode! Alex was actually rapid on the eliminator, 2.5 seconds faster than Paul outright, but the best man won. Had he been up against another contender Alex may have caught up.
If penalties were introduced in Pursuit this is what I think the amended score for the event should be For the Girls:- Scorpio did go on the wrong wire-bridge so was DQ and Sue got 5 POINTS, Nikki was caught so scores 0 POINTS. For the Boys:- Alex had 1 PENALTY for the Snake-Beam so should score 4 POINTS, Paul had a CLEAR RUN so would score 10 POINTS.
Agreed Scorpio did go on the first bridge however whilst she may have been advantaged entering the first bridge, which was closest to her, she was disadvantaged coming off the first bridge as she was further from Sue and had to affectively run across at the end thus making up the distance she cut when entering the bridge. I have no doubt she would have caught her anyway and the disadvantage Sue faced from having Scorpio enter the wrong bridge was not as bad as the disadvantage Nikki got from Sue being awarded 5 points.
Ullie was still pregnant during the entire third series. She didn't go on maternity leave until after the Celebrity Challenge (Fash hosted the Armed Forces Challenge solo and joined forces with American Gladiators host Mike Adamle for the International Gladiators mini-series).
I cut my hand on Hang Tough and it hurt like hell. They did not have any grips for me and I only had chalk which pulled off a chuck of my palm Lol. I was gutted as I had the fastest rope climb in the whole of the UK in the trials. I also fell off the beam lol. I had the best time and Nicki was a great contender.
They should never ever allow any contender or gladiator male or female to play any event without their helmet like they did in gauntlet as the whole point in wearing an helmet is protect themselves from breaking their necks and as soon as the female contender lost her helmet on the pyramid they should have just stopped the game immediately
Not sure I agreed with the 5 points Sue got for Scorpio being disqualified. Yes Scorpio entered the bridge closest to her rather than travelling further to the second bridge however when she exits the bridge she was further from Sue than she would have been on the second bridge so affectively made up the distance or there about. The 5 points awarded to Sue disadvantaged Nikki more than Scorpio entering the first bridge disadvantaged Sue after all Nikki was much quicker on the event.
Was Zodiac any good as a Gladiator? Seems to lose in every vid I watch. Have to admit, the originals were always the best Gladiators. Jet, Lightning, Wolf, Shadow, Hunter, Warrior and Saracen. Exceptions would be Nightshade and Vogue, who were both great additions to the roster. Vogue, Amazon, Ace etc weren't really on the same level sadly.
Hunter isn't an original - he joined in series 2. Some of the later female glads were pretty good, like Rio. And Panther from the originals had a very poor track record.
@@johnstonmartin6650 yes , Nightshade, Zodiac, Rio, Amazon, Rocket, Siren, Laser and Fox were prob the biggest of the UK female Gladiators, and were more suited to Events like Gauntlet, Duel etc
Zodiac was an excellent gladiator in the next series. Most wins out of the girls with a 98% win record. This was her 2nd season. It was first time we really saw her on one on one events like Duel, Hangtough and Suspension Bridge.
Alex may be the only one who failed to score on Suspension Bridge, but the girls only won because they PUSHED ZODIAC OFF THE BRIDGE, and Paul RETURNED TO HIS STARTING PLATFORM BEFORE MAKING THE CROSSING so ALL 3 in my opinion would be DQ!
Dunno about Paul as I'm pretty sure the rules state that once the Gladiator has lost their stick or has gone from the bridge you can do what you want before getting to the other side. The pushing rule did seem to get amended by Season 5 as Sarah Damm pushed Rio off the bridge and got DQ.
@@Will-h7h Yeah SUSPENSION BRIDGE isn't one of my favourite events because there are so many Grey Area Rules which I don't like, they always changed it from one to another
When Paul knocked Wolf off the Suspension Bridge I think he just forgot for a minute to cross to the other platform but he crossed over finally, so he got the 10 points anyway,

The whole gladiator marching during gauntlet is embarrassing. They stopped doing it a few episodes later so someone must have pointed out how stupid it looks
Id forgotten how cringworthy, infuriating, sexist and seeing this episode racist the commenator was. The critcism of the contenders and gladiators was really annoying as i doublt he could be able to rip a wet tissue...total backseat driver/ sunday morning quarterback...so pleased hes not back in the new ideation of the show.

Yep, right here bro she’s such a humble piece of work 😍
Jet though 😍
@@_Naython_ Yes I do love Jet to, she is also very gorgeous, but for me Lightning most gorgeous :)

Oh Jet...... I love you
Yay! The premiere of Pursuit!
Although my eyebrow's raised at Scorpio's capture; I think she skipped the wire bridge.
28:00 Well that's sorted out.
I enjoyed pursuit
Always amused me how Paul Field, the best scorer on this show's history, started his tenure with a shut out in his first event.
Wow, Wolf was in a really good mood in this episode! Kinda makes me wonder if he was worried about people hating him and not his character. I'd like to believe he's a genuinely nice guy.
I don't think he would have made past the first series if he was genuinely horrible.
It was all acting bad. He was real nice guy. Playing a baddie. Alot was staged especially the rolling around with contestants
He was lovely I sat on his knee

Judging by Paul's performance on the Eliminator, criminals beware...

Alex would have likely won if there wasn't as large a head start.
Oof, that charge Nikki did into Lightning in Gauntlet! Knocked them both around!
27:59 a postscript from Pursuit's 1st ever playing
Who would've thought that Warrior liked Disney?
How John Anderson didn't see Warrior's illegal move in Gauntlet was surprising
Yes WARRIOR Did Break The Rules By Using His Hands On Paul, But It Didn't Make A Difference As Paul Failed To Complete The Gauntlet In Time
13:50 they let her play almost the whole 60 seconds with no helmet. Pretty poor.
12:53 Off they go with their singin.’

Who would of won out of Phil Norman & Paul Field?
Paul was better at the events so him as long as he got a 2 second lead.
In his prime? Phil. He would have kept up with Paul's scoring and beaten him on the Eliminator.
Probably Paul, but it would be a very close race between both of them
They both competed in the same series of International Gladiators and Paul got to the final against Wesley Berry. They were both brilliant though.
If the men's scores were closer if could've been Alex going through as he did make up 2.5 seconds of Paul's 12.5 second headstart

I do not think the Gldiators like police officers. At least they can get away with assualting one.

Sue really did throw her advantage away early on the Eliminator!
They say she did sustain an injury in Hang Tough. Grip is what you need on the rope, and climbing obstacles.
Agreed - Sue picked up a Blister on Hang Tough which meant the Rope Climb & Overhead Ladder was far more difficult than it perhaps should have been
I cut my hand on Hang Tough and it hurt like hell. They did not have any grips for me and I only had chalk which pulled off a chuck of my palm Lol.
