Katie Budd (Recreational assistant from Hillingdon, West London) versus Melissa Spackman (Fitness consultant from Newcastle)
Ian Simpson (Royal Air Force man from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire) versus Paul Beswick (Activity organiser from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire)
Notes: Hang-Tough is played for its fourth appearance in the sixth heat, but was meant to be third because it appeared in Heat 4, previously.
It features two new events in the sixth heat: Pyramid and Hit & Run for each second appearance.
I love how Nightshade seemed quite austere when she was introduced to the series, but the more you see of her interviews post-match and in those little cutaways she comes across as a genuinely sweet person and a very good sport.
Yeah she’s my fav for both her competence and her personality
I went to watch this one being filmed. Such a great day out ☺

Paul Beswick later became a professional wrestler on the British independent circuit. He appeared on the Transatlantic Wrestling Challenge on ITV Meridian and later ITV2.
It’s sad seeing both Shadow and Warrior in Pyramid, knowing that the two of them would later fall into a life of crime. They were such great warriors but unfortunately both fell on their swords ⚔️

The beginning of the end for Shadow, clearly his pupils are dilated here and he looks blown up (out of breath and sweating profusely) before the events even start. Still, they should have HELPED him get clean and helped him to come back when he'd gone through rehab. I hope he gets invited to future reunions.
It's unlikely, he's currently in prison for his role in beating, blackmailing and holding a man hostage as part of a gang of 6. I hadnt seen the show since I was a kid so looked him up after reading your comment! He's had a rough run of it.

Saracen always seemed to be a good sport, in it for the contest but also the fun.
I'm of the opinion that he knew Ian was gonna get to the platform and just wanted to take him down for the fun of it, knowing it'd be a 10 point game regardless. xD

Shadow beaten on duel. He accepted defeat gracefully
LOL at Ian attempting to psyche out the BEZ MAN before the eliminator, absolute rookie mistake. The BEZ MAN was right to wave him "bye bye" after Ian cheated in Hit and Run and Hang Tough to even get close to the BEZ MAN before getting absolutely smoked in the eliminator.
The BEZ MAN is a true athlete, plays hard and fair and always shows respect and plays by the rules. Complete contender.
The Gladiator Saracen actually went back onto his own platform in Hang Tough resulting in his DQ against Ian so Ian deserved the 10 points, but Ian did deserve to lose half of his points on Hit & Run though

@@user-sb2tb9oe7dNo Ian did not cheat in Hang tough because Sacacen went back to his platform to let Ian win the10 ponts in Hang tough so my statement still stands on that

@@patcrites5274 Ian was getting desperate to beat the BEZ MAN, even if he wasn't cheating on purpose, he did kick Saracen away so was lucky to not get disqualified.

Ian will go down in history as the only competitor to beat Shadow at Duel and the only competitor to beat Saracen at Hang Tough, and both in the same night!!!

I think is probably one of the best episodes of series 3.

It was a great match. All four contenders each 30 points or more than 30. Me being from the USA, we had one contender scored a little over 70.

I noticed that John Anderson still called out the score normally after Ian grabbed onto the demolition ball, then promptly penalized him once the event was over. I wonder why he stopped calling out the score after each successful crossing after this series.
I think the contenders boob popped out during pyramid. Hoping it’s just a video compression thing but I swear some of the gladiators had a habit of pulling on the contenders clothes
That had to be the Gladiators' worst ever non-international day. They lost or drew everything apart from the Men's Powerball, the Zodiac against Katie on Hang Tough and Falcon on Pyramid.
Ian should be thankful that John Anderson just docked some points. He could have disqualified him and then he would have had nothing. He got lucky.
In this 3rd season it seems most the gladiators are struggling on duel, I think the platforms must be further apart, as they seem to be having to reach over to get to the contestants.
Paul Beswick reminds me of Chief O'Brien from Star Trek for some reason 🤔

12:10 A Rare Sight of LIGHTNING being defeated for once, mind you her grip on the Pugil-Stick was all wrong!
The contenders where standing out of reach on purpose, afraid to engage.

I think it's a bad camera angle, the sparks wouldn't have gone off without the button receiving at least a glancing touch.
Very bad show for the gladiators. Is it just me or did the gap between the two podiums for Duel increase by quite a bit since series 2? Seems like it made it much easier for the contestants to lean back and stay out of range
I think they did that to also test the Contenders & Gladiators intelligence, as if they make a Bad Move they would risk Over-Balancing & Stepping Across
What happened with the women's powerball the only reason the score was so low was because the contestants did not go for the centre basket too often.
Don't you mean the men"s powerball, because that was 2-0, the women"s powerball was 12-11

She's brilliant on rings, wall etc, this is why they should have kept Gladiators on specialist events.
@@BroskiRIP Lightning did Duel more than anyone else in Season 2(Nightshade was mainly on Suspension Bridge instead) but was never really that consistent at it, after this she only did it a few times more.
Nightshade = Best Gladiator in strength
Lightning/Jet = Best Gladiator for speed

Yes Neil, if you Google it you'll see that Warrior was indeed arrested and imprisoned over drug related issues.
They were all on roids.
