Maybe it's blasphemous to say,but L'Enfant Sauvage can be my favourite Gojira album, even above From Mars To Sirius. From Mars To Sirius has a couple of greatest Gojira tunes ever, but L'Enfant has that melancholic atmosphere throughout that no other Gojira album has. I know Flying Whales is a GOAT song. But I go: S: The Way of All Flesh; Magma A: L'Enfant Sauvage; From Mars to Sirius C: Terra Incognita D: The Link Magma really resonates with me. I like the slow, chugging songs. More 'rock', sure, but with a lot of depth.
I'm honestly shocked at how many people dislike The Link, what the fuck. Indians? Inward Movement? Remembrance? Embrace the World? Dawn? Torii? The link?

My man needs to revisit those early albums, the creativity just ooozes out of them. They have their shortcomings, but kind of embarrassing writing them off like that.
i'd honestly put the whole discography in S A or B S- From mars to Sirius, The way of all flesh, enfant sauvage A- Fortitude, The link, Terra incognita B- Magma
I think you have a great point when saying that Magma as a hard rock album is great. Magma got me into Gojira and while I can appreciate the insane technical abilities of their other records, nothing beats the atmosphere, writing, and song structure of Magma’s tracks. Just my opinion.
This was a good ranking, and I agree with a lot of your list, but I suppose I'll give my two cents since I do disagree here and there. From Mars to Sirius is not only my favorite Gojira album, but also just my favorite record I have ever listened to, period. I also would have to put The Way of All Flesh as a very, very close second Now, for third place, even though some may not dig the softer tone of this album, I think Magma is actually heavier than others may think. While I think some songs like Stranded can be viewed as hard rock and The Shooting Star as a metal ballad, this album actually has some VERY heavy and emotional songs in it. Of course you mentioned Pray and Silvera, but another good heavy one is Only Pain, I cannot get enough of that song For fourth place, and this is where many opinions differ, (I think) I am actually putting The Link here. While The Link isn't nearly as good as later albums (says the one who put it above L'Enfant Sauvage) I think it actually has some great melodies, and it's certainly a lot further into the pure heaviness category. Something I've always loved about Gojira songs is how each song transitions into one another, and a very good example of this is Connected, Remembrance, and Torii on The Link. I actually find this album to be quite underrated and will always give it a listen Now, even though I'm putting L'Enfant Sauvage at fifth place, the gap between it and The Link is SO close. There are songs on this album I adore, such as the title track, The Axe, and Born in Winter, I find that in between the beginning and end of the album, it doesn't become as fantastic as other albums I've heard from the band. Again, it is still great, I just don't dig it AS much And then... Terra Incognita. So I really only like a few songs from this album, those being Space Time, Love, and the hidden track Terra Inc. But for all of these songs, I would much rather listen to live versions, like the performances from the DVD "The Link Alive." This album is just very weak, especially from a production standpoint. I find it hard to listen to, and a lot of these criticisms could just be the fact that it's an earlier album, but for real, I even like the demos from when they were called Godzilla more. This album just doesn't do a lot for me personally Anyway, again I really liked your video. Thanks for reading this far if you did :)

This is an old video but have you listened to the link alive? It doesn’t include all the songs from terra and the link but the ones that are there have much better production than their studio counterparts despite being live.
In my opinion from giving a listen to the Link and terra incognita. If you really like gojiras sound where they are more progressive. You might not like it. Question? Have you listened to either Skáphe new album or Akhlys recent single? Any thoughts if you did?
@@jordancarey5460 Thanks man. And yes on both counts. Cannot WAIT for Akhlys. I actually did an interview with Naas Alcameth on the channel: ruclips.net/video/UCArvIikl98/видео.html&feature=emb_title
@@MetalTrenches
Nice work getting that interview btw, had to crackup at the 'is that now you pronounce the band name? Oooohhhhh" part
Very educational. haha

Man I’m seeing a lot of hate for The Link on here. I think it’s their best album.
My list would be
1.) The Link
2.) From Mars To Sirius
3.) L’enfant Sauvage
4.) The Way Of All Flesh
5.) Terra
6.) Magma
Magma was still ok but just wasn’t exciting in any way.
But if you have more influences in some death metal bands. And you put aside gojiras later work. I think there's a lot of songs to still like from their first two albums. A lot of volume, and in my opinion quality.
1. From Mars
2. Flesh
3. Terra
4. Link
5. Magma
6. Lenfant Sauvage
S-Tier: TWoAF, FMTS
A-Tier: Magma, Terra Incognita, The Link, L'Enfant Sauvage
D-Tier: Fortitude
Magma so underrated. So emotional.
Will you make a Gorod Tier list as well?
Shit Tier:
None
Mediocre/Bad Tier
6: Terra incognita
Ok Tier:
5 Magma
Good Tier:
4: The Link
Great Tier:
3: The Way of All Flesh
2: From Mars to Sirius
Masterpiece Tier:
1: Le’Enfant Sauvage
Terra to c and you got the right list
The first two album sound is weak I agree. You have to listen The Link Alive from 2002, same songs but waaayyy better sound! And it’s live!
Man IDK why but I swear The Way of All Flesh is the best.
In my opinion, the triad albums are S’s, and the others are A’s. Gojira is my fav band. They got me into extreme and progressive metal, and as far as I’m concerned, they are the best at it. Death comes close, but Gojira is my fav
Check out the review of the new one!
@@MetalTrenches I watched it right after I saw this video. It makes me more excited for the album now! Btw, I started watching you cuz of QFM. Got yourself a new fan and sub! ◡̈
@@Rufus_BD Welcome! Yes QfM killing it right now
Anyone that says The Link is their favorite album is lying
BASED
As per usual, I mostly agree with you. I'd put "From Mars to Sirius" in B and not include an S at all.
😮
that thing needs a dark mode, also where does the progressive come from? tevs
If Fear Factory got as much better instead of worse than they did, this is what they would sound like. At least in my head :)
It's either memes about people being stupid for not liking Magma or MAGMA BAD in the groups.
And it goes way to far. Like monthly almost you'll see a poll MAGMA GOOD/MAGMA BAD.
lol yup
S- MAGMA! (it's all I need, it's really all I need, not the heaviest, not even their best, I just have to put it on S class, it's just something else. the lyrics, the "move" and their approach in this album, fucking love it)
A- Terra inc, the way of all flesh (Terra inc, just pure death metal, TWOAF, prog-death ish, great tone, both has shit tons of great riffs)
B- L'Enfant sauvage (great tune, the song L'Enfant sauvage and the axe, anger on the vocals work)
C- from mars to sirius (I KNOOWWW, IT'S PRETTY LOW, BELIEVE ME IT'S A GREAATTT ALBUM, but it's just didn't "hit" me that much)
D- the link (also good album, but the mixing and mastering, uuhmmm not a big fan, but hey, remembrance, indians, embrace the world, great songs)
Magma ❤️
How is nobody gettin behind the fuckinnnn Link my dudes, it has this sick tribal and raw vibe to it that makes me wanna smoke peyote and do a death metal rain dance lol
Magma is actually my favorite)
It has its supporters for sure
S tier - the way of all Flesh
A tier - from Mars to Sirius, terra incognita
B tier - magma
C tier - l'enfant sauvage
D tier - The link
@Druide de la Terre Fortitude is not that good
@@martinjakab imho better than magma
@@mirkecWii Maybe, but Magma felt more creative and fresh to me
@@martinjakab my main problem with magma is not enough songs, but with fortitude it's too many songs lmao
@@mirkecWii well yes, there is a lot of songs on Fortitude, they should have cut it back 3-4 songs
Terra Incognita is kind of overhated imo.
I think it’s arguably better than most of Gojira’s newer albums.
My list
S tier: the link, terra incognita.
A tier: the way of all flesh, from mars to sirius.
C tier: L'efant sauvage
E tier: Magma
Agree 100%
Y’all are wrong TWOAF is S tier 100% same with from Mars to Sirius and Suvage
1. From Mars to Sirius (9/10)
2. The way of all flesh (9/10)
3. L'enfant sauvage (7.5/10)
4. Fortitude (7/10)
5. Magma (6/10)
6. Terra Incognita (5/10)
7. The link (5/10)
S-Flying Whales
A-The Way of All Flesh
B-L'enfant Sauvage (I wish I could put it between A and B), Magma
C-Terra Incognita
D-The Link
Alright people Don't hate me but Magma is my favourite album however my list would be
S: Magma, From Mars to Sirius, L"Enfant Sauvage
A: The Way of the Flesh
B:
C: The Link
D: Terra Incognita
I agree with this list. L'enfant has grown on me over the years. The Cell is my fav song on Magma and I was shocked at how much I liked that album. I've seen them twice since then and I would have to say Magma songs are better live.
Would love to see them live
Metal Trenches Saw Gojira Live when they toured with Opeth, Devin Townsend at Red Rocks. One of the best shows I have ever seen. Was gonna see them again with Deftones and Poppy but you know Fuck COVID.
Great list for me the ranking is exactly the same. From Mars to Sirius is perfect!
It really is. I'd also put Fortitude at A honestly.
Awesome
Forgot to heart flying whales
I thought you were Anthony Fantano with a mask at first. Lol
I like the link and the first album lmao
You should do Machine Head, I like this list though
Honestly never really got into them so that would be quite the deep dive. At the risk of sounding like a complete moron, of all of their albums the only one I've heard all the way through is the infamous The Burning Red lol
Lol, that’s fair, kind of a roller coaster discography, Blackening, Locust, and debut album are pretty sick
@@jacobandersen8031 I'd say the stretch from Ashes to empire to Locust is their best
