As pointed out in other comments, it's likely a "fake gun" which has the bang and the flash, but doesn't really do anything.. russia is full of them

I agree with deki... the sidewalks in russia are so wide, where I'm from (Lithuania) the sidewalks are width of like 2people, so cars couldn't drive on them even if they wanted

That doesn't work. Was known to not work as early as the mid 1920s by planners. Has never worked outside North Korea. What does work is real fines that hurt, congestion charging high enough to change peoples habits and parking fees everywhere set high enough that there's always a couple of free spots per block. Do that and the traffic becomes reasonable. Building more/wider rods for cars just gets you more cars on the roads, just gets you even worse traffic.

You guys in Russia have the biggest damn sidewalks I've ever seen. But that's no excuse for people using them when they shouldn't.

Moose004 actually all communist roads are built like this, they are beneficial for combating riots. Usually rioters use guerrilla tactics, that are best employed on narrow streets, while government forces deploy armored units with heavy infantry, which is best used on large battlegrounds (boulevards and squares). Here in Romania a lot of streets were rebuilt into wide boulevards with huge sidewalks during the communist regime, but luckily during the 1989 revolution the rioters managed to overcome loyal military forces, even though they deployed heavy armor. However there were instances where the loyal military managed to disperse rioters and hold strongholds due to the width of the roads
cities in the USSR were built for people and not for cars, for everything else there is public transport

In the US, if someone drives on the sidewalk and refuses to move and continues to drive into people you have every right to take their keys and place them under citizens arrest until the police arrive.
Why they always ask you if you don't have a job or something else to do?, they do it because they want you being busy somewhere else so they can drive thru the sidewalk.
That BMW driver was a public menace. Who argues with someone when they are clearly in the wrong? ...and then returning with the pepper spray? What was he trying to prove?

being honest: I feel far more satisfied by people who accept their wrongdoing and move back, than seeing those "people" who start harassing you guys get charged for their actions...(thought they seriously deserve it!)
if the car touches the legs of a pedestrian, he or she should be reported to police for assault.
You need more stickers and more mace(I'll get you the strongest pepper, CSgas
, and UV dye combo I use or whatever is strongest legal there). You do a dangerous job amazingly it peacefully and very well but you should always have something as backup for the really crazy drivers. I also suggested-glass breaker pens or kubaton which are legal in defense almost anywhere but I don't live in Russia and don't want you guys to get in trouble. However I think it would be a lot better if you're had such safety devices on you while trying to save yourselves from a car speeding off with you on it. I have even seen officers on this channel say it's smart, safe, logical to have that way to break a windshield if hit and it is in fact a tactic they are forced to use themselves often when hit carried,

So I reckon I've watched all of your videos since I discovered your channel, long since before SPb chapter popped up, and what I've noticed is that it's hardly ever people with Russian cars who drive on the side-walk, it's always people with foreign cars like it gives them some entitlement.
Can bollards not be installed in position to prevent cars from entering the sidewalks.I fully support what your trying to do.
