To be fair, these clowns have bad English conversation skills, so if we say something they can't comprehend, they get mad. However, there are some scammers that possess really good English speaking skills and those are the ones you gotta watch out the most.
Even when they start cursing in other languages, i feel most people would immediately hang up, as no professional would start speaking a different language mid-call like that. Unless they have bad hearing and assume they misheard them, which sadly a lot of their prime targets (old folks) have.

The thing that really got me was that you were practically helping him along with his script at certain points and his huge ego was so hung up on everything that he couldn't even cool off enough to try and resume the scam. Amazing.

I think, for people who are not used to hearing scam calls and who are easily duped, the scammers are able to create the same sort of mind game / distraction that Kit has mastered on the scammers. Just as Kit is able to lead sammers down ridiculous paths which defy all logic, so the scammers (if they're any good) can lead unsuspecting victims along their own evil path of theft. It's a nasty world!

When I lost my husband 9 years ago, and nearly lost my 12 yr old son at the time time.....I fell into a trap with scammers. Long story short......I am ok today but I have read that many people that are vulnerable and have lost life savings, homes.......I myself lost thousands but glad it wasn't worse..... These videos help me to make sense of how these devils work PLUS......it is poetic justice ........to PISS them off to the point where they pop their cork. For these types of scams that rely on the victim pitying the person who "made the mistake" and wanting to save their job, it seems particularly ridiculous when they get so angry and rude and entitled from the beginning. How does that ever work? How do people not just say "your problem, you've been so rude I don't care"??
1- Call a lot of people. The more you call, the more you'll find someone that'll fall in the trap. 2- The pressure : "Do it now or bad stuff will happen" 3- The lack of knowledge about it (Also known as "I understand nothing about computers") 4- Number 1 again (there's really a lot of calls done).

I never tried screaming abuse at people though 🤣 One time I signed up this old bloke, his adult son got on the phone and started abusing me, signed him up too 😁 I was selling electricity. Electric companies do NOT value loyalty so these elderly people would sometimes be paying double what a new connect would be paying.

I fear this type of situation happens to them one day. They have been scammed of my grandpas entire retirement in 1998 and it crushed them. My grandpa was scammed into giving his SS number. He is over 80 and we had to go through so many steps to safeguard his accounts and information. Just horrible! The Medicare “we sent you a new plastic card” scam is new and the “ Verizon, we’re switching the way we take payments” as well. We stopped a lady at Walgreens from paying with $700 in EBay cards to pay her bill..I hope you get one of those callers soon.

What makes zero sense is that Medicare cards only recently (2018) moved from issuing plastic cards to paper ones, so WHY would they suddenly change back and start sending plastic ones again? And it annoys me to no end how every single one of the says "Visa or Master?" "Will you be using your Visa or Master to pay?" Yeah, Medicare cards are paper, and wear out quickly if you keep them in a wallet. It would make sense people would want a plastic one as replacement if a helpful and friendly person called up and offered one. Just confirm with them your social security and Medicare numbers with them and they'll send it right out.

My dad was recently scammed. I showed him this and tried to explain as best I could the tactics that they use to scam people out of their money. I just want to say how thankful I am for you and what you do. You make the scammers lives a misery. I’m not one for messing with people, but those who target others, especially the old and vulnerable, need a dose of their own medicine.
I hope it wasn't for much that your pop got scammed. It happened to me a decade ago. My screen got locked and they demanded 200 bucks gift card. I knew what was going on but I needed my laptop back so I paid it. Then I printed the instructions for what to do if it happened again (which of course i should have done to begin with) and it did happen a few more times and I was able to fix it. We all live and learn.
It's because the overpaid amount from the transaction is supposed to be refunded to them. It's how the scam goes, they make it appear as though the victim has to do it for them. 'My money' is just paraphrasing 'my company's money'. They just don't English very good.
Not to mention they all tend to say "i want MY money" or "give me 'back' MY money" .... forgetting that it isn't supposed to be "their" money - it is supposed to be their "Company's" money.
Even taking into account language and cultural barriers, the stupidity of these scammers is astounding. I mean their whole job relies on finding someone with diminished mental capacity, yet they always get frustrated and abusive when dealing with such people. I guess these scam centres don't exactly attract the best and the brightest.

I fear this type of situation happens to them one day. They have been scammed of my grandpas entire retirement in 1998 and it crushed them. My grandpa was scammed into giving his SS number. He is over 80 and we had to go through so many steps to safeguard his accounts and information. Just horrible! I work in customer service and have heard even dumber questions from genuine customers and I've never seen anyone pop off this fast.

The Medicare “we sent you a new plastic card” scam is new and the “ Verizon, we’re switching the way we take payments” as well. We stopped a lady at Walgreens from paying with $700 in EBay cards to pay her bill..I hope you get one of those callers soon.

@@AkanoWire Not really, no. What makes zero sense is that Medicare cards only recently (2018) moved from issuing plastic cards to paper ones, so WHY would they suddenly change back and start sending plastic ones again? Just goes to show that these scammers are totally clueless.
But I have also heard them refer to even credit/debit cards as "plastic cards." And it annoys me to no end how every single one of the says "Visa or Master?"

I kept him on the line for a bit full well knowing the “plastic card” don’t exist! after I called him out he insisted he was not a scammer😂🤡 and I was wrong🙄 even Medicare states on their website they are not sending out “plastic cards “ and it’s a scam..But his script was pretty convincing if people are not aware of this scam😿.

Yeah, Medicare cards are paper, and wear out quickly if you keep them in a wallet. It would make sense people would want a plastic one as replacement if a helpful and friendly person called up and offered one. Just confirm with them your social security and Medicare numbers with them and they'll send it right out.

My dad was recently scammed. I showed him this and tried to explain as best I could the tactics that they use to scam people out of their money. I just want to say how thankful I am for you and what you do. You make the scammers lives a misery. I’m not one for messing with people, but those who target others, especially the old and vulnerable, need a dose of their own medicine.
I hope it wasn't for much that your pop got scammed.
It happened to me a decade ago. My screen got locked and they demanded 200 bucks gift card. I knew what was going on but I needed my laptop back so I paid it.
Then I printed the instructions for what to do if it happened again (which of course i should have done to begin with) and it did happen a few more times and I was able to fix it.
We all live and learn.

It's because the overpaid amount from the transaction is supposed to be refunded to them. It's how the scam goes, they make it appear as though the victim has to do it for them. 'My money' is just paraphrasing 'my company's money'. They just don't English very good.
Not to mention they all tend to say "i want MY money" or "give me 'back' MY money" .... forgetting that it isn't supposed to be "their" money - it is supposed to be their "Company's" money.
