This scammer targets grandparents extorting them for their life savings.
We were able to disrupt them for a few days and investigate some of their important bitcoin wallets leading to an exchange.
In the end, the main scammer is extremely angry, and I'm extremely satisfied.

Can't believe I caught this comment right when it was posted!
This makes me so happy. My mother fell for this exact scam last year and lost fifteen thousand dollars. Instead of a coin star they had a courier come pick up cash from the house. It humiliated and terrified my mom, who is a bright and thoughtful woman. I hope more people learn about this scam and are able to protect themselves and their families.

It occurs to me that when you don't want to hear the scammer, it might be good to turn down the mic or put your hand over the mic, as you do when you are pretending to talk to someone else. In this case you'd be peering at the screen, and only returning to the phone to give him an update, with the volumne coming from distant to near as you start talking.

My grandmother got that same call… but they don’t know my grandmother.. they said i had gotten drunk, and in a fight, and gotten in jail. My grandmother said, “if he found his way into jail, he can find his way out!!!” Proud of you grandma!!

I've never seen this show before, but while I watched it it kept my attention and made me laugh harder and more than I laughed at any show situation comedy or otherwise and I don't know how long. The difference is I wasn't laughing at the scripted words of a writer... I was laughing at the dilemma you were putting this poor scammer dude in boohoo and I was also laughing at the amazing vocal control of this scam buster I doff my hat to you sir as I too do voices, and vocal sound effects and fully realize how difficult it is to stay on a voice once you get excited and begin laughing. This guy is from the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. I recognized the accent immediately when he spoke Spanish briefly. His American accent is really good, except when he gets super agitated lol

Someone tried this on my father in law. Pretended he was my husband and was hurt, in jail, and needed bail. My father in law asked why he didn't call his mother. The caller said they didn't want mom to know. My father in law answered. "She won't. She's been dead for 16 years." and hung up.

The character is spot on. I have talked to numerous customer service people who talk like her and they always say "ok PERFECT" like it's in a training handbook or something. He just needs to pitch it up a bit more because for some reason women (including myself) always speak as high pitched as possible on CS calls 😆

Someone tried this with some family members of mine, but what really freaked me out is that they were using my voice using AI or something. They slipped up and called my family by words that I have never used before so luckily it didn't go any further. Absolute scumbags.
I feel like this is going to be the new trend. Your voice can likely be gotten from any number of public sources, including your social media, and I wouldn't be shocked if even data brokers have it and sell it.
Just hearing what AI did to make James Earl Jones sound young in "Obi-Wan Kenobi" versus how old he sounded in "Rogue One," I can imagine what scariness there can be.

My poor Gramma Vuk was a near victim of this type of scam. She completely thought I was in jail and needing money for bail. She wised up at the last second but still was convinced I was in jail. This scam absolutely does happen many times a day. You are the unsung heroes protecting our elderly. Thank you for all you do!

I just stumbled on to this page and this is the first video I've seen. I of course immediately subscribed, I just wanted to say thanks on behalf of all those that have been scammed. My mother in-law almost fell victim to one these but fortunately she asked me what's Bitcoin and explained to me why she needed it, in any case I was able to stop her from being taken advantage of, so again THANK YOU GUYS for this. I love watching scammers get scammed, it hits me right in the feels.

This exact same scam happened to my late grandma a few years ago. Thankfully my grandma realized they didn't sound like me and hung up and called me.
