That’s amazing how she started up with her apt in NY. We have thought about renting our master bedroom in our personal residence. I was thinking of adding a mini fridge, just to add extra convenience for the guests. Extra cash always helps your family ❤️👍
Really great video!! Lots of interesting ideas in here - thanks so much Richard and Heather for sharing all of this valuable information with the community.
Hello from London Thank you so much for your videos I watched probably all of them and I continue to watch them. I have two questions please if is possible to answer or, if you find them interesting please if you can make video on them. 1. What's your advice for. Renting property from the owner and list it on Arbnb ( rent to rent ) 2. Do you have video as I can't find it on most popular things that can go wrong or thinks you experienced. When you already have a guest at your property and what's the solution or what you will do. Example: The person that stayed at your property took the key with them. What do you do? Do you ask them to send it to you? Do you charge them some kind of damaged? Or do you change the locks on your own expenses? And if situation like this or similar happened can you ask Airbnb for help or compensation? Thank you so much for your easy and great video. You really motivated me.
Love alot of these ideas. How do I add services to my Airbnb? I rent out rooms to a one of a kind garden house. I have thought of the massages and providing food but not sure how to add this to my listing.
Are AIRBNBs legal in Kona? Oahu just made them illegal, a small number of permits are allowed but there are thousands of illegal ones. Would love to buy in Kona but wondering how the law will change?
Just Kidding from the co host perspective? You probably aren’t making that net profit from your own listing. So, if you can make that “risk free” (using others’ prosperities), HELL YES! It’s worth it.
@@imrichardfertig This is a unique property, in a unique location, with high quality that is in demand. My guess is the property grosses over $225k so the co-host makes over $35k. And that's only one property in her portfolio, but she is certainly working her tail off. They are on the high end of the market and it is certainly worth it.
Bray Hill House Looks like they are grossing around $130k, so cohost fees closer to $20k. Your point is well taken though - for the amount of work involved, makes sense to focus on high end properties.
@@josephinemurphy2502 Its not about having the home run property. Actually, those high end homes can be huge headaches. People paying $200 or more per night expect a LOT. Just ask hotels that cater to such people. Plus you have to have processes and people in place that are cost effective. I have done this in NH. My fee is 20% but I have seen folks charging up to 33%. The benefit I offer that is different is offering a brand. You gotta offer something others don't. It can be very profitable with a lot lower annual gross rev. This is where having 10 to 20 properties under management comes into play. And having systems in place that allow you to realize that profit.
Hey Richard, I’m looking to offer my services as a co-host for free in order to get experience. Please let me know if there’s anyone who would be interested.
Love, Love, Love this interview! Thoroughly enjoyed hearing from someone who is running a successful business.

18%-20% commission for being a co-host... is it worth it?

I don’t think her website is working.
Sounds like we should all turn our properties into long term rentals and become cohosts.
