This is one of the reasons you are one of my favorite Drone RUclipsrs.
Seems like there are hundreds of RUclips videos geared towards beginners but you took it a step further and actually included someone with an interest in buying a drone who asked a lot of questions that people in his position probably have plus you explained things so well.
As always, great job!!
And while you're at it, put Nelson on the payroll. 🤣
Thank you!
I just shot some Aerial footage of Toyota using the DJI mini 2... 1080 p cause my channel internet and pc can't handle 4k but hope to showcase it soon! Thanks for getting me into the mini!!
I really like these videos with you with beginners. I like to see you showcase these drones and teach seriously its cool. Thanks Captain! Your energy is a gift.
It's nice to have a non fanboy honest review of a DJI product.
To me he sounded like an expert he got all his guesses right on all the drones
If you listen when he was talking about the Evo controller after he flew the drone you can hear him say that he likes the controller because he hates it when he has to set up a phone up and with this controller he can set it up faster. To me he sounded more like he was advertising for a company than someone that doesn't know anything about drones, But what are you going to do everyone is looking for new content for their channel but other than that it was a good video Captain Drone 👍👍
it sounded to me like he was working for the company the way he was asking questions about things that were kind of obvious and other things he knew a lot about for a newb, it just seemed kind of weird to me

Very helpful. I've looked at the DJI site a few times trying to decipher the model differences and this does a much better job. Understanding relative size and features side by side is easier in this format.
Nelson is a great guest! Long video but I liked it. Keep up the good work! Thanks El Capitan.
Well done. Excellent video. I enjoy the interaction with a newbie drone pilot. His questions and your responses answer so many of my questions. Keep up the great work. Thank you!
So excited I pulled the trigger on a Mavic 2 Pro with Smart Controller! It will be here Friday! Thanks for your videos!
VERY NICE VIDEO, THE BEST COMPARATION EVER!!! Simple to the point , thank you
Love it when youtubers are caring toward their guests and stop and listen. Especially true and important in this case. I am 62, getting my first drone and appreciate the mature but entertaining videos of Captain Drone. Well done and so helpful.
Thank you!
Soooooo what drone did you buy Todd K
I catch my mini 2 off of my mates boat at Whanganui NZ. The trick is in a swell, set your drone to highest crest of the swell, when the boat dipps away, move the drone into position, as the boat rises, get ready to catch it. When caught, immediately tip it forward to stop it quickly, job done, easy as pie, not that you won't shit yourself when learning. Don't leave your retrieve too late, most important.
Another superb video from my friend to the North....well done!
Unique… MADE IT HIS OWN!
Interesting video... when I received a notification and looked at how long it was I said to myself ... self maybe just watch it in part 1 2 and 3. But I stayed with it for the duration. Good job. 👍.
Thank you so much, your videos are very helpful!! You are a very nice guy! Great work
This is a good transition video for the viewers that have purchased some of the Toy Type Drones and looking for more! 👍
And that Mavic pro it's so Beautiful drone😍😍👍
What a Great Video! This is one of the Best if not the Best! informative Video on the DJI family for the amateur. Thanks
Oh I learned something new..just knew the optical uses mechanical lens & occusync technology that's new to me too
Awesome choice Nelson (buy all 3 LOL) Thank you for sharing super awesome video Captain!
Nice to look back and see just how much further things have advanced with drones these days!
Another great video, just the kind of information I'm looking for. Currently running a P3S and looking to upgrade. Keep up with the very informative videos...!!!
As expected another fantastic video!
Super interesting ! Thank you for this video !
Your. Buddy asks the same questions I would have...this is great...awesome team.
Great comparison Steve. You should have done a video like this ages ago. Great job! 👍👍
Nelson asked very good questions. Informative.
Beautiful video to my friend - Thank you for sharing the greeting from Serbia .
Nice comparison of features. Thanks!
You are a great teacher! I called my brother to come and watch it with me because he wants to buy his first drone and he decided to get the Mavic Air and subscribed to your channel! Your channel is awesome!
Thank you!

Amazing video. I love you speak English and keep it simple even though you clearly know more than most. I too am Canadian and am impacted by the US$. Own a Parrot 2.0 but had difficulty flying it and was frustrated with the short flight time. Looking for an entry model which is fun and simple to fly. Please point me to one of your recent videos which you think would best apply to my situation. Truly love your work. Thank you
Outstanding video as always. Great info.
Awesome video! You did an awesome job being objective on the best DJI drone your friend. I also learned a few things too.
Thanks as always your videos are outstanding was looking for my first dji and after watching this am going with the Air .Thanks for a very thorough non biased look at these great drones
Great Video! I'm moving up from the Phantom 3 Standard to the Mavic 2 Pro and the features are overwhelming in comparison. M2P is simply amazing! Thanks for sharing.
Just wanted to say thank you captain!!love ur videos..you always have great 👍 information on all of the products very good info well have a good year happy flying 😀
Love this video. Vary informative. Bought the Dli Spark! Supposed to be here 3/6/2019.I really enjoy your channel.
Thoroughly informative video, thanks 👍🇺🇸😊❗
Very informative video. I learned a lot in a very short time. Let's see more footage from the air.
Best video ever if unsure about what to get.
Thanks Captain Drone , love your style Sir
For the same price of the mavic air I was able to pick up the platinum. And love it. Something to consider. ✌️.
Thumbs up ere' Captain, great video for beginners and understanding what drone to get - many thanks for taking the time to make this important video - many thanks for sharing the info :)
Very good Captain, all his videos are excellent, Embrace of Sergeant Leandro Nascimento
Excellent video, and perfect timing since I'm looking for better portability then my P3S.
My first drone was a Parrot Bebop 2, but I now fly a Mavic Air. I feel the Mavic Air and it's features make it a pro-sumer drone. I get around 18 minutes battery life, which isn't too bad (a good 25 minutes on my Bebop 2!). Because of it's sensors I do feel that the Mavic Air is a great 4K drone for beginners, and the Spark a great 1080p drone for beginners!
Great demonstration. Very interesting comparisons.
Captain! Even though this was intended for people looking to buy a DJI drone, I really enjoyed watching you and Nelson going through the process of selection! It was a lot of fun watching you explain the drones to him, and then giving him the opportunity to fly each one😃! Keep up the great work, Captain! I always look forward to the next one!😃🛩...P.S. I really liked your “Captain Drone On Air” sign!!
Great video again. Always good information!
46:12, a 100 pounds. Looove your videos captain drone. This was probarly one of the best one I ever seen☺️
Subrunner ❤️
Excellent
This is an awesome format because he was actually asking the same questions that i would have if i were sitting there talking with you. Rather than just someone really familiar with drones laying out specs and opinions, this was really helpful for me since i know next to nothing about drones. Thanks for this!
love your watch man ............................ top post
Thanks for presenting this in a pragmatic fashion with a subject. I'm a newbie to drone flying and have just purchased a mini 2. I appreciated the information presented for the Mavic 2 Pro . I was surprised you didn't try any hand landings.
Great video I’m can’t decide between Spark or Mavic air. Your video has me leaning to the air.
Hey nice video great job explaining drones I just bought one nice job
I still love my little Spark. It’s the one I’ll take with me for those trips when I think I might have a chance to take a video or two or a few aerial pictures for friends. And if I don’t, then it’s no regrets either, since taking it with me was no hassle anyway. It’s an oldie but goldie and I love it.❤️
I got one, spark is awesome specially the hand gesture.
Wow Phantom 4 it's so Beautiful Photos and perfect for videos 😍😍 I love that drone
Excellent Video Steve. Thank You.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vid format and very pleasing to view even for a drone geek.
Yes they do have posts so you can catch for the MAVIC PRO in the MAVIC 2 PRO. They just attached around the body
2 thumbs up for your SHOW& TELL
AMAZING ,DJI rocks
Great video capt i also bought a used mavic pro i am loving it . so far you have been right on the money on these reviews . thank you
yeah i bought my Mavic pro used....then crashed, was in sport mode and did a fast spin and a blade hit and it crashed. Repairs was not to bad as parts are common.
First rule of Droning Harry's, Never and I mean NEVER fly in and around a boat unless you really know what you're doing. I have a friend who has lost 2 Mavic Pro's and a Spark boating. I'm even very careful flying in and around a lake. It just costs too Damn much money to burn like that. Long but really good Capt.Drone.
Thanks Cap! Great video👍
You and Nelson make a very lovely team
Great idea for a video for a soon to be newbie like me :)
Great video Captain
I have my spark and fell in love with it even tho the flight time is limited. Now i have 1 modded battery which has 18+ mins flight time and 1 only have 10+ mins flight time
Interesting and in-depth review. Thanks.
Thanks for the very informative video. I wish you had the other models to demonstrate as well. Meanwhile I'll make a decision next month, and take an active class. It's definitely a booming business to be involved in (professionally of course) - and I've flown before... so I'm so looking forward to see what images and videos I might be able to create. I'm in contact with a drone school, active flight class that I can attend - and I think that's a good idea especially because regulations will change soon, if not already. I need to read up on those next. Anyway, thanks Captain Drone. Well done, and very informative. I bookmarked you guys now, so my bookmark list is starting to grow again.
I touched in the mavic air probs it hurts but it don’t cut your fingers
Nice little video... I enjoyed it!
Oddly enough, I was with a good friend yesterday to let him fly my Mavic Pro...as he is considering purchasing something from the DJI line. This will come in handy.
Just bought Spark. Been watching your videos for guidance
It looks like the Spark is the best drone for me especially for looking over our property and inspecting buildings for weather damage after a storm then move up from there.
Good info..keep the good work
Great reviews again.
Fantastic review of the DJI products, As mentioned before from a non Fanboy perspective. Huge thanks! Really gives people that have little to no idea about drones what to expect... and look for. Nice work mate!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm very interested but i bought " drones but that wasn't the best quality really be welcome to see someone who can sell me a good drone in low price
good video Steve like my spark ,and mavic air lol
I really enjoy it
If DJI could make a drone the size of the Spark with all the feature of the Mavic 2 zoom . I would buy it , even if it was two grand!
Watching this at work ...wow I didn't realize how long it was. Great video .."it didn't feel that long boss." :)
Yup, I avoid making long videos, but this was a long one. It was actually much much longer, but I edited it down to just under an hour.
Nelson I think the phantom would be your best bet if you're not worried about weight , good video & informative PS the white is easy to see
It was a fun and educational episode.
Yours sincerely
Erwin Hoogenboom from The Netherlands
Very nice walk-through! I find it troublesome that DJI choose to "cripple" their drones though. I thought only Parrot did that.
I am seeing this video on July 15, 2020 - more than 1 year from its creation. I haven't seen any DJI product that is more advanced and newer than the Mavic 2 pro Platinum. I fall into the category of a new-be owner (have not purchased one yet) but I'm very nearly at the point of making that all important choice decision. I feel that I'm going to get the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Platinum for the following reasons. 1) The enhanced ECS'; 2) New motor design; 3) New quieter prop design. These features together can cause a slightly longer flight time, and quieter flight dynamics. These two features are what I want at this time and will pay the extra for it. When I get it I will test the Follow ME feature and I want to be impressed by the ability for it to keep me in the picture as I swerve about in my UTV vehicle from side to side and around in circles on uneven ground at the coast. I believe I heard that the Pro Platinum came out after the Phantom 4 Pro and so I feel that the quality of this feature should be as good as I hope.
I subbed.
You’re videos are actually decent 👌🏻
Thank you!
Hey Steve, this was a great video for someone looking to purchase a drone for the first time. however we need a new one since the DJI range has evolved over time. Also this video format would work really well for Hubsan and other brands too.
As inconvenient as Phantoms are for quick trips, I still fly my Phantom 4 Pro more than Mavic Pro or Mavic Air. The video footage on Phantom is hands down the best of the bunch. For the compact ones, I actually don't like the Mavic Air because it's way too loud and the battery and range are terrible compared the Mavic Pro. They are all great drones though as a whole.
you are wrong the Mavic Air is not loud , it is actually quite for a drone. the phantom is twice as loud as the Air.
Steve I had no clue the Phantom didn't come with all the bells and whitsles such as the auto modes. Thanks for you reply yesterday. I know your knowledge base on upper end drone is better than anyone I can think of . In fact. Your Advice has never led me to make bad decisions. That what MAKE U EL Captain Drone!!😊
Nelson Great Pic And Congratulation on your DJI fly the props off it well don't Have a Blast with it!
I have 4 drones 3 are DJI and for the first timer the spark or Mavic air would be my recommendation. MPz tops for commercial expert use
Awesome video Captain!! For boat enthusiasts the Spark has one really good thing going for it: inexpensive finger guards that you can buy for the sides making it easier and safer to catch with your hand. And because the Spark’s arms don’t fold, you can leave the finger guards on for as long as you like.
They are called prop guards not finger guards
@@carvidz7504 the finger guards I mentioned do not go around the props, they are something else from what you are imagining. Finger guards are these trapezoidal grills that go on the side of the body of the spark and do not guard the props themselves. In a spark, you can have both prop guards AND finger guards. Look up DJI spark finger guards and you will see them. Cheers
@@alaincopter ohhhhhhhhhh
Great video
Nelson picked the same 3 as me. I bought the Phantom 4 pro plus used in March 2019. I replaced my Spark with a Mini Mavic. I never owned a Mavic , but think I might get the Platinum Pro one day.
Great vid👍
Great comparison thanks, how about talking about video editing software?
I have the Poseidon 480 drone, when I started to configure it, the engine is now and I don't go how to start it now
Another really good video. But this message is for the skipper: There are videos of people missing the catch on Mavics from the pitching decks of sailboats with the drone ending up in the ocean. At least you can grab the Phantom 4.
Very helpfull demonstration. I like it very much. But, but, but, I would'nt fly so high with so sophisticated things... 'cause I live in Boulogne Billancourt (France)! Hi ! At the moment, I fill happy with my tiny DJI Tello ... at home !!!! Great and worthy as well
trust me you have to have all of them before you're happy😍
Nice report Captain. Since this a year old, you should update by adding the Mavic Mini, and re-release this same video, editing it by adding the Mavic Mini and removing the Spark since it's EOL.
