The DJI line of consumer camera drones for 2020 is very strong and definitely worth considering if you are looking to get into flying drones. They range from the Mavic Mini, which is designed for easy flight, great images, and convenient social sharing. To the Mavic Air, which is small yet powerful with a 4K camera and advanced flight modes. To the Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro - both of which take incredible video and photos for amateurs and professionals alike. And finally the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, which is truly a professional grade aerial camera system.
This video covers everything you might want to know when making the decision about which drone is right for you. We look at the different capabilities and use cases for each drone and share a ton of great footage shot with each of these drones so that you can see for yourself how the cameras perform and what they are like to fly.

over the years i have used (phantom 3 standard-8 out of 10)..(spark-7 out of ten)..(mavic 2 pro 10 out of 10) no signal issues,no image issues,no connection issues.had good time flying, filming just enjoying them...then came the (mavic air.. 2 out of ten)bag of shit, connection problems, image problems, lost signal problems.bought in august 2019 it would go back to dji but they are closed down due to covic 19.. ..good video..just subscribed..stay safe everyone..
Very impressed with your videos; extremely informative, concise and straight to the point, and very fluid narration. Looks like you just started your channel not too long ago. I expect to see many more subs within a year's time.
I got my first real drone not to long ago, I highly recommend the Autel-Evo 1 it's fantastic buy!!! I'm probably going to get the 2 later this year very happy with this drone.
I have Phantom 4 Advanced Plus and I absolutely love it. It's almost the same as the Pro on the video but uses the older transmission technology which is still great, and doesn't have side and rear obstacle avoidance sensors (which don't work well on these models anyway). The camera and everything else is the same. I was amazed how easy this drone is to fly, so if you are thinking of buying it, go for it, even as a first drone. It's just built as high quality product and works really well. Because of the wait, wind has less of an effect on the video smoothness. I just love this drone! :)
Just got a mini 2. Fixes the no 4k issue, you also get raw image capability as well as manual video mode. The addition of ocusync 2.0 fixes any transmission issues. The motor arms are stronger and more durable, and now has higher speeds for better wind resistance .Just an all around great little drone.
Thank you very much for the recommendations! Awesome info.
Thank your for the overview..new to me Phantom 3...once I get used to it will decide what is next...like the portability factors🙏
A great video for anyone looking to buy a drone! Thank You Bro
Very informative Video for helping me choose a DJI Drone. Thanks for the great CONTENT brotha.
Thanks for the video! This really helped me decide which drone i want
Kelly’s tips are great, several years ago when I was looking to upgrade from my Phantom 3 standard. It was Kelly’s reviews that steered me to the Mavic Air. The Mini was not out yet, but what I have learned I still love my Mavic Air for it’s power alone. In sport mode I have hit 46mph, I have seen footage of the Mavic Mini flying away in wind. Maybe one day I’ll get the mpro2 or zoom. Thanks again Kelly.
I will advise you to go for it when you can. I use to own a small RC helicopter, 7 mins flight time not a lot and I wanted a very good drone with safety, great transmission range, decent quality camera. Last year I got my chance and I purchased a mavic 2 zoom. Its a great drone. Had no problems getting started with it. Highly recommended.😉
Nice Job running down all the features of DJI's lineup, It's Exactly what I was looking for! I busted the camera on my phantom 3 pro and was looking for a good video to show me what things were like in 2020. I liked the portability of the Mavic pro, but wanted to know what I wold be giving up if I went from a Phantom to a Mavic.
Thanks for the informative video. I definitely will have to have something that will work with goggles though, as looking at a screen in daylight is not going to be pleasant at all. I am also intrigued by the HDMI outlet you mentioned, maybe I can use my ground station with the 32" monitor? The research begins!
thank you for detail video
thank you for show diff type on market
from Australia
Awesome video, it really help me to chose drone which one i should buy. Thank u. ❤️from Nepal.
I have flown the dji phantom 3 with the 2.7k camera and mavic pro, but never owned a dji drone, and recently I bought a mavic mini, and im beyond pleased with it. it has a 30 min fly time, great software, GPS, and fights the wind well. I've used it for professional grade videos and compared to the mavic pro the difference in quality isn't noticeable enough for me to spend 600 dollars more.
dji mavic 2 pro for me! but i still like my mavic pro it’s a great drone! I don’t need to uprade yet. great video!
Nice DJI lineup. I have some of the older DJI drones; the Spark, the original Mavic Pro and the Phantom 3 Pro. All are very capable drones but I love flying the Phantom 3 pro the best. Maybe I don’t have the settings quite dialled in right on the Mavic Pro because it doesn’t fly and nice and the video isn’t as good as the Phantom 3 Pro. I’ll have to play with it a bit more once the snow melts. I live in central Canada and We just had a snow storm the other day and we are still digging out.
Excellent video for people who are considering buying a drone! I bought the PHANTOM 4 V2.0 and I'm exceedingly pleased with my choice...again, an awesome video!!!
Very helpful info. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Great job Kelly thanks
good job. DJI has launched new mavic air, I an looking forward to your video about the new mavic air.
This is definitely a great review of the DJI drones! Myself i have three Sparks and a Mavic 2 Zoom and I love both, the Spark and Mavic 2 Zoom! I fly as a hobbyist and enjoy it very much so. I've been fortunate enough to fly over the US. for the past 3-1/2 years now and in fact I have some combined 38 hours flight time with the Spark and 11-hours total flight time with the mavic Zoom. Well anyways..... Once again, excellent review video, my hat goes off to "Ready Set Drone" Thank You!
2020 i bought Spark, and i loved it, more saved money for me, can active track for my another hobby mountain bike, can using dji go 4 mod so i can fly it 3 KM long using waypoint
I too bought a Spark, second hand, this year. It’s a very good machine that seems quite solid. I’m happy with it but I’m sure I will be happier with a proper controller.
Great overview, i have a mavic air and i love it, just a small correction the Mavic Air can also do hyperlapse.
Keep up the good work.
Hey man @peter maidment...how? Do you have a tutorial on your channel for hyperlapse? Thanks

Well laid out. Great video Kelly.
Thanks, good advises.
Excellent comparison 👍. Please make a comparison between dji RE goggles and the the new dji FPV,, and which one you see better choice.
That's a very nice selection of drones on display, and a great presentation on your part. So many good choices it's hard to decide. Thanks for sharing all this information with us, but we've hard that DJI will be releasing a new drone this Spring, and that it might be worth waiting for.
I Ron, That would be interesting but not holding my breath especially with the COVIS-19 pandemic disrupting supply chains and work schedules. I had planned to, or hoped that DJI would release something new before my Skydio 2 order is ready sometime in May? (batch #3 order) where I would make a final decision on what to get. It's been 3 years now since I got my last DJI drone owning the P4, P4p V1, Mavic Pro and F550 Flamewheel, so do for something new. It was a toss up for ordering Skydio 2 vs Mavic 2 pro but since portability is not that big of a deal for me, I could not see the advantage of M2P over P4P for the cost of ownership which includes new batteries, filters, etc... Stay healthy Ron. I think you are in NJ? growing hot zone for the virus?
@@AddyOverbeeke I agree, I don't think we will see DJI release anything until the virus has peaked here in the US. And since more and more states are asking people to say inside, there really is no need to purchase a camera drone at the point anyways. So most people can wait to see if DJI does release anything new. And I know your stuck in a tough position if Skydio wants you to complete your order during the lockdown. And yes I'm in NJ, and we're number in virus cases. Most of them are in north Jersey, right across the water from NYC. But we do have two confirmed cases on our island now. Stay safe and virus free,
And here I just bought a brand new Mavic Platinum Pro and it’s awesome!!!
Good choice!
Hey, cool channel! I need to pick up a new, or should I say, refurbished Phantom 4 (first version) cause I gotta a lot of accessories for one but I totaled my first one. Thanks
was thinking about a drone, I have quite a large farm and was considering it a good way to check on things, animals, security etc, Very helpful video, think ill try to get a few to try
Another great video Kelly
Great stuff! Well done. I subscribed after watching your video. I think it helps a lot for beginers like me who want to choose his first dron for film making.
Awesome, thank you!
My P4P has to use the cable to use the Goggles it don't link wirelessly like the Mavic Pro . I haven't checked to see if there is a upgrade
for the programming .
I am a recreational (weekend) flyer with the Mini. I like my choice due to the Mini's portability and it has all the camera I need. Most importantly for me is weight & cost to feel free flying with my young grandson for the one day he, and/or me crash. However, if there is a release of a Mavic Air 2 my considerations might change giving Mini to grandson and Pappy with a new bragging right!! . Love your channel Kelly and reference your videos often to help my skill set (or lack thereof)
Thanks for the comment Doug!
The best one is the one you can afford to pay in cash, hehe.
Great video !!! Thanks for sharing
Excellent video Kelly!!
Thank you.
great video, thanks for sharing!!
Good stuff. Thank you
Great video! I just sold my Mavic Air and have been rocking the fantastic 10 bit 1 inch sensor of my Mavic 2 Pro for over a year now. I honestly like it way more than the Phantoms. It's got way points, hyperlapse, h.265, films in log and rec 709. It's portable :) If it did 4k 60p, well they'd probably stop making the Phantom 4 😉
Great video Kelly!
Could you do a review on the enterprise version and maybe a review on parrots Anafi and blue grass
The drone for me is the mini magic thanks bro
great video vey informative
Thanks a lot for this
Nice video ,I think the Mavic mini is an amazing drone for the price defo my next drone
Tks a lot!
Great footage 👍
Kelly, EXCELLENT Review! Thanks as always!
Glad you liked it!
Phantom 4 Pro, iconic DJI drone, still the best DJI drone
Cool video and amazing content!
Hey man good vid, really helped me
I’ve got them all except the mini and Mavic pro 2 . The Mavic pro is also good, but I love the P4 plus but also the Evo.. great birds and superior video and pictures. Thanks again Russ for a great comparison.
Oops Russ is 51 drones this is Kelly gets confusing some times I know
Great review and very helpful, thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Great 👍 summary video! I love my DJI drones was going to get the Phantom ver 2, but had to hold off $$ wise. Cheers from Waterloo Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching!
Nice job and very interesting Kelly :-)
probably the intro nice tone
You have such a nice DJI Family Kelly, They are growing up fast. They do look like they are getting a little rambunctious with all this stay at home social distancing time ( love the opening scene).
Hey I just watched Captain Drone and you guys must have had the same thoughts at similar time as he did the same comparing which DJI drone is best to someone interested in buying one. For those still working or not depending on COVID-19 stimulus check, that extra money may for some may be the resource to purchase a new drone. Of course China would benefit from sale, but when you think about all the accessories people buy when getting a drone, it could help with the US economy? Nice job, I finally am finding some time to edit and should have videos out soon. I love the Phantom 4 Pro best, something about the way it flies that I like, tough to explain.
Thanks Addy! I agree the P4Pro just feels solid in the air - and you can't beat the footage!
Great review, pity the introduction of the Mavic 2 Air makes this a bit dated. However, after watching several Mavic 2 Air reviews, I know where it fits in the lineup.
That's what I thought as well. Purchased the Air 2 recently. So far I am very happy with that drone. Price and features match my current needs.
I have had a Mavic Pro (for several years) and also just acquired a Mavic Mini. Question: is it possible to bind and fly the Mini with the Transmitter for the Mavic Pro?
holaaa excelente video espero que prosigan haciendo este metarial... Voy a continuar mirando sus creaciones. Les mando un abrazo chau ❤️👍🏽
Can one use FPS goggles while the drone is active tracking an object "AND" head tracking in the Goggles? Unless the drone is capable of also following/centering the tracked object, then I guess head tracking wouldn't be necessary, but optional perhaps?
I want to have a drone follow my RC, while im using FPS goggles as my eyes, to control the RC. Since the Drone would be set to active track I technically should be able to just have the controls (for the Drone) hanging from my neck or whatever. Can a drone do this? Which drone and FPS goggles would you recommend for a budding youtube content creator like myself. Thanks!
Thanks
Hey, thanks for the comprehensive video! I note that you didn't mention the noise from the Mavic Air. Is it a whole lot noisier than the other Mavics? You specifically mentioned those were quiet drones. Cheers!
Yes, the Mavic Air is definitely the loudest of the group!
i have a dpi phantom pro, and the app won't start because it says i have to update the software but the software will not update because it says the software i downloaded from d j i is older than the one installed. I wouldn't touch another product of these people. But it was pretty good while it lasted.
Great overview, thx so much!
Glad it was helpful!
cool intro man 👍
Great Video, i have the Mavic Air
Thanks Kelly. Been watching you all , again Does anyone still fly the mavic pro I mean the original 1st mavic pro. It’s my pride and joy , I guess like most things people want the new improved version, I bought the Tello to film my mavic and vice versa. ( money’s tight ) under lockdown ) so thanks for the heads up Kelly, Also seen your 1st impressions on the Tello. 👍🇬🇧 thank you for the years of entertainment 🤣 stay safe mate 😷
Thanks @Steve Walker!
Phantom 4 pro v 2 for the win. Thanks for the reviews this will help the new person wanting to make a purchase.
I love the P4p and how it flies. Such a great bird and my favorite as well. Stay Healthy Chris.
Addy Overbeeke you too Addy.
I saw a Mavic mini at costco and it was in its dome charger. As a Mavic 2 Pro owner I thought the mini looked cute and tiny and honestly I thought the dome was store security. Haha. I would like to get a Phantom 2 Pro for the better camera.
You must live in Austin because recognized a couple of the locations
sir i'm a big fan of yours. I am new in youtube. thank u sir stay safe.
Now that it is November DJI will have at least 2 new versions for Christmas.
Check out my new blog post with top ten best drones www.winneroftheratrace.com/post/top-ten-drone-picks-in-2020
And the Mavic Pro Platinum. The first drone with quiet props.
Or just a Mavic Pro. You can always add platinum blades. Both Mavic Pro and platinum are way better than the dji air. And who wants the played out design of a phantom series. The public automatically go into defense mode when they see the shape of a phantom. Yep best drone not mentioned is the one I would recommend to all new people The Mavic pro original. And cheaper than the Mavic air / Phantom 4 .V2 / and Mavic 2.
@@adameve8026 Do you think he didn't include the original Pro because it is not in the current lineup anymore?
I have an iPhone 7. Is that model compatible with the new Mavic Air 2? Or do I need to upgrade my phone?
Great job covering the differences of the current DJI craft. No, EXCELLENT!
Much appreciated!
Nice video!! I have a spark and I love it!! I have been thinking about getting a larger drone or something that can shoot in 4K. And I am thinking about getting a used phantom 4 pro. Thanks for the info great vid😀!!
I have two Phantom 4 Drones, a P4 + with built in screen, 4 batteries with battery charger to handle 3 batteries at a time. It is white in colour and in very good condition. Happy to send you some footage of work done with it. Best e mail in 008gonzo@gmail.com I also have a DJI Obsidian Pro with a DJI Phantom 4+ Controller with built in screen. Look forward to maybe hearing from you............Regards..........Graeme

Most important, do they have enough speed and power to overcome moderate gusty winds?
I'm not really confident now to fly my drone with my mavic mini abroad specially in Europe despite of their advertising 249g.
Kelly, great video, very nicely done!
Thanks so much!
Have the DJI Spark, Phantom 4 pro, and the Mavic 2 Zoom. My favorite is the Mavic 2 zoom BY FAR!!!!
Thanks Captain obvious. I'm glad the newer Lamborghini is your choice and better than the old Volkswagen Passat in every way possible. 😂🤣
Wow, you made this vid just a while before Air 2 came out
I went cheap on my first drone, a Xiaomi Mi Drone. A third of the price of a Mavic Pro, but you really get what you pay for. It's been fun the last 2 years, but the biggest problem is the software, on the drone and on my phone. Often fails to let me take off, but doubt it'll ever get updated. I'm here because my next drone will be a DJI.
thankyou :)
I got the Phantom 4 rtk
So Mavic Air 2 is a no go? Cant seem to find many vids including the Air 2, is it because of the price?
Well DJI has an interesting lineup of drones that if your in the market for a drone you would be crazy not to look them up, these drones are fantastic. I own a Mavic 2 zoom and I LOVE it. Has never let me down not even once. However I have a bone to pick with the mavic mini whilst it is one of the best beginner drones I think its a drone that people should take extra precaution and care in terms of regular firmware updates and calliberation before any flights probably more than any other drone in the DJI lineup. If your a beginner the mini is a good choice, if your someone who can spend a little more than a mavic mini and want something more quality and safe go for the air. If great video quality and transmission range is more your speed the Mavic 2 zoom and pro is for you and finally if professional drone your after and money is not an issue than you get go wrong with the phantom 4 plus.
gpierre90 very true, the reliability of the signal on all wifi drones is questionable and extra precaution must be taken. I have a Spark and I almost never fly it anymore because it can be 50 feet away and in a field with no interference and it will decide to go off and do its own thing because of a signal disconnect. So on wifi drones it’s especially important to do all the updates and calibration every time you fly even if you are flying in the same place you flew yesterday. I don’t have any of the newer drones but I have a P3P which used lightbridge and the original Mavic Pro which has ocusync both have very stable signals.
Awesome tutorial Kelly 👍
Glad you think so!
a few days from purchasing my first Drone, and my first drone will be the Phantom 4... i wanna start from the top :)
what should we do with the mavic pro 1 gen ? should we buy the mini instead?
DJI Mavic 2 pro VS Autel EVO 2 pro
Which one will be best?
The best one is the one you're giving away!!!
Free makes EVERYTHING better 😄👍
I just like the mavic mini that’s my opinion
DJI spark :
Aight. I'mma fly out.

I managed to find both the Mavic Air and a Spark on clearance for 50% off each. Picked up the Air for $349 and the Spark for $179. Happy with both and I love the Air. Great features for the cost and especially for the deal I managed to find.
