Saw them live in Brasília in 2000 and i still have a t-shirt .Come back one of the greatest band ever !!!
There aren't enough people that appreciate Superchunk and it is such a shame. These guys are fantastic.
Probably my favorite band since I bought "No Pocky For Kitty" over 20 years ago.
+BB yup. early stuff is my favorite but ive been a fan for over twenty years. still go to their shows. very good live band. ive met both Mac and Laura. very nice.
Absolutely outstanding! My favorite band ever!
I'm so upset with myself for not knowing this band/ music til now.. IT IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! SO PERFECT!!
Yeah! They're great! Been a fan since 1991 when "No pocky fir kitty came out. Genuine homemade style music.
As a long time fan, I must agree......this is perfection
That feeling when you wear t-shirt of Bob Mould with names of two members of Superchunk and see this group on KEXP))
Still blows my mind they look that good at their age.
Radb707 They just didn't party themselves into the ground. That's part of their appeal for me. Mac and Jim are like your neighbor next door, mowing his lawn on Saturday.
As always...beautiful.
Beside all these great performances brought us by KEXP, this one is outstanding!!!
Amazing. It's been a long time since I've heard them the last time..
Jon Wurster slaps so hard.
Absolutely awesome.
Great stuff, I love these 90s US indie combos...more please!
Band sounds so good. Amazing
Love the tone of Mac's guitar. Wicked.
I came to this video while researching Marauders. Someone noted on Wikipedia that Mac acquired this one from Paul Stanley of Kiss, who promoted them for Gibson in the late 70s (only in production from '75-'80). They sold for about $500 at that time, which was fairly expensive for a high-quality brand, & Paul broke one in half at each concert during "Rock & Roll All Nite". Glad to see someone like Mac actually playing it!
Awesome band. Saw them many many years ago in Oz with Buffalo Tom, epic gig. Thanks KEXP.
They sound fantastic - the Marauder sounds INSANE!
Saw them live in France two days, and it was really cool ! The festival was set in Nimes, and its name was "This is not a love song". I totally recommand it ! Great performances, perfect weather, nice people... I'll be there next year. :)
Jon Wurster doesn't seem to age...
What an awesome set. Amazing band.
And that's no bullshit from the bottom drawer!
Mac's rockin' a Marauder!
great band
this is so epic!
I too have a 76' Marauder Custom exactly like Mac's, and is signed by the band themselves :-)
I know Josh from QOTSA also plays a Marauder now and then. Saw a picture of Keith Richards with one as well (not custom), not to mention Paul Stanley from Kiss.
rock guitar heaven
Totally inspired me .
go mac go!
Mikey Curtis. Dude, I LOVE Superchunk. In my top five for sure. Go Mac Go! I saw Bob Mould a couple years ago with Jason and John. It was simply incredible. LOVE 💛 P.S. It's just so sad that Laura can't play live anymore. That said, Jason Narducy and Jon Wurster are both totally underrated. Bob Mould is very, very particular. That tells you just how good they are.
Wurster is definitely one of the world's best drummers, a fucking legend !
17:55 sounds awesome, and Detroit Has a Skyline is a great song. I saw them at Coachella 2009 and will likely see them again this year at Coachella
Mac is a boss.
Love this band just because they covered the chills
where? love to see that
Souderton Area's own Jon on the drums!!!
Nice set…minor point: The overlay "Learning to Surf" should read "Learned to Surf"
Mac has played a Marauder for years.
john accidentally drops his wallet halfway through the set
The tour van has 2 horns
Where's Lauren gone?
Laura retired from playing live. Her ears are pooched.
Is this not the same drummer playing with Redd Kross?
who is this bass player??
+weston Jason M.F. Narducy.
where is Miss Laura???
she doesn't play shows anymore, because her ears are fucked up :/
Pandemic Playlsit!
where is Laura?
She's still in the band, but opted out of touring due to hearing issues.
Miss Laura on live performances... But is the best for her hearing problems...
This guy is ok, but no so cool as LAura...
+Leandro Fabrício yeah, ive seen them a bunch over the decades. love the energy on stage...the last time i saw them i was like where is bouncing laura? then i found out. wear ear plugs people. hearing is cooler than they look.
Too bad Laura Ballance, the bass player couldn't be there, not sure why. The stand in guy was ok
Bassist looks like a guy nowadays.
Christophe L LOL. Linda really let herself go I guess.
+Christophe L Don't disrespect the Nard.
+Goomba Anderson Laura.....she cant play live anymore cuz her ears are fucked up.
i saw them a couple years ago and was wondering where she was. I was bummed. wanted to watch her jump around.
+Ben Spizuco Agree. He is solid. I saw him and Jon touring with Bob Mould.
That would be Jason Narducy, I believe. His band Verbow was good.
I came here to see why every young-ish, white male comedian likes this band. I don't get it.
i dont get it, i dont like it, and i certainly dont want it.
Great band, to bad about that voice.
so weird 😩👎
You had to be young in the early 90's to get it and the underground music culture of the time. They were inspired by 80's hard-core punk
