Hey guys. Here's what I do now. Instead of using a brush to chop the mixture, I take a new latex glove, scrunch it up and put it inside another new latex glove. I roll it in a ball and use that to do the chopping. No lint, no dirt, no brush strands. Clean.
Or just use the glove while still on your hand, torch, throw glove away. It works the same.

Hey, Mitch, does marble sometimes have quartz in it naturally? I love the look of the bling, but I think more color variation would be best on our countertops, lol!! 😂 Unfortunately, with kids at home, it's the red stuff that doesn't get cleaned up, and we don't drink coffee!! 🤣

Thanks for the videos! I watched the kitchen countertops and that was great! I'm wondering what the edges aren't taped here. I thought the epoxy had to sit on the surface for 3 hours before letting it pour over the edge or maybe I got that confused. Because I also noticed in your other videos the edge was not retaped for the top coat.
What is the purpose of taping thr edges and when do we need to do it?
Also for 3oz/sq foot is that total for A and B or 3oz of A and 3 oz of B for each square foot? I appreciate the help!!

Possible to do stone coat over old linoleum countertops that are peeling/unsticking? Been watching your videos for a long time and it seems you always start over a extremely smooth or new surface
Yes, you can. You 1st clean the area and pick off things loose. Then use S.C. epoxy undercoat. Tape off the countertop and pour S.C. epoxy 1oz per sq ft to coat areas. It will fill in bad areas (as long as not deep), let dry 24hr then go back and sand the area with 220. Then you can treat it like a new countertop or board, paint, and follow stone coat videos. If your counters are super bad you may want to watch Mike's [Mitch's older brother S.C. OG. Lol] old videos and make entirely new counters.

It the same as a Pour top bar it any restaurant.
Can I use the Epoxy Resin A-B (not the Art version) for this?
I think the art version is supposed to have better UV protection to avoid yellowing.
I think a couple dark veins will make it pop
Do not use white! Mine yellowed hard by year two. Like... You'd call the countertops a pastel yellow, not a white. Also, was sent bad epoxy? My island never cured, Despite remaining in my unfinished basement before mixing (not left to the elements)
Nothing could replace the several hours of making my own countertops base, sanding, priming, epoxying...
I mixed this volumetrically exact to their specs (not by weight, so they said).
My sister loves hers, but my white countertops have since been replaced - not worth the headache IMO.
I had the same issue my countertops yellowed like no other by one year. I called Stone Coat and they said yeah there is nothing they could do. I feel bad because I did my neighbors as well and a few other random people the white yellows quick.
Mine too. It was sooooo yellow. Wish I hadn’t done it. They shouldn’t even make these videos, false advertising they know it’s going to yellow bad. Art coat and all….
How long before it ambers?
1 year. I did a white countertop using this product. Yellows within a year. Very noticeable after two years. This may be because I have high output LED bulbs in my kitchen and bathrooms... But I need that output since otherwise lighting in my house is very poor.
Aren't LEDs pretty normal by now? I don't now what caused it, but these countertops did not last the 4 to 5 years before yellowing - not in my experience.
IMO not worth the headache of making your own countertops.
BUT my sister used the same product but chose to do a colored epoxy (still very light) and had lived it for the last several years.

Do not do white!!! It will turn yellow even if it’s not in the sun. Don’t do it. I warned you. Mine was so yellow I had to redo it gray.

It looks like white laminate with metallic glitter, not qvartz. I had an expensive qvartz countertop and it didn't have metallic glitter in it. I have quartz stones where I live, no metallic glitter in them. their glitter is completely different
Why don't you wear a mask when working with the epoxy?
You don't need to. This stuff is crazy low VOC. I never wore a mask when I did mine - never felt the need to.

No need for a mask. There's no VOCs.
You don't have wear a mask with SC. Epoxy. No VOC's. It's explained in most videos but he didn't in this fast one.
