I’m finding that the Paf pro is a great pickup to test against. Especially since you use it in the neck and the bridge. I can deduce what certain pickups could somewhat sound like in opposite positions.
Your videos are EXACTLY what pickup comparisons should be man, good on you. Would love to see the Fortitude put up against the Air Zone from DiMarzio, I've got a Fortitude and I'm considering putting that one in a guitar and wanna see how they stack up lol/
This is a great demo, younreally put a lot of work into this and it is appreciated. Some of my favorite Dimarzio pickups that are rarely compared PAF Pro vs Super 2, PAF Pro vs Air Norton, Air Norton vs Super 2. Fortitude vs Air Norton. I am suspicious thr PAF Pro and Super 2 will be quite close tonally, super 2 is hotter with supposedly more upper mids.
Hours of listening to this channel taught me the PAF Pro is my favourite pickup by far and my personal pick for greatest pickup ever made. I've since bought three of them. First as a neck pickup to pair with a hotter bridge pickup, and then I ended up getting a pair for both positions in a guitar I love but have been really sick of because I'm completely over the Fluence Moderns. PAF Pros can do anything and sound great.
I'm a Active pickups lover for many years, but actually thinking about buying some passives again. Super distortion in the bridge + PAF pro in the neck is my current plan (or the other way around). How do you compare the PAF Pro's tightness in the bridge compared to a fluence modern?

PAF PRO all day long - BTW - the Custom Richie Sambora PAF PRO had a thicker magnet A5 - cult following nowadays. Fortitude sounds ceramic.
