    What about the parking light bulb that sits on top of the High beam bulb? How do you access that

    • @StifMiesterG
      @StifMiesterG Год назад

      I read somewhere you access it through your low beam.

    Do the high beams start flickering after you install?

    hey could you do a video on replacing the front turn signal bulbs? trying to upgrade mine to LED but can’t seem to find any videos on the later 2nd gen IS’s with the upgraded headlights.

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад +2

      Yes! I’ve been meaning to make one on those for a while! A lot of people of commented and sent me messages about it on IG/ Facebook!
      I’m just super slammed with Dental school / construction projects / all our other cars at the moment 😅
      I WILL eventually get around to it but I can’t promise it will be super soon. I’m sorry!
      Hopefully you can figure it out yourself thru forums like Club Lexus for now tho!

      Basically have to take out the entire headlight because they placed the bulb on the underside where you cannot acces it, instead of backside like normal people.

  • @TopJoo7
    @TopJoo7 4 года назад +5

    Headlight housing removal is unnecessary for this job and can ruin seals. The high beam bulb(9005) & low beam bulb(D4S) is accessible after removing the cross plate cover and airbox assembly. The bulbs can be removed with a counter-clockwise turn, reinstallation is a simple clockwise turn.

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  4 года назад +7

      Yes. I only removed it to show the access points better. It’s a pretty tight fit and a camera cannot see everything back there without removing the headlamp! I did say multiple times in the video not to remove the headlamp and that I only took it out for show 😅

    How do you change the turn signal bulbs in the headlights? Does the entire front bumper have to come off?

    a mild hassle just to change bulbs lol. I want to swtich my lowbeams but I am not sure which low beams to get it is a little comfusing on all the types I just want brighter bulbs so I can see better on those winbter rainy gloomy night driving to and from work I see maybe two 3 car lengths a head opf me adn most times it doesntr even seem like my head lights are even on but they are . eh whole LED hid hallogen thing is confusing to me

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад

      It's all about size.
      If you have halogen IS headlamps, your bulb size is H7.
      If you have the white xenon lights, your bulb size is D4S.
      After that, just go on amazon and find a bulb in the size you need that you like.
      Brightness/color is a different measurement and measures in thousands of K's.
      4000k = yellow
      5000k = daylight
      6000k = pure white
      7000k = blue-ish white
      8000k+ = mainly blue
      Personally I only buy bulbs that are 6000k because I think that looks the cleanest and most classy.
      Hope this info helps!!
      ALSO this video is for high beams. If you're looking to change your low beams I made a different video for that on my channel!
      I wish you the best!

    Do you still have your Lexus? I don't see anymore videos of the Lexus lately..

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад +1

      Ayeee what’s up my man. Always love seeing one of the original pre-1000 sub guys commenting!
      Yes I do still have the Lexus! I’m almost at 129k miles now! My plan is to keep her for about 3-4 more years, or however long it takes me to hit 180k and then move on to something newer.
      And yes I do have more videos planned with it! The next video will be me replacing the wireless charger in my moms Escalade. Made it months ago, just haven’t edited.
      Then I’d like to do change engine air filter (boring Ik but it’ll make me a few dollars per month so why not).
      Then -> Ownership costs since I bought it in 2016 w/ 50k miles -> 5 things I like -> 5 Things I dislike
      Possibly make a step by step on how to replace the one vent in the trunk thats gasket breaks over time and causes flooding into the speaker amp compartment.
      My gasket is getting bad but I moved to Arizona for dental school and it never rains so it hasn’t really given me any trouble. Still want to make the video tho bc I don’t think anyone else has covered it.
      It’s like a $10 part and dudes are having to spend $1k+ to replace their amps and stuff instead. It’s a mess.
      I’m in my second year of dental school rn and this is the hardest it gets so I’m really slammed. Give me some time, after that Escalade one, the next 3-5 videos will all be about the Lexus!
      Hope you’ve been well and had a good holiday btw! Stay safe my man 🙏🏾

    Have you ever changed out the turn signal in the front passenger side headlight assembly? I assume that round gray piece under the low beam door @4:35 is where the turn signal plugs in but when I went to try and remove it, I couldn't get it open.

    My passenger side head light turn on and after minutes it will turn off but when I switch it off and turn back on it works fine but again it will turn off again after some time. Do you think I should replace the bulb or it’s something else?

    Damm you had to remove your bumper for that. I done mines with out even taking off the headlights 😳 remove the intake and you have enough space to work

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад +1

      I said in the video I only took out the headlight to show everyone. You can't fit a camera in that small space to make a good video. You 100% do not need to remove the bumper or headlight to change this bulb! It was just for better demonstration!
      Glad everything went well for you though!

      Chill bro, that's my little brother. We don't rehearse this stuff. It's all on the fly. It's pretty difficult to predict what I'm going to do next/ what my fingers will cover up/ the angle he needs to be at to get around my fingers/ keeping the camera focused and in frame/ controlling his breathing so he doesn't get picked up by the microphone that's much closer to him than me/ etc. all at once on the fly.
