    You're godsend!!!! Changed my factory headlight bulbs on my 2013 IS350 to 8000K bulbs and this video saved me so much time and headache cause I already knew I had to get a socket wrench extension and then put the filter cup and its exhaust back in together before screwing in the bolts.
    You should have more subs as I see you do more than just work on the IS and your vids are so detailed and easy to follow. Thanks so much!

    What is the best bulb to mimic halogen light?
    I don't like cold white light, but the 2700K which *should* look like incandescent just appear to be a bright yellow.
    I want a true warm white Xenon, which can match the long life W5W sidelight capsule lamps.
    Currently using Osram Nightbreaker Xenarc. They are good, but just a bit too much on the cold side for my taste.

      @KrushgrooveOG you can reach in with your hand just squeeze your hand through the GAO once it's in its ok, you don't need to remove all what her did he got skinny hands he could just get his hand through the gap and then you twist the light out and twist new one back in

      No you just need to get your hand through the gap to the the bulb to unscrew it, you don't need to take the air filter out like the did, it still was the same anyway, you just need to get your hand through the gap and your fine, then twist out the old bulb, then put in the new one

    My transmission light came on after I changed both headlights. Do you know why this could have happened? Did I put the bulbs in too tight or something? I double checked that everything is connected correctly and tightly

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад +1

      Make sure you plug in that wire at 2:21 completely. It is for your airflow sensor. I know personally when I ran the car without plugging it back in, it instantly threw a check engine light. Once I plugged it back in, light remained on. Drive it around the block once or twice, shut it off and repeat to just get a "drive cycle" and for the computers to recheck everything. Once they determined that the wire was back in place and there was no actual problem, my check engine light went away.
      This is the only thing I can think of. For the most part tho transmission is pretty separate from the headlights. Messing with one shouldn't really have any effect on the other, even if you do something wrong.
      If I had to guess, this is a completely unrelated problem that just happened to pop up now. Sorry. Let us know what eventually happened and what the fix was. Best of luck!

      Probably need to add more blinker fluid sometimes it throws Trans light and maybe throw some engine oil in Trans dipstick tube so you lube the tube for Trans fluid sometimes Trans fluid can get a bit sticky. All done your good to go. If can't find blinker fluid cap it's under gas cap just pour it in it will go to proper tank! Oh sometimes hard to find blinker fluid if so just use vodka it sounds crazy but it works just make sure it's 151 proof! Better for cleaning blinkers

      I used to know but I forget at this point. It’s a fairly common issue over time.

    How do you fix the DRL if one goes out? I changed the highbeam and low???

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  2 года назад

      If you have the older headlamps without the LED check mark, it’s just a separate bulb.
      If you have the LED DRL with the facelifted headlamps, like my car in the video, it’s a much more difficult process.
      Guys on the Lexus forums have repaired just the LED’s before, and you can find guides online on how to do it, but from what I remember, you have to open the headlamp lens.
      The more common approach is just buying a new complete headlamp.
      Before doing any of that though, I would recommend going to a trusted shop or dealer and seeing if the bulbs inside have actually died or if there is just a wiring problem that can be fixed cheaply.
      You could also try finding someone in your area or Facebook groups that builds custom headlights, they might be able to fix the problem for cheap as well.
      I’m sorry, this is probably not the answer you were looking for, but I wish you and your Lexus the best! 🙏🏾

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  5 лет назад +1

      High Beam replacement is just as simple. Unfortunately the passenger side is a bit harder to work with just because there's more stuff on that side (as demonstrated in this video). You won't have to remove anything extra though. Just do what I did in this video.There is a different access door for the highbeam light. Do a quick search online to familiarize yourself with what the other acess door looks like. All you need to do is exactly what I showed in this video, but instead of opening the low-beam access door and changing the lowbeam, open the high-beam access door and change the bulb the same way. The high beam access door should be right around the low beam access door and should be all black without the yellow stickers the lowbeam access door had. I'll make a video on it but it'll have to be months from now. I'm too backed up with school and other video requests for right now. Hope that helps!

    • @SaraiGarage

      These are HID. If you have halogen headlamps, you will need to find a lightbulb that has a white color (such as a 6000k bulb) but use bulb size H11-55W.

      @@SaraiGarage you've been helpful and thank you! I wanted to ask because i own a 09 IS that came with factory HID. They are expensive and would like to buy Halogen with white LED 6000K.
      My questions is which i could find; would halogen headlights fit my 09 IS or is the wiring different because it came with HID's? This would mean i could only stick with HID's which I hope i don't have too, because those LED's 6k lights are close to it and more than half the cost of the HID's.
      I checked that it came with ballasts which i can remove, however i wanted to know as I'm looking to purchase after market halogen headlights as even the aftermarket HID's are expensive. thank you for your suggestions.

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  5 лет назад

      @@jaimepardo905 I'm a little confused by your question and don't understand if you are talking about bulbs or entire headlamp assemblies.
      If you are talking about converting factory HID headlamps into Halogen units by removing the ballast, I'm not sure how exactly that would work. That's a little too advanced for me, but I do know the wiring would be different. Honestly to me this sounds like too much work just to switch to cheaper bulbs. The bulbs are not that much more expensive for HID, at least not where I'm at (USA), and bulbs last a long time so it just seems silly to me to do all this just to try to save a few dollars.
      If you are talking about changing/ buying a new headlamp assembly to get LED's, instead of buying headlamps with halogens, I would look into VLAND LED headlamps. They look amazing and are only $500 for a set! Honestly I've been thinking about doing this mod to my Lexus myself.

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  6 лет назад +3

      javier munoz All second generation Lexus IS models (model years 2006-2013) have the same light bulb sizes. The difference is whether or not your car came equipped with halogen bulbs (yellow) or HID (white/blue) from the factory. If your car came equipped with halogens, you will need to use a different bulb (size H11-55W) but if your car is equipped with HID’s, it will use size D4S like mine did in the video. The link in the description is for D4S size bulbs. A D4S bulb will not work if your car was equipped with halogens because you would need things like ballasts in your headlamp housing which halogen equipped cars do not have.
      Basically man, if you car came with white lights then yes, this is the same size (size D4S).
      If your car came with yellow bulbs this will not work and you want to find a 6000k (6000k = color/brightness of the light) bulb that is size H11-55W.
      I know it’s confusing but I hope this helps you! 🙏🏾

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  3 года назад

      Yes, if I remember correctly, it does not matter how the connector is angled. There are no slots for guide pins or anything else that locks it in. It's really only held onto the bulb by a rubber seal.
      In summary: It doesn't matter what angle you put it back on. Great spot tho!
