Hello Manager. Which Clover model would you recommend for a new Taekwondo school? Clover go, flex or mini? As introduced in the video, it can be simply used if buying a Clover Go as card reader and plug it in my Android phone? Or I can buy flex or mini for daily operation? Am I right? Thank you for attention!
Hi Imiz! Thanks for your question. For an in-person business, our recommendation would be a Clover Mini. The Clover Flex and Go are more for mobile purposes.
Hi there! It's really hard to say just because we don't know much about your business + your business needs. We encourage you to check out our Complete Clover Pricing Guide: www.merchantmaverick.com/clover-pos-cost/#Clover_POS_Pricing_For_Hardware. Within our guide, you'll find a pricing guide for the Clover hardware options. We hope this helps!
Hello, I’m looking to start an online business no store front just e-commerce. The financial institution bank ozk directed me to clover for merchant services but I couldn’t find the info on how much it would be for my business. Do I need a pos device? I’m just getting started. Any recommendations? Thank you
Hey there, All Thing NuNu - That's so exciting! To answer your question, if you're looking to start an online business only (no storefront) then you do not need POS hardware. However, you'll still need POS software to accept payments! But there's so much more to POS systems than just selling products & accepting payments. They also help you track and order inventory, process orders, analyze sales, and so much more! For an overview of POS software, check out our reviews: www.merchantmaverick.com/review-category/pos-software/ You can also check out our article sharing the 10 best POS systems for small businesses in 2022 here: www.merchantmaverick.com/best-pos-systems-for-small-business/ We hope this helps. Thank you for the review! What POS brand would you recommend for a private boxing gym? Recovering from covid-19 small business with current revenue under 10k for this year.
Hi, and thanks for trusting us with your questions. Revenue under 10K/year is probably not the best fit for traditional merchant accounts, as they usually require much higher monthly volume. Fortunately, you have some other options if you go with a third-party processor like Square. With the free Square POS app and reader, you can process any type of sale, and if you're looking for equipment, you do have lots of options. Here's our Square POS post to learn more if you're interested: www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/square-pos-review/ Best of luck on growth this coming year!!
Hi John! The Station Pro is equipped for LTE/4G connectivity for mobile businesses such as food trucks. That may be what you are looking for: www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/clover-station-pos-review/
Thanks for the info, been browsing some of your videos. Currently use clover but considering switching to possibly lightspeed or square. The business does about 20-30k in credit transactions a month. Do you have a recommendation? Our clover mini broke twice in a year which is why we're considering switching. May stick with clover and go with the POS register system
Hi and thanks for visiting! With that volume, we typically recommend a traditional merchant account over Square because you may be able to get a lower processing rate. That being said, Square's suite of tools oftentimes makes up for it because they are just that robust! We are still updating our posts, but take note that Square for Retail now has a free version as well. Take a look at our Square Equipment guide to learn more: www.merchantmaverick.com/a-guide-to-square-credit-card-readers-and-pos-bundles/
Hey Average Joe! There are a few reasons we don’t recommend leasing equipment. For starters, equipment leases are designed to generate easy, guaranteed profits for the provider. They’re not intended to be a good deal for the merchant. Also, most providers who offer leased equipment will sign you up for a long-term contract (typically for four years) that is completely and utterly noncancelable no matter the circumstances. We have a whole article where we go over leasing equipment in-depth! We encourage you to check it out: www.merchantmaverick.com/lease-credit-card-machine/#Why_Leasing_Is_The_Worst_Option_For_Financing_Credit_Card_Machines. Thanks for stopping by!
@@MerchantMaverick I lease probably 90% of all my sales. Do I make commission? Of course! However, being we are a family owned merchant services company we don’t take advantage of our merchants. We lease cheaper than all of our competitors. We are a preferred clover seller so you get the clover pos with our customer service. No automated 1-800 recordings. You call us you get our family and team members. These machines are electronics, things happen and stop working. Leases have you covered. I had a guys mini go out, we filed the proper paperwork that took 3 mins and fiserv overnited him a new mini. Leases definitely have benefits.
@@MerchantMaverick I have a bar doing $65,000 a month. He was with his bank at 3% paying like $1,900 a month. I cold called him explained the benefits of Clover and he loved it. He went from $1900 a month to our cash discount program. He pays $100 a month for a clover duo and the $75 dining fee. So $175 a month and his machines are covered. That’s a huge win for that business.
Hi Steven, We really don't advise reselling these or buying them from a reseller, and unfortunately, Clover doesn't allow reprogramming. You can find out more in this post: www.merchantmaverick.com/beware-of-clover-station-pos-scams/#But_Cant_You_Just_Reprogram_A_Clover_POS_Machine

Hi Dama! We cover this topic in-depth here: www.merchantmaverick.com/beware-of-clover-station-pos-scams/ But, the short answer to your question is no. Here is a brief excerpt from the article to help explain: "Generally speaking, many merchant services providers can reprogram traditional terminals so you can reuse equipment. Clover doesn’t allow that-your device is locked to whatever merchant services provider you got the machine from. No reprogramming means you can’t buy a used device. This also means you can’t just buy a cheap machine on eBay or Amazon and take it to your MSP and let them reprogram it. So why is that a problem? The problem with an un-reprogrammable system is that you will be stuck with whichever merchant services provider you buy your Clover from."

Hi, Mahmoud! Clover could be a great option for your butcher shop, but we recommend reading the full review for each before making a decision based on your needs. You'll find the links in the description. Best of luck on your search!
Hi, Andrew! Since the quality of services varies so much, we just urge you to use caution. For instance, some merchant providers require you to sign a long lease where you'll end up paying a lot more than the sticker price, and you'll get stuck in a contract. For that reason, the only Clover resellers we currently recommend are these vendors we've reviewed: Payment Depot, Dharma Merchant Services, and National Processing. You'll find these resources linked in our description. Hope this helps, and best of luck!
