Paypal Zettle sounds like a great option for small businesses like fruit markets, butchers, car boot sales and so on. Very few people carry cash any more.
Heads up on Lightspeed , Support is great for sales and upgrades, However, technical and billing is extremely slow to respond. So much so that I am watching this video to pick an alternatives.

This was a really great video! I'm in need of a pos for a high school booster club (a nonprofit) where we will be selling food at the concessions, tickets for games/events and spirit wear. Which system do you think will work best for those needs? I'm thinking Zettle, but I'd love your input. Right now, all we can accept is cash, cash app or zelle payments, but we NEED a system to take debit/credit cards. Thanks!
Hi there! Thank you for your question. Yes! Zettle will be your best option especially for events and smaller pop-ups. It's very convenient and easy to use as well!
Have you done any video on the credit card fees you pay for each of these 6? I have a small business (quick serve restaurant) and the credit card fees are killing me...
I can look at your interchange fees and direct you. I'm in Indiana, so I probably can't personally help you, but I can help direct you on what to ask for with your current provider
@RealGioPower Hi there! Thanks for the question. We don't have a video specifically about credit card fees at the moment, but that's a great idea, and we'll add that to our list of future videos! We agree that credit card fees are a killer, and you have to find a POS system that doesn't drain you. Which system are you using now?
Hey brother idk if you were still needing help w those cc fees but my omega rep sold me on a new card reader which automatically adds 3.95% to the ticket total which the customer then either accepts or declines. We have signs that say “prices reflect 3.95% cash discount” the customers have either not noticed or been more than understanding of the fee. It both covers your cc fee so you don’t lose money on every swipe as well as encourages customers to pay w cash to which we all know, cash is king. Especially if you’re old school like me 😅 good luck 👍
Great question @silkemueller1391! We're actually in the middle of doing some research on this subject right now. Would you be interested in chatting with us? If so, please email marketing@snow.sh. Hope to chat with you soon!
Please be very careful with Clover. Our small coffee business bought the pos system bc a salerep promised our label printer would work with the clover mini 3. Well it didn't. We spent weeks trying to troubleshoot, they raised the monthly fees on us from 15 to 60 (bc they said this would allow the printer to work), only to finally find out the printer only worked with clover mini 1 and 2. Customer service is extremely hard to reach, they are not knowledgeable in their subject matter and to top everything off they will not give us a refund, even though the pos (piece of sh*) system wasn't used one day in our store. Shopify has worked well for us or splurge and get Toast

How much are the credit card fees with clover? I was almost switching to them because Square has 2.3% + 10c per transaction and since we are a QuickServe most of our transactions are on average 15 bucks!
I'm opening a new small bar and need to keep costs down, do you think Paypal Zettle is a good fit? Perhaps adding Spark Loyalty as a potential add-on app for offering a loyalty program? I don't like the idea of long-term contract with the POS provider given the uncertainty of success on my new location...
Hi @ke0kie - Great question! Spark Loyalty could be a great stand-alone loyalty program with any of these POS systems. And yes, Paypal Zettle could be a great fit for you. we have a boot repair and custom hand made to order boot bussniss, we are looking at upgrading our little cash register into a full modern POS system...all of these mainly look like for restaurants and stores that sell nick-nacks. @jtspgs1986 hi! Thank you so much for your question. So the majority of POS systems such as Square, Clover, or Toast function with all types of businesses such as yours! They are cash friendly as well so you have the best of both worlds!
I am very new to this myself... but yesterday I was talking to a woman that does vending and has a couple of food trucks... she swears by "TOAST"... she says it does EVERYTHING for her...
Spark loyalty sounds nice from the info provided, but id really like to know the ins and outs, "dirty details" I guess you could call it. I completely understand that this isn't something you'd really want to share with the public, but as for me specifically, knowing exactly what I'm getting into including the gory details makes me want to trust the company more and id even be willing to settle on some things. Will spark loyalty ever have any external hardware? Most people are more familiar with that concept and (like me) there's a select few people that don't have any extra storage on their phone to download another app which could drive away sales if people have to make effort to decide which other apps they want to keep or replace. Is there a way I could have my invoices printed on ANY of these POS's? How would I print receipts with no external hardware? I'm young but can be very old fashioned, I myself prefer keeping my receipts.
