Item #: SCP-1357
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The perimeter of SCP-1357 is to be monitored by Foundation personnel at all times, with a minimum of two security personnel posted at every entrance and exit of the park. Any persons approaching SCP-1357 are to be detained by Foundation personnel and administered Class-B amnestics. If the persons are carrying instances of SCP-1357-B, the instances are to be confiscated and filed in the Records Room of Site 45 (Cabinet-74) for possible future testing. On the 13th of every month, Foundation agents are to identify the persons receiving the new instances of SCP-1357-B, recover the instances, and administer Class-B amnestics to the persons involved.

Honestly, we need more "Safe, but completely malevolent" and "Keter, but completely harmless" SCPs, they're usually the best on the wiki
What is an example of one that is Keter and harmless?
@@larsatticus6807the man who sits with lonely dying folks. I think it ends in a X999.
They simply can't contain him but also see no real *need* to do so given he doesn't seem to be harming anything.
@alexn5743 4999 - someone to watch over us iirc
@@alexn5743 I thought Keter also implies some sort of danger to human life. Does it just describe containment possibility?
@@Michael_800I think the exact example the wiki has is something like this.
A button that when you push it would destroy the whole planet is considered safe because it is easy to contain.
A regular cat that just randomly teleports to places is considered keter because it is impossible to contain it.
So no, safe, euclid and keter only implies how hard it is to contain it, not how dangerous something is
Suffice to say, the Ethics Committee failed HARD on this one by allowing an agent to take his family into this one as test subjects.
results are worth more than ethics I guess
That is the purpose of Testing, to see what happens. No one knew ahead of time, and while the outcome was not desirable, any agent that does fieldwork like this, especially with personnel not under the direct employ of the SCP Foundation, would have been held responsible. They knew it could be dangerous, they knew it could be a park that swallowed them whole when they got on the roller coasters. But they are not conscripted I believe
I mean, it's kind of hard to meet the stipulations without sending an actual family in lol
Nah, this is a learning experience, the reality is that it only seemed to trigger because the agent attempted to continue the interview. Plenty of families had entered before, but there's no sign that this was a known risk. The main failure was in not recognizing the threat from the entity appropriately and prioritizing continuing the interview, but that's forgivable imo and really just something to keep in mind.
@@jordanfry5138 Found the ethics committee member 😂
Remember folks, as stated in your SCP Employee handbook : Just because an anomaly is designated as 'SAFE' that doesn't mean you can play with it. 'SAFE' refers to how easy it is to contain... not that the anomaly is, in fact, safe at all to be around.

Wherein lies the real horror.
Is debatable if she can be rescued even if he got them out. Whatever they did to her, it seems to be permanent. Makes me wonder what they used to do it, seemed like a machine

@@vexxamadepends, the timeline is a little hazy.
He was a danger to his own operation. The same reason why agents who are parents/relatives of hostages or murder cases aren't allowed on the case. Too personal, he wasn't thinking clearly.
The incident where he charged in and killed 30 of them probably sped up whatever process they do to change kids into instances. And because of that, they weren't able to come up with a rescue plan in time, and she was turned.
Never has an SCP audio log made me as pissed as Hailey talking to “Steve” while being lied to that her parents abandoned her.
Exactly . This SCP was more frightening than I anticipated
I swear these type if SCPs are the best. No Lovecraft style end of the world situations. Just something ever parent would fear. Losing your child and having them think you abandoned them is a death sentence to any parent. Especially knowing where they are and still not having the ability to get them back. Truly terrifying.
Most of Lovecraft's stories didn't actually involve an end of the world scenario, people mainly just know about Cthulhu and Nyarlathotep. Most of his stories were about unexplainable things like this, with someone witnessing something messed up and barely making it out alive.

This SCP is my favorite kind of SCP. No ancient war to determine the future, no alien gods that want to eat Earth, etc., just a really creepy thing that should not exist! Also serves as a perfect example of how an SCP's rating has nothing to do with how tame the anomaly is. Safe just means easy to contain, not "won't seriously screw up an entire family forever" for example.
No billion word essay that requires you to use up some of your PTO to read.
There should be SCP bingo for your typa comments. I see at least one on every other SCP Volgun covers.😂

"I want my daughter back."
Jesus. This might be a 'Safe' SCP, but it sure did plenty of damage to Agent Fredricks.
A solid illustration that "Safe" as a containment class does _not_ mean "safe" in the common use of the word.
That said, I feel like the way the tickets mysteriously show up should bump this one to "euclid"; it certainly seems to fail "the box test".
@@SolarShadoagreed, it is certainly Euclid.
@@bestaround3323 like my dog.
@@samuelduchesne5841 Euclid is a cool name for a dog.
@@SolarShadoIt's not euclid because there's no compulsion or desire to use the tickets for someone holding them, and the tickets vanish themselves without problems a month and half alter, or less. If you don't go onto the grounds while holding tickets and being in a basic family unit, you're completely safe from it. 'Safe' only means it won't actively attempt harm on others. Theoretically, the park might not have even done that to Hailey if the Agent hadn't pushed the answer demands so much.
Researcher: Okay. Can we please change the name of this classification? I've lost count of how many personnel have gotten careless after seeing the word "Safe".
Please submit a request to your local overseer.
Just because it won't leave the box we put it in, doesn't mean it won't kill you if you go into its box
So many were fooled by the safe classification and forgot the Box analogy.
Nothing happends if it´s in a box = safe
It can leak out of the box so you have to monitor it = euclid
If it easily escapes the box = keter
if no box can hold it = apollyon
It is the box = Thaumiel
If the box makes it worse = Archon
Remember that bobble the clown is safe while a teleporting creature with a tub of beans is keter. This is why we have the more nuanced classifications
The classifications have DEVELOPED in to how likely an SCP is to escape containment. It was originally how dangerous a thing was (which makes sense when using the word "safe" but times have changed.
Maybe "secure" would be a better option, or SIC (Secure in Containment).
Honestly, this is like Coraline except even more horrifying. It's one thing for a child to go missing with seemingly no answers for their relatives, but for Agent Fredericks to have heard everything the entity's hivemind told his daughter and to know she became part of it the moment she thought she was finally allowed to leave... I feel like knowing exactly what happened and that you can hear their voice but never get them back is actually even more horrifying. It's like what happens in real-life cult scenarios, and how much they punish people who come so close to snapping out of the indoctrination.
This one right here EASILY if the most horrifying for me. I have a little girl and the line where Hailey thinks her parents don't love her anymore hit me HARD. Props to the voice actors, and of course the writer of this SCP.
Same man, I have an 8 year old daughter, and that part had me literally in tears.
This was REALLY well done, hats off to Volgun on his work, but FUCK this SCP, I already have enough nightmares about horrible stuff happening to my kids, and going over all the scenarios I have to do my best to protect them from, something like this rachets that fear for your children up to 11.
Wish I hadn't listened to it now before bed.
I swear there needs to be a "Basic Survival and conduct" pamphlet that goes over the basics of what to do when dealing with anomalies without mentioning anything that would require administering amnesics. Things like "if you notice something writing on the wall, don't look at it, you may find it extremely upsetting or hurtful and might cause you emotional trauma" or "if a stranger is promising you fun and happiness for an endless amount of time, you should try to flee from them because they might want to hurt you". Basically mentioning things that sound like normal stuff while hiding the existence of anomalies.
taking this idea and running with it
The most unsettling thing about this SCP to me was it messing up the words of the mail song and accidentally saying snail. That’s a very unusual mistake to make, and kind of implies to me that it’s something very inhuman trying to mimic humanity
I watched this expecting a cool video about a creepy amusement park. Instead, as a father, I had my heart broken. Thank you as always for your videos!
The scream...the damned scream legit gave me chills. One of the best ones thus far.
The only other SCP log that scares me like that was SCP-087 (The stairwell ) Log 3. Hearing absolute terror in dealing with an SCP is frightening
This and Cragglewood are by far two of the most terrifying SCPs out there. Something about the sinister, anomalous theme park rope just gets under my skin.
you do not recognize the bodies in the water
Why is there a sloth in the background of this drawing?
Pretty sure the “2 adults accompany a child” active condition are to make sure the scp doesn’t gobble up children like candies. A condition that sadly whatever entities inhabited the park have found a loophole to
it´s interesting to see that after so many years of SCP articles there are still fans that don´t know how the classification system works, yes people this is safe
It's only safe in containment , not on danger
Absolutely horrific, this is more disturbing than any recent videos, I was more freaked out by this narrative than the latest Kane pixels video, and that's saying a lot! The volgun is the best SCP narration, 👌👍 truly amazing,
The old school ones are definitely the scariest. volgun is great but I've got a shout out the exploring series. He's definitely my favorite and he's doing a video every day this month. ...
I can make it even more disturbing for you. You know how Hailey was turned into one of the park mascots? You know how the mascots are seemingly of random race, age, and gender, even if it conflicts with the character they're dressed as?
It's because they're all kids. Or were. Maybe some of them are genuine anomalies, made to lure more in, but the majority of them are captured kids. And the Foundation, on at least 2 occasions, slaughtered dozens of them.
Even _if_ they found a way to remove and un-brainwash instances from the park, some parents lost their kids without any closure.
@@bugjams the entire universe is built from sound, the electronic manipulation of sound, through motion and momentum would crush the memory of most kids and parents, disassociation of the previous memories, people, places, things, the same technology can create the tulpa, thought form generator tech, there is a good creepy pasta that fits this narrative,,,whimsywood

The fact that the thumbnail seems to change between my receiving a pop up notification and opening the actual video has piqued my interest even more.
I will always argue that Safe entities are where the the most creative SCPs come from
I have never before experienced such unimaginable bitter rage at an SCP article. What that man went through, and what his daughter went through, was absolutely horrific.

That an SCP labeled SAFE was in fact SAFE.
@posthumanistpotato "safe" doesn't mean the SCP isn't gonna hurt people, "safe" just means it's easy to contain
This is probably low on the rank of the worst things the Foundation does with their employees
@@posthumanistpotatoThe fact that tickets spontaneously arrive to people outside the containment zone places this firmly in Euclid territory. No idea why it’s classed “safe.”
@@FreemanicParacusiaI think it's because it's very easy to contain. People can get the tickets, sure, but they can't enter the park. The park doesn't teleport, it stays in a static location with Foundation guards keeping anyone from entering and confiscating their tickets, effectively rendering the tickets useless. And the tickets vanish on their own if they're not used. I think that's why it's classified as 'safe'.
This is easily Volgun's most horrifying and chilling anomaly to date. The way the SCP manipulates that little girl...
Such strong Coraline vibes from this one. Very grim. One of the few SCP's to get a genuinely strong emotional response from me.
The strange, unsettling SCPs are always better than the Keter ultra complicated pseudo-canon ones.
This one made me tear up. Just the story of a man losing his daughter and going through so much, the way she slowly becomes home sick and the horrible ending. This is a truly evil SCP, I don't care about all the others anymore this one separates families and torments and taunts their children.
This anomaly never should have been classified as safe and whatever researcher did majorly dropped the ball. The fact that this scp can send out anomalous tickets to random members of the public proves it maintains a level of autonomy despite its containment which means it should be classified as euclid BARE MINIMUM. Truthfully keter fits it better since that effect seemingly can’t be contained. A safe class anomaly can’t trigger its anomalous effects if left alone in containment no matter how benign they may appear at a surface level. Entity and location scps aren’t typically classified as safe since there’s often a level of uncertainty to them and this is a prime example why. Chances are the higher ups wouldn’t have signed off on testing involving a agents civilian family if the anomaly was classified appropriately from the get go.
Love him or hate him, he's spittin' mad facts.

Locked box test. If you put it in a locked box, and it stays there, then it's safe.
Unfortunately that is not always the case especially when comes to an scp object. Scp 1357 continuously send out tickets on the 13th of every month and we still don’t know how it does this and it’s only a matter of time before someone gets in when one of the security personnel let their guard down because they thought it was “safe.”

heart wrenching voice acting on this one. insanely well done
Honestly, I don't know what that agent was thinking bring his daughter to a potentially hostile SCP.
It was the only way the could access it, the SCP requires a couple and a child. This also probably happened when the SCP was more recently discovered and previous accounts just suggested it was a cool park that adapted to a child's every whim. There weren't any warning signs, they didn't know each instance was once a child who became trapped, they just knew it was pretty cool and only permitted families with small children...
Good point though tbh, if I worked for the foundation and this place has THOSE pictures of creepy masked people in a dark parking lot, there is no chance in hell I'M going in there unless I know my kids got nerves of steel.

Another amazing vid Volgun 😍
I can usually detatch from the horor aspect of SCPs but this one hit me right in the abandonment issues
SCP-1357 probably still consider safe because although the brochures send out the amusement park is still at a single location and no one has to use the brochur and tickets to go to and enter 1357. As long as the brochure or tickets don't influence the reciever in any way, 1357 is still technically secured in the box aka safe. But I can see why many question the classification though with the brochures and tickets being send out god knows how to god knows where.
Remember this in a metaphor sense, you can always lock up a deadly weapon and as long as it's access and/or used it won't kill anyone even though it's still a deadly weapon.
Wat?
It isn't trying to bend itself around the foundation to abduct people, it either doesn't know they exist or can't do anything about it.
@@jwalster9412 probably because it’s target are mainly kids and young teens. Unless foundation members tell their kids about their line of work I doubt most kids are aware of the foundation
I doubt the foundation member who was sent to investigate playland told his kids they were going to some anomalous place that could be dangerous when he was force to bring his family with him
Goddamn it bro, I've watched dozens of SCP videos but not one hit me as hard as this one. I watched this one yesterday and I'm still feeling sad for that little girl. Poor kid😭😭😭
buddy... i watched it 8 month ago when in came out... it still haunts me... every now and then, i dont know why, i remember it and it makes me feel this kind of dread where you know its not real but your subconscious seems to not have gotten the message yet
this one got me right in the feels,,, such great VA’s as always
This is wild, i 100% thought this was going to be a SCP based of of Playland Park in Rye, NY where unfortunate accidents have actually happened.
I lived nearby so it was a real tangible horror story i grew up with.
Great storytelling using the classic reporting style. Safe doesn't mean it is "safe"
Maybe the GOC's approach of "destroy the anomaly" should be taken into consideration.
God damn this was a good one!
Woo and you're tellin' me!
This sounds like something straight outta Goosebumps!
I love how batman showed up. That raises so many questions. the biggest being "how do you know that wasn't the real batman?" I find this entire train of thought hilarious. It's an scp right, anything can happen. Maybe the scp somehow pulled batman from the dc universe into ours, or maybe this scp canon takes place in the dc universe and batman is there investigating some disappearances, or (and this is my favorite) batman himself is an scp and his showing up in the park is just a coincidence. So many fun possibilities.
Oooof. 13 min in and my stomach is churning. Yup just one more emotional scar that ill repress and allow me to become stronger .
I wonder if you can "ride" it out. If you stay until your child gets bored or goes home, would they have the same "you're upsetting your child" excuse to separate you?
Hey! Why don't we ask the locals, they seemed to know a little bit about the place... oh wait.
I assume they would do the same tactics of separation and lying. You try to leave, they question you about it, blaming you, and the cycle continues.
@@jwalster9412 Probably but maybe it gives you some kind've chance if you can actively convince your kid that you're all going somewhere else that's fun.
Good question! I also find myself wondering if it's always predatory or if it only separates and captures if it determines the child is better off with them.
@@masontaylor7708 Questions like that are the kind of testing I could see myself doing... until I realize just how "foundation" that sounds.
On the positive side an MTF called the Rescue Rangers is officially my new favorite taskforce codename, their patch is just like Chip and Dale kitted out with m4s and night vision lol
The tape recording with the kid was very unnerving
Amazing work
as a long time listener that uses these to wind down, let me just tell ya this one made my heart hurt and now I can’t sleep lol
I'm not sure if it was intended in the voice acting, but it sounded like you could actually hear the girl aging over the audio logs, like she was there for years until she was old enough to start questioning the -A instances. Horrifying.
As chilling as this SCP is, I gotta say the visual of a trained, armed MTF squadron getting overwhelmed by an army of people dressed like children's TV characters is hilarious. Imagine getting mobbed by fucking Steve from Blues Clues
The manipulative SCPs are always the worst.
I really want a list of every "safe?" class scp
That recording of Hailey crying broke my heart. :(
