SCP-6262 │ A Friendly Bus │ ̶S̶a̶f̶e̶ Thaumiel │ Telepathic SCP
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6262 inhabits the city of Daegu, Republic of Korea, and as such the city is to be considered its containment area. An ultra-low-power GPS transceiver with no less than six months of available backup power is to be fitted to the subject, with appropriate methods for recharging the power bank as necessary.

Reminds me of the vending machine that can vend anything, and how when, during a containment breach, a Foundation agent asked for a cup of "pertinent medical knowledge", the vending machine vended a strange green liquid, and the agent then proceeded to give professional medical attention to injured personel. And when researchers tried to reproduce this liquid, they could never succeed, suggesting the vending machine has a form of intelligence.
294, my favorite SCP.
bruhhh i actually didn't realize you were talking about the coffee machine because you called it a vending machine lmao
anyways that's pretty crazy
i love how crisp your narrations are, even at the lowest of volume settings on ym tv. Especially when Im trying to get around my insomina. And for the record "normal" busses scare me a lot.
It also severely injured someone because someone asked for "A cup of Joe"
I like to think the "cup of Joe" request could also not be reproduced because the machine learned that's not what was meant.
"We're just letting this bus drive around korea?"
Yeah that's our boy you don't fuck with the bus.
It’s always good to hear happy stories sometimes you get bogged down in all the cosmic horror.
Same, I've been so burnt out on cosmic anomaly 27 that the Foundation can't even do anything about. This was a welcome surprise. Kinda wish this bus was real.
Yes....this one is **DEFINITELY** a "palate cleanser" to all the Euclid and Keter-Class anomalies we have seen, of late
Ong
Yeah, this one feels a lot more old-school. Simple and pure, like some nice refreshing tea.
@@kreatuslucinaI'd use it!
I absolutely love SCPs like this.
Anyone can write a world-ending threat. It takes real skill a really good, interesting Safe or Thamial-class object.
I think sacrosanct was awesome, the best one IMHO. Has the best of both worlds.
Completely agree. Making something interesting that is ALSO unthreatening or positive is actually far more difficult than apocalyptic threats. Don’t know why we humans are wired that way, but we seem to be!
@@steveharrison76It's almost as if happiness makes us... happy or something? I don't get it either ;)
Especially one with real makes and models of buses, which are basically unknown to the internet! especially the 1950s Russian bus which has only a single wiki article available on Google.
@@Rick586 heh - fair play. I meant more that it seems easier to write and create horror and destruction than it is to write happiness or pleasant things to that same standard., where he emotion is evoked in the reader. Like, horror is a genre; nice happy things isn’t….
But - fair point: I didn’t make that very clear!
That bus is going to end up with a Foundation Medal of Honor eventually 😮 -Dr. Sherman🖊️
I sure hope so
Bus-kun could even become O5-14.
So, we have a nice lovely bus here, but which Bus-SCP that goes around and Isekai'ing people? That one needs to be contained asap.
@@SickOfDemocracyit's actually a truck, and i think its name is truck kun
I'm not saying it's malevolent benign but the image of its grill and headlights are extremely unsettling to me like Thomas the Train. Very unsettling
This SCP sounds like a rather lovely anomaly. Good conversations, great at keeping secrets, and knows when to protect people from world-rendering doom.
Seriously, hearing this bus breached data to use a civilian to contain a Cognitohazard breach is something commendable.
"Benefits out weighing the risks," huh?
AGREED....This is WELL DESERVED!!
Full set of wits, able and willing to follow rules if reasonably communicated, capable of understanding the consequences of both a containment breath and an information breach or breach of the veil, fairly predictable and amiable personality, yes definately a good candidate for thaumiel.
The friendly bus is just a casual part time employee of the foundation at this point. Definitely deserving of that thaumiel designation after helping stop a cognitohazard!
Since the bus is not an organic being, and it can shapeahift into any form it wants, would it not be possible that it could save humans during a certain 001 event concerning exposure to sunlight?
@@azerdraco3146 Depends on if it is considered biological, if it is, then it is a puddle too.
@tbg8365 Likely not, perhaps it could actually save humans from sunlight, but that wouldn't stop the already lost from attempting to damage it to convert the survivors.
@@amoralmarker6503 I wonder if it needs fuel? If not then it could potentially become some kind of aircraft or maybe even a submarine or heck, a spaceship, Probably safer than just driving around city roads.
Something I really like about this one is how they establish early on that the bus betrayed the Foundation and told someone classified information that they promised they wouldn't do, and then later on it's revealed that it was 100% justified in doing so and did it to help the Foundation.
It's the Foundation, they'll find a way to chain it up.
It didn't even do it to help the Foundation, really, it did it to save the world. Arguably a sign of even greater benevolence.
Wait a second. Cheese Wiz, is that you??
One of the few scps I would feel relatively safe meeting.
Oddly, the way it works it might have already met you and you wouldn't really notice.
This was AWESOME. A foundation-driven, independently functioning SCP, acting as wellspring of knowledge in the event of a loss of the Foundation or major anomalous catastrophe. Stopping breaches of containment, wielding thousands of lives worth of foundation knowledge to correct and classify anomalies, and in a K-class scenario, it might just save some human lives. A friendly, cool shapeshifter that just loves people and wants to keep the world together, just as much as the Foundation. Easily my new favorite SCP.
The hero we need
@@Rickbane01And the efficient transportation we deserve
I hope Mr. Deeds is also rescued in a K-class scenario.
Just imagine it, you, a lost soul, lucky enough to still be alive to wander the expansive, quiet remains of a dead world.
After traveling for who knows how long you finally come across another wayward survivor, a large, cloaked figure looming in the distance, they appear rather wise.
You go to approach them to say hello and that's when you realise, it's a motherfucking *_bus._*
@@RJS2003 I bet it is now fully electric, has a hot/cold A.C. with good enough air filters to even keep radiological isotopes out & UV lights to sanitize the water it collects from humidity (so it can keep you safe & alive for a month (more if you came with food) WHILE driving you to a super-secret, forbidden & forgotten indestructible place that can help you.
-> I bet it can even shapeshift into a super-fancy "VIP_tourist_submarine" to cross the oceans [it did moved from Russia & Japan many times already].
Not only is this bus a viable method of public transportation, it may just be the most commendable public service officer ever documented
Dr. Bus might be the best employee the SCP foundation has, or will ever have.
Headcanon Accepted.
-> With the knowledge it has, it SHOULD receive at least an honorific title (if not many).
. The only reason it is not already an official employee of The Foundation is because it is neither human_(oid) shaped, nor "biological" [they have accepted "good looking enough" robots & A.I. puppeting corpses, as well as sapient dogs, serpents, dolphins, etc].
Dr. Millar deserves to smile more often.
The one time it broke the wording of the deal was to honor its spirit. Even the O5 realize that’s real loyalty there and decide to let the incident slide with no measures, even promoting it to Thaumiel.
Actually, a Thaumiel classification is something that brings "passive protections" to it that further exceeds what any non-anomalous Foundation employee could ever get (including the O-5 council itself). Only The Director would be more important.
-> Sure, an O-5 could then remove that classification... but only with a valid reason.
My headcanon for this one is it's a non-aligned Cybertronian who just wants to relax and rest far away from the great war, but also is friendly to humans. He scans a new bus mode and relocates every few years to keep from drawing too much attention to himself.
It's all fun and games until one of the passengers convinces the bus that it is an Autobot stuck in vehicle form and then helps it unlock its robot form again ...
Dr Bright dont even think about it
@@TheRadioknight you rang?
Headcanon Accepted.
-> It makes too much sense.
"Please let this be a normal SCP."
"WITH THE FRIZZ!? NOW WAY!!!"
Props to the author. This feels like a good call-back to some of the early SCPs. Weird, even a little funny, a little creepy, mysterious without being a huge wall of [redacted], and overall an enjoyable read(or listen in this case.) Good work on your end as always Volgun.
"More Halloween apropriate SCPs will follow soon" ah damn, I am probably going to prepare myself metally for the most f-up entries
Volgun hit us with the “I just wanted to smile today…” and I felt every word of it in my soul.
I can imagine the Foundation's interrogation for the internet blackout incident.
"These are standardized questions and this interrogation is really just a formality. Now, question 1. Did you attempt to initiate the blackout yourself?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"I don't have any fingers and I couldnt fit through the front door."
"Fair enough."
your comment gave me the funny mental image of it transforming into a motorbike and doing a wheelie into a building and onto a keyboard to try and input the blackout code
@@beesinpyjamas9617 It has to be "a mass transit vehicle" (so a minimum of 3 passengers, not counting the driver seat).
-> The main problem is that it has to be a real vehicle currently working ~somewhere~ (or a really well preserved museum piece) that is long but only 1 seat wide [not sure if this ever was made].
Plus it may be also restricted to those in the northern hemisphere / Asia (perhaps not even counting west Europe].
It is so nice to have a pallet cleansing Happy SCP every so often. 💜
It's a sentient, transforming bus apparently capable of moving around to all sorts of locations. Where's Ms. Frizzle?
Who knows but it's a good answer to what her bus is. Or toon logic either way good read.

Your tone of voice when saying "i just wanted to smile today" was fucking heart breaking. Seriously, i cried.
The SCP foundations bus factor is wild to think about. Thanks Volgun!
He's just a happy little guy driving around learning about things. I like him.
It's funny how SCP is "everything is in constant unimaginable danger from thousands of types of threats"
but SCP is also "So, listen, there's a guy. They are a bus." "No not the horrific ones I told you about. This one is chill."
"I just wanted to smile today" and you made me smile with this comment, Dr. Millar.
A friendly bus to curb the dreadful awkward silence between other passengers.
Obviously not intentional: but thanks for the cute bday video.
The fact 6262 cooperated with Foundation staff so much it got a "promotion" is legit awesome and a great way to end this kind of article. ^^
HAPPY BRITHDAY 🎉🎉

"I just felt like smiling today." You deserve it man, great article reading.
Please let this be a normal field trip..
With *[05 Clearance required]* No way!!!
AWWWWW-
4:38 The bus looks so happy doing what it loves.
Good to see another Thaumiel class, this bus is no snitch, and is a good addition to the catalogue.
I'm kind of curious as to why the SCP foundation didn't recruit SCP 6262 to act as a Mobile Task Force transport as it would be a perfect undercover mode of transporting agents to their assignments and would be a good debriefing area once the assignment is complete and the anomaly is contained or neutralized. 6262 is trustworthy enough that the foundation wouldn't be risking anything to bring them into the fold, and useful enough that it's telepathic capability could be used to better understand and contain anomalies that would be captured enroute to a containment facility.
I wounder how powerful 6262's psychic abilities are, if they would be able to handle an anomaly that used psychic abilities or memetic properties as a means of attack. I could see that as being an issue that would make the foundation hesitant to implement 6262 as an in-field asset- that and the fact that 6262's accrued knowledge makes it indispensable as an FCK, I could see why the foundation would want to keep them out of harms way in that case.
I think that it would rather continue it's current duties interacting with everyday civilians due to its desire to learn about the everyday events that each person is handling at the moment as opposed to being stuck doing transport duties for people whose days are probably rather similar. Also considering how helpful it's already proven itself, the response to the containment change says enough, "If it wants to drive in circles, we'll let it."
He's not interested in that. He just wants to drive people around and show them the beautiful city of Daegu.
If you pay attention, the locations and dates this things shows up at are highly suspicious. If it can make people feel like TALKING TO A BUS TELEPATHICALLY is a normal thing to do, what else can it do to your brain? What else might it convince people to do? Can it "tweak" people's minds and put ideas there?
Like maybe the idea that it should be allowed to roam around uncontained.
@@atomicskull6405I thought the fact that it reveals stuff previously unknown about anomalies and how to better contain them was a hint that it knows exactly how to play the foundation to keep itself free.
@@atomicskull6405 Exactly. It's wildly out of character for the Foundation to permit this: there wasn't even an attempt made at containment as far as I can tell. It's one thing for the SCP to throw their hands up and say "look we can't contain this thing, but it seems harmless enough, so let's just monitor it." but it's extremely suspicious that they don't seem to even try, or seriously consider proposals from the (presumably still uncompromised) new agents assigned to this SCP.
It's obviously a trick.
And the comments seem to be mostly "aw, how nice, a good SCP, so pleasant." Which means ITS GOT TO THEM TOO.
Not every SCP has to be evil or have some hidden meaning behind it. What this SCP wants the most is information, new information, if the world ends because of some containment breach then he won't be getting any new information at all, that will be the end of him. He doesn't intervene in "minor" non-world ending events because there's nothing to gain from doing so, in fact, he has more to gain from letting these things happen and seeing the aftereffects, even if this means the loss of human life.
@BDVinci I didn't think this thing was evil before, but I think you've convinced me. Letting people, especially people you know and interact with daily, die for the new experience sounds pretty evil to me.
This was a really nice one~
And, now that you specifically pointed it out, I think it might actually be fun if you chose the month of spook to highlight the more friendly, less horrific SCPs. I mean, we have the rest of the year for torment and dread when it comes to SCPs, don't we? (I know you probably have the month planned out, potentially with other videos already in progress, but I can dream.)
This bus is so cute and I love it a lot. I want only the best for him.
By 2077 6262 will shape-shift into a Delamain taxicab, taking chooms from place to place in style and security.
I see what ya did there. This made me smile just as Dr. Millar saying he wanted to smile.
I tend to find the Thaumiel class SCPs to be the most interesting, and I'm not really sure why.
I have the mental image of the bus silently geeking out for 6 hours over all the knowledge it just got.
Aww, a friendly and curious bus. Exactly what I needed this evening 😊
This illustrates why Thaumiel is one of the few "other classifications" that don't piss me off. The other, if you're wondering, is Archon.
For those of you who don't know, it basically goes like this:
Archon = We theoretically COULD contain it, but we've decided against it.
Thaumiel = Don't even think about containing it!
The one information breach illustrates why it's so important that 6262 NOT be contained. If 6262 had been contained and unable to relay the credentials and procedures to a random civilian, we would all be dead.
Yes, in thr SCP universe, The Magic School Bus exists and I’d just as friendly.
This cheered me up.
Thanks for the videos, especially the wholesome ones like this one.
"I just wanted to smile today"
-Every Foundation researcher ever
This was a great SCP. As others have said before; among all the massively catastrophic world-ending SCPs, it's so nice and refreshing to see a good, happy SCP. It reminds us not everything in the collective SCPverse is dramatic and apocalyptic, and it does get a bit old hearing so many of them.
Sometimes I feel like in the only person who expresses this opinion.
Always find Safe class SCPs more interesting then Keter.
Yeah, I don't mind a good keter SCP or one with dramatic logs or vast amounts of information, but too much of a good thing is bad, and we see a lot of those.
Safe SCPs are underrated and so nice, as they can still be grandious and important without being world-ending.
Man we need more of these. This was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful listen. No cosmic deity bent on destroying everything. No other world nonsense that is so confusing to understand.
Good stuff
I like the horror but this one is good.
I've never gotten to an upload this quickly. Love your stuff! Keep up the great work :)
The bus should be considered a researcher of the foundation
Someone give that bus Employee of The Month!
I like how one of its hobbies is just helping people commute lmao.
I like the implication it just shruged and survived the bomb.
Also, in my head cannon it apologized for the breach of confidence, but it figured it'd make his friends happy and the cognitohazard was benefiting no one.
It seems to like humans. So human on human violence would be treated differently that scp to human violence
This one is incredibly impressive!! I'm so glad that a bus like this is hanging around. And that it's so loyal.
Just remember…
*The bus KNOWS what you did*
YOU BROUGHT BACK THE POST-READ THOUGHTS! Yes!
Wonder what happens when an entity like this goes down one of those anomalous highways
Great story, thanks Volgun, this one made me smile
I love the character of Dr. Miller. I love listening to these at work. Thanks for the help keeping my sanity.
The friendly bus is great truly wholesome
Lovely to hear a wholesome scp. Happy these videos are still being made
Man there’s so much you could do with one you could one a story where it’s a NYC cab or London train just talking with all sorts of people would probably be super wholesome
I hadn't read this scp article before hearing your reading and was pleasantly surprised! Thank you! :)
i love thaumiel class scps. theyre always such fun entries.
This kind of thing is what REALLY makes the SCP universe shine. You need something to contrast all the awfulness.
"More Halloween appropriate SCP articles will follows soon. I just wanted to smile today."
If that isn't delightfully forboading I don't know what is
I've heard of "It's such a comfort to take the bus and leave the driving to us", but this is ridiculous
Forget SCPs, we need more _people_ like this bus
Though honestly if they want to put it to work, I'd ask it for help on replicating its resistance to cognitohazards.
Ohhhh I'm so glad we've been hearing Dr. Millar be himself more lately. I've missed him ❤ thank you!
Wow. I really, really like this one. Thank you for this.
SCPs like this one give me hope in our dismal world. Thank you TheVolgun for giving us a nice SCP. I for one really needed it.
Man, the civilian who the bus told the credentials to has a story all their own. Imagine, a bus tells you what you need to do to save the world, you pull it off, not having known about anomalies or the Foundation, hell man you probably were on your way to work. And then your memory is wiped, and you don't remember that you saved the world. You get on the same bus, going to the same job, completely unaware of what you've done.
Also, the fact that the Bus had to pull over and read SCP articles for 6 hours when he found out about them... same, brother, same
Consodering how Halloween is all about the mundane life taking on a horror theme, I think its very appropriate for horror-themed SCP stories to take on the occasional happy story during Halloween 😁
My one complaint about this article-- and something suspicious, as a couple other comments have pointed out-- is that the bus was originally classified as *safe*, despite being an uncontained sentient anomaly. Something is very wrong about that.
Finally caught a fresh video, can't wait for more, believe it or not I've watched all your vids within a week, theyre that addicting
This was neat. A great concept.
What a wholesome bus! I love it!
We need more nice SCPs in the world, so thank you for covering such a lovely one most of us didn't know of! Also good on you for doing it to let yourself smile.
A good desire to have...to smile ;) Wonderfully presented as always.
Im going to steal this bus for a d&d idea. Love your narration.❤
thanks man keep it up
So the researchers posted their comments about it in Daegu in 2017, yet it hadn't been documented driving around in Daegu until 2018? Did I take too many amnestics?
Ooh free way to lore dump my players in the scp dnd campaign
Thank you, TheVolgun.
I love the return of the commentary at the end while in character
Thanks for the smile 😊; this was a fun one.
Great to hear something happy on a Monday!
That was wonderful change of story.
You should start a tradition where you read out an scp that's specifically friendly at least once during the Halloween month
Nothing wrong with a smile every now and then 😊
Awesome video 🫡
Wow that ending mentioning Halloween appropriate articles really SNATCHED whatever immersion I was holding on to.
Always a good one to come back to, Doctor :)
Always love the rare helpful ones
The fact it says it's been around for "many years, and in many forms," but won't specify _how_ long or how many, is fun to think about. Could this thing have been an anomalous, talking horse at some point? Only shapeshifting into carridges and buggies as human transportation advanced?
I absolutely love this
SCP Foundation: So yeah, we're literally in war with world ending anomalies that could destroy us at any moment.
A fucking bus: So, can I help or what?
this bus has an evil brother who is Ito's infamous ice-cream bus
one of the first things i was reminded about
this must be the vehicle equivalent of getting inspired in the shower
