The only truly anonomalous thing about this SCP is that Israel and Syria could agree on anything.
It's not like they ever had a choice in the matter, the Foundation has ways to make world leaders agree to things and think it was their free will to do so.

9:55 - To those who were wondering, as I was, what an "amputation by avulsion" means... It means that both of his legs and one of his wings were ripped the fuck off.
Some context: the genetic marker is probably the Cohanim Jewish priestly class. Kahn is a common last name they have. In olden days, on Yom Kippur, the holiday when we ask forgiveness for our sins and transgressions against others, the first priest would enter the inner sanctum of the temple and speak God's name in his prayers. If his meditation wavered, he would die in there. The other priests put a chain around his ankle to fish him out in case he died. No one else could come inside, for the holiness would burn you. That probably explains the immunity. It also probably means that the veil will open once again in a year now that the ritual was properly performed.
Melachim means angels or messengers. I dont know what the prpcedure would be.

Ok so, i saw a lot of confused people on this one, so i'll say what i understood and if i get anything wrong please correct me
Somewhere around syria there is a complex of 3 rooms, in the third is a raised platform surrounded by a metal cylinder, 3 times a day it lifts releasing a lot of radiations, to "contain" it a ritual must be performed wich gives radiation resistance to performers and lowers the cylinder, the ritual was kind of reversed engineered by the foundation and they are constantly adjusting it, the ritual must also be performed only by people that meet a list of criteria, similar to the ritual itself the foundation doesen't know exactly what all these criteria are
Before the foundation arrived it's presumed the ritual was carried on by the weird humanoid (man modified by the ritual?) that died briefly after containment
There are 2 groups in the foundatuon that contain this scp, team B actually performes the ritual, team A handles the logistics
Team b are unwilling to reveal what is behind the cylinder, 05s proceed to make a performer look under the cylinder directly and when interviewed (nearly dead from the experienxe) describes an injured figure that presumably betrayed his kind to help humanity also the function of the ritual is to protect him (from his people?)lowering the veil
In the interview it's also said that the entity wants the director to join him "back home" when he does, after performing (alone?) a revised ritual the veil stops lifting 3 times a day and the foundation is now ready to perfom a not specified protocol once/if it lifts again
The foundation also claims that the ritual is a cognitohazard and people that witness it become affected by some religious mania, it's no clear tho if this is true or if the "mania" is just a logical result of understanding whats under the veil (or maybe is a little bit of both)
Also failure to contain this anomaly is a prerequisite for a whole bunch on k-class scenarios
(This obviously is a very streamlined version of the story and ignores a lot of themes, mostly the religious references, and characters, also english is not my first language, have pity on me)

Good summery. And I think it is a little bit of both mania and logical reason. That is to say the ritual to accept the responsibility of the ritual invokes a mania that makes one more capable to at doing the ritual. Sort of numbing the affected to the horror of what they must do to themselves to do what is right. No one of sound mind could carry it out to the very end like that otherwise. I guess you can say it is a kindness to those whom have to perform the ritual to allow them the means to keep doing it. But until the question is raised by doing the ritual the effect will not be administered. It implies the imprisoned entity is not the danger but the kin to that entity that feel that entity overstepped its bounds.
Excellent summary. Spared me much of the time I would've spent continuing to scour for the details on 228-Melecah. (Which seems to be some sort of "screw it, destroy everything inside" measure, but we just don't know).
I don't think it's a true cognitohazard. To me, it's a little logic, a little mania, and a whole lotta radiation poisoning.

One of your videos a while ago had a segment at the end you called ‘Extra Credit’, which was an out-of-character explanation of what just happened for the more obscure SCPs. Maybe it’s still too early in the morning for me (it’s 5:30am in Australia), but I need the Extra Credit on this one.
He's almost done no extra credit for any of his videos after he started either he hasn't got a video that might need explanation or he doesn't like the concept anymore.
I don't know exactly but I seem to recall him trying it out but the extra time spent on that wasn't reflected in watch metrics and in balance he's had to chop and change the formula to yield to The Algorithm.
Much like all content creators, it's a balancing act.

I just had a fascinating yet funny thought. It's always so interesting to me, that when the foundation finds an anomaly they can't move, (usually location based) then they'll just casually set a foundation site right there just to contain it.
It becomes hilarious when i lmagine the foundation literally building an establishment. Like you know how restaurants and gas stations are often stationed nearly next to each other? I like the think the foundation finds an immobile anomaly, constructs a building to trap it in shortly after, then finds another immobile yet completely unrelated anomaly just around the corner. Say "Welp, time to put another building up". Lmao

Haplotype cmh-6, also refered to as the "Y-chromosomal aaron", is the hypothesized patrilineal line to the most common recent ancestor of the jewish priestly cast. Who, according to the bible, was Aaron, the brother of moses. This leads me to suspect that the figure behind the veil is moses. Moses, according to the bible, died all alone in the wilderness upon reaching the promised land but before ever setting foot into it and he then was buried by god himself. The bible also insists that no one knows where god buried moses. So yeah, this site is probably the burial site of moses.

This is one of my favorite SCPs. It takes a traditional Judeo-Christian concept and strips it down to the "Science" behind it. I believe in the SCP verse Yahweh is like Yaldabaoth and Mekhane but gave humanity the tools to defend itself.
I kinda have that impression of this SCP too. That the idea is to buy time so humanity can learn to take care of itself despite the animosity of the rest of creation.
That would explain the archangel with the flaming sword outside the garden of Eden, then.
If that's the case, then it could be theorized that the YHWH of the SCP universe could be a god of human evolution such as Mekhane and Yaldabaoth. But seems to want to evolve humans within the form we have now, instead of some possible mechanical form or some beastly flesh amalgam.
It's jesus christ, injured from his crusifixion, spilling forth his celestial radiance which is radioactive, attended by an angel performing a ritual to mask his location from his god. Pretty obvious.

the humanoid that they found on the outside and dissected has all the earmarks of either an angel, or a fallen-angel either way, it's a being that has to be divine in a way and for some reason the ritual it was doing also contributed to it's malnutrition. I guess even Angels needed to eat something but when it's too busy making sure the veil stays put it doesn't have time?
No, it's implied that the malnutrition happened because it was contained by the foundation, and since the foundation only offered human food, it died. In other words, if the humanoid was never contained and foundation let it stay in SCP-1348, it'll stay alive and do the procedure for a long time.
Near as I can tell, god exists, but didn't mean to create us. It was an accident, and the other beings like god punished him for this mistake. God doesn't regret it, but wants to hide the hurt he's going through to spare humanity the guilt of what he did to save them. The end's coming for this god, and it wants to take us "home" with it, wherever that is.
I listen to all these videos like an audiobook in work. I cant wait for the next 1+ hour video.

This is my favorite SCP video. It's just so well narrated and the story is so sad and yet beautiful.

I love this. It's a puzzle of entities and events, as humanity is a puzzle of peoples, cultures and beliefs that, when assembled, unlock many mysteries.
The way 9142 described the god-thing behind the veil makes me think of the God Emperor of Mankind.
I must say, you picked quite a day to post this of all skips. Great video as always
"Father is doing his best, but he's been badly hurt by life and we were an accident." But applied to the idea of an abrahamic god in a world with other gods that would eat him if they had the chance.
The ritual is to hide a "loving" God that's "trying his best."
Unfortunately it's the love of a negligent and alcoholic father that knows pain his children can't, and holds that up as an excuse.
Believing him is understandable, sympathetic, everyone wants to think their father loves them - and here are his excuses for the beatings, and the drinking, and aren't we lucky he decided not to smother us in the crib as we were an accident. We owe him extra for that. This is our obligation, surely.
But if you look at him directly you see he's a pathetic thing now, even if he wasn't always. And do we owe him anything if our creation was merely an accident?
The main thing is that God isn't protecting us in this one, the rituals are to protect him. And they are definitely manipulative and memetic.
This is a great interpretation, and helps fill in some of the gaps in my understanding.
This might be my favourite scp so far. 10/10

I’m having a hard time working out exactly wtf is going on with this SCP… I dunno if it’s just me or if it’s all the redactions, or even if it’s just the document itself being obscure and vague, but I just…well, I don’t understand it, I guess.

Idk if you’ve ever been struggling your way through a maths exam, and end up getting all hung up on a particular problem you can’t solve because you either simply don’t comprehend the concept of how to solve it, or perhaps skipped doing the homework that would’ve otherwise taught you said concept? It feels like that.
@@kadoji remember listening to a reading of this SCP a few months ago, it was done by a russian channel and I barely understood it too, i think i was also like half asleep maybe? Don't really remember, but this article did peek my interest since i picked up the implication that this was some giant reference to Semitic religions, after some time i decided to check out what people said on the discussion page on the wiki, there were also a lot of confused people but some did pick up some references that i had absolutely no clue about, many even formulated their own theories and conclusions which helped me realise what some of the stuff in the article actually meant, though people still were somewhat conflicted on certain aspects of the article. On that discussion page the author gave a bunch of hints and the like, in general being pretty vague and coy, but he did provide a link to a full explanation of the article on page 3 in the discussion. I think it will be better if you read the explanation provided by the author but one thing I will say is that this article is heavily related to SCP-1427 (Extinguishing stele).

I like how the Foundation have chalked up the religious experiences of the different involved parties as 'mania' and memetic effects. It shows the limitations in their worldview, as cold and clinical as it is.

I would love to say that this was an awesome Article, but while it's got great potential, it's quite a confusing mess (and I am not saying this because of the presence of scientific terminology; that's always appreciated when used properly). It could really use a rewrite to untangle the narrative and especially make the containment procedures clearer.
It's not complicated, but the way it's written, it's unnecessarily confusing, ultimately distracting from the meat of the Article, which itself is made confusing in an attempt at playing mysterious.
I still like this SCP, but when it needs an explanation, it's because it has failed its purpose. An SCP Entry is supposed to explain a phenomenon to those who are reading it.

Some SCPs are meant to be left to interpretation and mystery.
I'd say it realistically hits the nail on the head. It is confusingly technical on the scientific level and on the theological level because it is two perspectives trying to understand something that can't be known. This confusion is represented in the article.
