I never realized there was a spin-off book (and audiobook). They shoulda asked if there were any plans for any more spin-off media.
If I'd been in the audience I would have asked if they'd watched The Thick of It, which was the original inspiration for the show.
Binged the show in a month. Just fantastic. Dare I say as good as Seinfeld? No doubt the finale is better! A must watch!

Andrew maybe I could see. But Furlong was in almost every show and his aid as well. I hate to say it this way but I don't remember her name but the black lady who played Sue. She was a big part for was it 6 years. Why they wrote her out I don't know.

Veep is one of the few shows that ended at exactly the right time in exactly the right way. The political landscape in the real world made it so hard to sustain the right kind of comedic tone, avoiding the descent into a bizarre parody of reality.
As it was, any trump-related stuff they had to spread between Selina (election rigging) and Jonah (all the crazy).

Selina Meyer and Daenerys Targaryen essentially had the same ending, where they lost every bit of humanity in them and did whatever fucked up things to get to the place they wanted to be, only to realize essentially theyve lost everything that meant something to them. I still loved Dany in the end, but I absolutely fucking hated Selina for what she did to Gary
Daenerys destroyed a city and her nephew lover killed her. Selina became president and hated it. Also, Selina started to become hateful in the sixth season and by the seventh was just an irredeemably awful human. So by the time she fucked Gary over, it was just a cherry.

It’s inevitable that writers and actors so invested in how politics is done in DC would “predict” what’s to come, but that speaks more to their ability to be at the pulse of it.
Wish the interviewer was also an actor/writer with an interest in US politics so we could get more questions besides “isn’t it crazy that the crazy thing you did happened in real life?”
Who’s watching this in 2021 and cringing at the Anti-Vax comments. Veep was a game changer.

Loved the show. Sad the black character was originally an afterthought (typical) and then VERY happy and relieved he became a fixture to the end. Annoying how white writers ensure 98% of the cast must be white.

I am 66 and only ever liked one USA show before and that was 60 years ago (Bilko) but Veep and Curb Your Enthusiasm were fantastic.
The acting and writing in Veep was sensational.
