Timothy's "Hung President" gag is very reminiscent of Veep's British parent, The Thick of It, when Cabinet Minister Nicola Murray stands on front of a poster for candidate Liam Bentley in such a way that on TV it looks like "I AM BENT". You'd have to think Veep director Chris Addison, who was in The Thick of It, would have seen the value of "Hung President".

It's no stretch to say that 385K views and a couple hundred comments is, for Colbert, subpar. It's quite sad really, given that Colbert's is the most overtly political late night show on TV.
More to the point -- and I'll gladly defend this claim -- Veep is one of the greatest comedies ever made. The funniest, the darkest, the most clever, and the most brutal. And, just in case some dizzy spurt wants to whine about 'highbrow' content, Veep is also the silliest, with a gags-per-minute score that would leave a multi-camera network sitcom in its dust.

Julia is effing AGELESS. 20 years on, Jerry has grey hair, Jason Alexander looks like he really does give the brit milah to unfortunate Jewish infants (as a Catholic, I can relate) and Michael Richards could easily double for Michael Douglas if he had to. None of that is an impediment to male actors, but the instant a woman starts to show her age she's looking at roles opposite Dame Helen Mirren or as the evil grandmother on a daytime soap. JL-D is 58 years old, ffs - compare her face when she laughs to someone like Nicole Kidman and you'll see the difference between good genes and regular injections with a potentially lethal toxin. If its makeup, fantastic - no-one in the public eye looks the same sans makeup as they do with it, but I'd back those genes over Estee Lauder any day of the week. VEEP's sarcastic tone often borders on the pathological but she carries it off week after week.
    You go, girl.

SuperKing604 The creator of Veep wrote and directed a movie “ in the loop” , which lead to a bbc show name The Thick of it. After that they made an American version Veep

I watch this show so often its insane. Its The Office but with the vulgarity of the political world.

Shame they refused the hung president joke. It would have been a nice homage to the I am Bent joke from The Thick of It

This show was and still is so fucking amazing, and now I’m just gonna sit here and cry because there isn’t anything quite like it (besides The Thick of It by the same creator even though it was British government and fuck England). Hoping Armando does something as good soon.
