Thank you for sharing this. I learned a lot, trying to help my husband with massaging his legs. Gave me a better understanding why he is having trouble.
Cannot thank you enough. Finally I see the problem from power walking and the rowing machine. Wearing an ortho insole since last week. The difference can be felt and I feel much relieved.
It's a great presentation on the cause. What I disagree with is the use of an orthotic for the solution. I find it better to strengthen the foot and entire leg and locomotive system. Should be able to run and walk barefoot without some add on device like an orthotic.
Inserts and new running shoes help. If you have owned your current shoes for 1 year, you probably need a new pair. Highly recommend trying on some Asics and New Balance.
My alignment and pronation is perfect. I still get them when i ramp up my running by a lot, run long road runs without conditioning and plush shoes collapsing causing over pronation. Cycle in some orthotics during training to rest those muscles that prevent over pronation and cause the tearing at the bone.
@@hajrieavdija9662 I have been treating shin splints for over 20 years as a physical therapist. The only consistent risk factor for shin splints on the inside (medial) side of your leg is ankle instability. Most people do not even realize that they have ankle instability. It can be genetic or from mild sprains over the years. When I stabilize my patients ankles, their pain goes away. The best product that I found is the Bauerfeind Sports Ankle Support. It is low profile and will not restrict your motion. Is fits like a sock and is very comfortable. I have struggled with Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome for a while now, but this video has cleared up a little bit why I get it. But I still don’t understand something about me specifically. My pain is in the left leg but my pronation looks better on the left leg than the right leg. Why is that?
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to learn about exercises for shin splints injuries try Mackorny Run Fast Blueprint (just google it )? Do you road run? Roads especially country roads bow convexly that is the middle is high edges low. This angle has caused my left leg shin splint. I run towards traffic in the uk. This shortens the tibialis muscle and creates stiffness leading to pain. Think about your most common route. Could this contribute?
I was a kid got them all the time I had pretty much my whole life I loved playing basketball 🏀 but I couldn’t play more than 5 minutes and now I get then when I sleep and I only can jump to the pain meds mussles to un-kink it hurts like hell I only was told use Liquid heat and I I remember I remember having to put cream in my legs -I was like 7-9 yerars old alls I can remember

Hi! I’d like to ask why did he says in the video at 1:36 “painless encountered right behind the tibia” if he continued as “so much more spread out on the back portion of the tibia rather than very localised”? Is it a mistake by any chance or if it’s not than what’s spread out if it’s not the pain? I apologise I’m not native English so it could be my mistake I’m just a bit confused.
I got tibia fracture back in 2010. Recently, 2 montsh ago i have fall to the ground from 1.8 meters roof. It is 2 months now since that fall, even though i can walk, run, but I've been feeling random dull pain in tibia of my previously broken leg. What should i do and how can i get rid of it?
Yes- both the insoles or orthotics and Shoes help support the foot. Pronation of the foot can be a cause of lower extremity challenges and the shoe and orthotic help to reduce foot pronation
SLO Motion Shoes can you guys provide a link to your website or products ? I’d like to find out more about what you guys have to offer. I’m not entirely sure if my problem is shin splints, compartment syndrome or something else. I’m also watching videos on how to release tight fascia in the lower legs and feet as well. Don’t know anything about shoes or insoles. That’s why i ask. Thanks in advance !
I have had this problem almost 12 years where in whenever i try to walk fast or even start jogging, the muscles on shin part & below on both the legs gets too much tight like within a minute or two i have to stope for a while. Sometimes i cant even move my foot up and down from ankle. I dont know yet what is causing this. Consulted many doctors, but nothing. I cant even sit on feet even for a minute. Sometimes after walking fast for 2-3 minutes the tighteness is so much that i both feet behave like they are not there. Is it Shin splint, SF ,Medial s syndrome..dont know..once i took course of vit b12 injections that provided relief a bit but situation is same...
Would you recommend that aid for someone that is prone to rolling the ankle outwards and repeatedly spraining the ankle? My osteo just told me that the constant ache in my ankle (that I put down to a big grade 2 sprain 2 years ago) is most likely a shin splint because my ankle is starting to collapse inwards as I walk. Looking for anything that can help.

He's lucky to have you

after 2 years would you still recommend an ortho insole?
If the guy whos being demonstarted on has a shin splint i bet they somehow edited his screams of agony out cause shin splints are crazy
Honestly, like right now when i press on my splints it hurtsssss

But if you add an orthotic, the foot won't "learn" to come back in a good shape, right? The problem is the toes. The toes are not spaced enough.
So it can't be on outside of leg, ?🤔
I started having this and I am concerned as I want to play on my schools basketball team.
Same lol
I feel alot of pain not when I work just if i sit down or laying in the bed usually in one leg so is that shin pain

No, it won’t
Which Nike shoes are best to get rid of interior shin splints 🙁
@Will Smith are you will Smith twin brother 😃
you should get good stability shoes like asics or brooks
Don’t buy Nikes. Look into Reebok or Adidas, even Pumas running shoes. My recommendation would be the Nanos if you can afford them.
Dint show the shape
so fix the foot by "supporting it" making it weaker and less stable without said support... silly
Orthotics is the most absolute BS treatment. Especially for athletes who's life depend on their sport.
This looks like an obesity issue
