As a Sydneysider, it makes me happy to see people able to access the rail corridor without being treated like a terrorist! And no one was being stupid either.
It's good to see a good turn out and everyone being sensible and enjoying them selves. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
Makes me happy to see so many people turn out and stand by the tracks at various places and platforms to see it steam by.
It was certainly a good turn out 👍😊
@@hoolydooly5072 🤣🤣👍😊
@@hoolydooly5072 yawn. Says the guy with a phone made out of mining.
Another awesome video, well done, keep em coming. 👏
Thank you. I will 👍😊
I can't believe that they make the driver sit on the buffer beam!! ha ha. I enjoyed the trip.
It's a bit uncomfortable 🤣🤣 Very happy to hear you enjoyed it 👍 😊
love that whistle.IB
It does sound good. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
The steam trains sure can pull the crowds.
They certainly do 👍😊
at 7:16 pretty good spot(on the left) to photograph - below the lines and the train. Be a good shot! Or at 10:18! Man what a crowd
Certainly a lot of people 👍😊
I don't know exactly why, but I was fascinated hearing the wheels rolling over switches and crossings, and the sound it made. It made me feel much more connected to the journey.
There is something about the sound of the wheels over the track 😀 Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
6:21 several years ago I walked the old route to Mont Park, still a lot of evidence exactly where the line ran if you walk through the Cherry St grassland reserve, a mate had an old roadways from the late 1950s that showed the original line going up to Mont Park, I think it was closed off in the early '60s, I lived in Macleod for 20 years just opposite the footy oval there so used to do a bit of exploring.
I haven't visited there for a few years now but, yes there was a bit to see along there. There are still some relics around the system if you look hard enough to give a hint of times past. 👍😊
3:32 "Rosanna" - a "Toto-ly" appropriate name for the suburb! (see what I did there?) LOL
Omg 🙄👍🤣
@neilforbes you are 99% correct see what i did there yes you guessed it LOL
@@top40researcher31 don't encourage him 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍😊
@@top40researcher31 I'll send you off to *Africa* for that! LOL
@@neilforbes416 this train is full on steam its not steam diesel electric like what you have in northern NSW if you know what i mean 😀
stacks of ppl watching...Rosanna and Macleod were popular. Thanks for the vids in this series. i went and looked up the history of the 'K' class here in Oz...very impressive! Interesting about the crowds as when the trip started not many about - not like the crowded platforms - social media influence?
Probably social media. It is a big influence now. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
cannot imagine why so many people line the track(s) with their camera(s) out. nope. cannot imagine why.
awesome video. tanx a rot dude.
As one of them, I can say it's because we are interested in the trains and like filming them as a hobby.
Very happy to hear you enjoyed it 👍😊
This journey has been fascinating. A nearly 80 year old steam engine running through a modern city.
A mix of the old and new. Good to see it can still happen 👍 😊
the next station is Diamond Creek 😊
👍😊
great video! eltham is my home town aswell
Great stuff. Very happy you enjoyed the ride 👍 😊
Your doing well Putty Cat.
Meooww 🐈 🐈🐈👍😊
Any plans to do the Belgrave line perhaps
The suburban system is on my list. Just have to find the time to do it. 👍😀
That tunnel between Watsonia and Greensborough will be extended by a few hundred metres in 2028 for North East Link
Ok. 👍😊
Beautiful ❤❤❤. Why is there only one track to Eltham?
The Hurstbridge line is very old school, the line between Clifton Hill & Westgarth was only duplicated within the last 20 years or so!
As said, it is old school. The double line finished at Greensborough up until recently. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. 👍😊
With these push/pull trains how much power comes from the push engine? Like when the throttle was opened a bit how exhaust note changed, sounded like there was a lot of coasting.
The engine at the rear usually just assists when required but can apply a lot of effort if they decide 👍😊
