  • Part two of a series of films regarding Dorset and its part in world war two. In this video, I visit Castleton Harbour in Portland, Dorset, and check out the two Phoenix caissons that where used in the Mulberry floating harbours over in Normandy on D-Day, with some history of the Caissons, and there part in the D-Day harbour.
    Castletown harbour ( called Crabbers wharf today )was one of the major embarkation points for allied soldiers, going over to the landing beaches. The Americans called it ` The biggest little port in Europe` Thanks for watching !!
