      That's funny he mentions the Honda transmission fluid, I just did an ATF drain and fill today on my 2003 Odyssey, 171k miles on the original transmission. Unlike what Scotty said to do, I don't baby mine, I have all the seats removed and I use it for work, I don't treat it kindly sometimes but the acceleration on that 3.5L VTEC is pretty sweet, even if it is a heavy vehicle. I'm looking for a relatively new (2018, 2019) Chrysler Pacifica to replace it, I'm sure the Honda tranny will blow any day now.

      @@dimab8753 that's not the case, (well it is) but it's mainly Renaults fault. Nissan merged with Renault so they could both co-develop engines and probably save a million on R&D (whoop di freakin doo you're already spending 100+M to develop a decent engine let's cut it down JUST one or two) and thus they aren't as motivated to make a great car for the amount of money they are doing with R&D.
      An alternative to this is the C4 C4 Corvette, you should look the story up for it, GM didn't see the sense in making another Corvette so they gave the Corvette team I think ONLY 140 million to develop the entire car. I believe the engineers developing it were only allowed to after work and not during their paid work time. The fact that they had a limited budget made them think outside the box with everything they did. The C4 might not be a looker but it's my favorite story wise. It's unfortunate GM didn't see potential in the Corvette brand anymore but on the bright side it makes us respect engineers who have the same passion we do rather than just a passion for money

    Hello' Scotty, I have a 89 nissan pulsar nx xe that drove fine when i parked it 2 weeks ago but i started it today and it is shuddering and wont move in any gear drive or reverse and making a grindy scratching sound. All i did 2 weeks before was replace the wore out govenor gear and transmission filter, new gaskets and oil pump seal. Why won't it move now? Please help. Engine is a Ga16i trans is automatic: RL3F01A And yes fluid levels are full. Will Lucas or Seafoam help if its just clogged up.

    Regarding the Honda V6......change the fluids regularly like Scotty says, baby it until it's at normal operating temps. Then you should be able to hammer on it.....Honda for god sakes.
    Muscle car and V6 Mustang is an oxymoron......if you buy a Stang get a Coyote V8.
    For around $5k I know an engine builder here in Hayward, CA that will do a full performance rebuild top to bottom on any pushrod V8. And he does good work. Just like a good mechanic.....find a good engine builder.

      Nice That pretty solid man....but nissans biggest downfall is thier CVTs suck I think all CVTs are garbage but nissan especially. For instance my aunts 2015 altima shes had for 5 years and the transmission shifts so poorly even after 2 flushes. You don't hear too much about engine failure with thier cars so luckily those seem to have the good old Japanese reliability. I do love my infiniti G37x luckily its got a regular automatic transmission. I'm trying to make it one of the quickest N/A Gs out there. That is untill its paid off and I go and either supercharge or turbo it haha but if nissan would build all their cars more like infinitis without cvts then I think they would have a better reputation in modern times.

    • @sewj8046
      @sewj8046 Год назад

      😅 you do realize the replacement of the CVT, eliminates any ability to say "otherwise". The highest cost of replacement parts for a vehicle is an engine or a transmission. The replacement of either is not a good repair history for the car.

    For the enthusiast, the hydraulic power steering systems offered much better feel and feedback from the steering rack. The communication between the operator's hands and the front wheels was much more precise.
    Electronic assists are getting much better. The amount of programming to get the electric servos to function like a fluid coupling is a LOT.
