Bro I have to say thank you. Because of not just playing this arr. , you were just proved that this is possible to play it. And believe it or not, history should write your name next to roman's name
Impressive hard work and dedication, to say the least!! Hope to see the progress a few months later in one take of this outstanding project Roman Kim, definitely the GOAT of violin technique and virtuosism
This is great. It gives us a perspective on how the violin must feel when Roman Kim plays. Are you wearing his special glasses to be able to play this? Incredible you have achieved this level.
You must remember that Roman Kim played this on a fretted violin, so all of those crazy positions are easier. And you did it with a standard violin, so this is even more impressing. Great job, keep it up. Would love to hear from you the entire piece.
I’m pretty sure they’re just tapes. Frets would mean you don’t place your fingers directly on them (I think 🤷♂️). Either way, they aren’t that lifted off the violin and I’m pretty sure he uses the same violin for concerts as the videos, so I’m pretty sure he takes the tapes off for concerts. Also I’m pretty sure having frets or tapes doesn’t matter TOO much when you play as fast and as difficult of stuff as Roman does lmao. Also, damn that was a really good performance of Roman’s Beethoven 5.
His original would take me, lifetime ha ha. The thing is even my current version is reduced, and I'm struggling. My next goal is simply to play a little faster and a little more in tune without stopping in a few months hopefully, step by step
@@SanTheViolinDude OH MY GOD, you're playing this by ear and looking at Roman Kim's fingering???? The amount of effort you put is insane. As a teenage classical guitar amateur, you drove me crazy. And how did you accept your student's dare that easily???
@@m-og9fq Thank you, the first minute was the hardest. but I took it slow and learned 30 sec at a time, and before I know it it was already the end. I wanted to show the student anything is possible with consistent practice and a little bit of crazy haha
I'm just using a normal bow, I had to tighten it more because I didn't have enough bow hair left. The flute-like sound is called harmonics, you do it by floating your finger on the string
Sounds like a flute and a violin. This is the start of next level.❤

Thank you for the encouragement, I'll keep practicing hard

Oh I was wondering what those were in the video, I want one too 🤣
It isnt fretted
They’re not real frets, just guidelines. Still very much a microtonal instrument.

It kind of is, you can see the 3d geometry off of the reflection; I suppose it's just not enough to actually make bad fingering sound in tune
Wowow, well done!
Great ❤ keep doing... is not easy work 👍👍👍
You are very good!!
Oh, thank You! If there another one who (almost) did This, than Roman is just a man, not the devil himself.
❤
👏 👏👏
How long would you say it'd take you to practice to reach Roman Kim's original's accuracy at the original speed? A couple months ?

Could you give us the partiture to try it?
I didn't actually write down the notes, I learned it 30 sec at a time and just memorized it as I went. Maybe I'll write it out when I'm less busy

Is that a baroque bow?
Also, some of the parts sound like a flute. Its beautiful.
No it’s not

@@SanTheViolinDudeThe bow hairs are all sacrificed here lol.
@@Luguanyu307 gave me a good reason to go for a rehair after this. The bow hair in this video is 3 years old
I think the most difficult part to get a decent sound at least is the kim harmonics, they are just straight up devilish.
Ya that's so true. Everytime I try it about 50/50 chance they'll come out let alone sound nice
very godd
Chia-Chien Goh?
Sorry I don't know who's that
Promo sm 🎉
If you pull through on a non fretted violin that would be really insane
Good luck haha
