- Good evening, friends! Please welcome my own mother to stage as she loved Band-Maid so much, I asked her to do a reaction with me to them!
We hang out every Monday or Tuesday to watch the Walking Dead (she's watching it for the first time) so we planned on doing a reaction tonight! This badass lil young lady is why I am the woman I am today!
She introduced me to a lot of the oldies music (and a lot of rap too XD) that i listen to!
Please enjoy our reaction to the lovely ladies of BAND-MAID! I made sure I did a little research this time around to be sure that I wasn't going to be misinterpreting anything this time around as I did it for a second time last night. But all I could find was Akane performing her badass drum solo! #muchlove
PS . Also enjoy how much of a spaz my mother is, I love her so damn much and I know you all will too! :)

One of the reasons these ladies are so tight on stage is that they are also good friends off stage and they have fun with each other like when Kanamii cross the stage to see if she can distract her guitar student Miku by taking a seat on a stage monitor in front of her or when Saiki gets on the drum riser and makes faces at Akane to try to throw her off. it is said that during rehearsals Misa and Kanami are the bands big goof balls and Saiki often accompanies Miku to the Horse races as Miku is a big fan of them. This translates to the infectious energy they pass from the stage to us! Call me a Fan For Life!
Band-Maid is really for EVERYONE! And they are over the top talented... I mean they are masters on the instruments, SAIKI has a beautiful voice, they are writing the songs on their own, they are having fun and they are real friends not some casted bandmembers mashed together. And they love their fans! Humble and funny ladies... For me personally, especially because they are doing that oldschool type of rock, the best rockband today. Glad to see both you and your mom enjoying Band-Maid. Looks like you had a great time watching the video. Their songs are usually very uplifting and quite enjoyable. As they are having fun in their concert, it become contagious for the viewer as well. They are truly a special band that can reach out and connect to so many people though their music even for those of us who are not Japanese, and does not understand their lyrics. I enjoyed your reactions and looking for some more Band-Maid in the future.
They do get to the USA periodically.
I saw them in Los Angeles in both 2018 and 2019.
They've also played headlining shows in San Francisco, New York and Dallas.
Of course 2020 is a wash, but I'm sure they'll be back in 2021 or 2022.
They have been to the states and will again, when Covid blows over! They play small shows there so you get up close and personal, but you would have to travel to one of the major cities, NY, LA. Boston etc...

Have you ever heard of the Warning? They are there sisters from Mexico. They play rock. They are extremely good. Any song from any album you would like. But their second album, Queen of the murder scene . It’s just a incredible album. They call it a rock novel, Meant to be played in order, first song to last to tell a story of infatuation and murder. But pick any song and you will be amazed. Check them out. You will love them.
Yes please, The Warning is breaking ground for women in rock, after independently recording 1 Ep and 2 Albums thru kickstarter and fan support thru Patreon. They have just signed a 5 record deal with Lava/Republic records, only band from mexico and only rock band from latin America to sign directly with a Major record label, they did it on their own terms. They negotiated and got full creative control over their music and branding, unheard off in the industry for an independent band🤟👍😎

Thank you for Reaction BAND MAID. BAND MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing hard rock with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 20-23 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 31 songs have been released on their official RUclips, all of which are killer songs.

Forget the fact that they are all female, forget they are in maid outfits, and forget the fact they are from Japan. Sit back close your eyes and focus in on the music and really listen, that is when it will hit you that Band Maid is the best band in decades.

They were in the States like 18 months ago. In Japan the play in front 20,000, here they were small venue shows with about 500 to 1000.

i mean - for real - the average age of the audience is higher when you might expect. band-maid brings that sound back many thought just died off :)
on the song: probably one of their easiest ones. it's not the hardest. not the fastest. it's not the most technical. it's one of the oldest song they still play regularly. it wasn't composed by them (besides lyrics). it doesn't really represent their music they play (normally). but it kinda does represent them (as a band) - and they love performing this song. it's played on almost every bigger show, everytime with slight variations and a lot of fun :)
as for recommendations - everything on their official yt page, so just go into. I think you would love "Choose Me" (both mv and live)

In another interview they talked about how difficult the social distancing for COVID was for them. They spent up to nine hours a day on video chat with each other while also using the separation to work on individual musical things they don't get a chance to practice because their schedule is normally so busy.
Band Maid will be at Sakuracon, in Seattle, this spring.

Hey where are you at these days? I was getting to like a lot of your reactions. There is a new band that many reaction channels have named the breakout metal band of 20/20 and several gave them the metal album of the year. I've been listening to them more than anyone else lately. They have an insanely talented vocalist, whose singing style can only be described as schizophrenia translated into voice.

Drummer Akane just turned 30 the 14th of this month (December 2020).
The others aren't very far behind. Lead singer Saiki is youngest at 26.
They play more instruments than they are presenting in Band-Maid. Kanami sometimes works out melodies on keyboards first, and if you hear a keyboard track in live concert, that was recorded by her. They don't use backing tracks to fake anything, only for another instrument layer, occasionally.
Kanami and Misa both started piano at age 3, and then got into other instruments. Misa went from piano, to guitar, to bass, but still can play all of them. I think there's more, but that is what I can remember off the top.
So, as awesome as what they do in Band-Maid is, they have more depth as musicians than even this.

I too have met and had drinks, food and what not with members from great bands such as Lacuna Coil, Between the Buried and Me, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy, Once Human, Killswitch Engage, Septicflesh, Dark Funeral etc. I live in Denver, where we get to meet alot of these bands/members because of the small venues these bands play at. I would love to meet the members of Jinjer, buy them a meal, a round of drinks, whatever. And thank them for the great music that they have given us. 🤘❤
