You are so correct when you forget about listening only to the drummer! This band is not about the individual performances, but how they play together. They all play "the band" more than they play their individual instruments. They are truly a band.
The gearhead stuff: Kanami (lead guitar/main composer): PRS Custom 24 into Mesa Boogie rectifier; Misa (bass): Black Cloud Custom into Orange amp; Miku (rythm guitar/backing vocals/lyrics): Zemaitis A24MF into EVH amp. Kanami has several PRS, Misa several Black Cloud and Miku even has her own Zemaitis signature model now.
And Akane uses Tama drums and Zildjian cymbals. All the members are signed artists with their respective instruments. Before switching to PRS guitars, Kanami used Adictone guitars, which you can see in their earliest videos. But she’s been with PRS for several years now
MISA's Red SG style custom is her signature model. It's back with the makers at the moment having the neck width adjusted (MISA found it a little too wide). In the meantime she is sporting her new cigarette stained white P bass which I believe is also a one off custom.
Nice reaction Bass - Black Cloud Rhytm g - Zeimatis Lead g - PRS, Addictone before that Next - something newer No God (live), its from online show without crowd
This is one of their simpler arrangements. Kanami is a talented composer, and each of the members have their time in the spot light. Here are a few suggestions, Blooming, Different, Rinne, Domination, Warning, After Life, Real Existence, Onset
Welcome to the world of BAND-MAID. Best live rock band out today!! BAND-MAID combines rock, metal, punk, pop, jazz and progressive into a sound all their own. Check out their live videos from their RUclips Channel where they really shine!!! - suggest - Real Existence, Play, Domination, Onset, Freedom, Secret My Lips, Choose Me, etc etc etc and MV's - Warning, Rinne, After Life, Manners, Different, Blooming, Bubble, etc etc etc, but ANY video you choose is fantastic!!! Always a smile when listening to BAND-MAID. Members; Miku (Me-koo) - guitar/vocals - The Pigeon Kanami (Ka-na-me) - lead guitar - The Princess Saiki (Si-key) - lead vocals - The Queen Akane (A-ka-nay) - drums - The Gorilla MISA (Me-sa) - bass - The Barefoot Assassin (she performs barefoot
I love that Miku and Kanami are cheering, clapping, and pumping their fists for Akane during her solo. It's great to see a band that smiles and looks like they actually like each other. Apart from their outstanding musicianship, I going to lie, they are not hard to look at. They are a breath of fresh air from ugly guys dressed in black and scowling, playing every song at 200+BPM and playing everything that they know in under 60 seconds.
@@chrisegbertkyyou're another one!😃 It seems that most people I find that know about Akane, are also familiar with Yoyoka. She's a munchkin monster behind a drum kit. Give her another 6 or 8 years, and I expect she'll have her own band. She's certainly a lot of fun to watch. I'm not sure what's going on over there in Japan, but they sure seem to crank out a bunch of damn good female musicians. And I'm not talking about the little piano and violin prodigies. I'm talking about rock and roll. There's also a young female singer [Japanese] that I think is pretty impressive. Her name is Emi. I think she's about 15 or 16 yo, and she's been performing since she was 9 or 10. She was in a couple of those idol groups, but I think she's more or less solo now. There's a multi-instrumentalist that she's made a few videos with. He's also quite talented, I can't recall his name at the moment though. If you're interested, search Emi Lion King. It's a good example of the power she can push. I will warn you, be ready when you hit play. She starts it strong.
Misa! Misa! Misa! Yeah, not an SG bass...lol...Misa plays the 'Black Cloud PR' (private reserve) Miku's guitar, of course, is her custom Zemaitis A24MF (metal face). Did you see the EVH head? And she has her own Zemaitis model named for her..."The Flappy Pigeon" model!! (Miku is an 810+ year old pigeon you see...). Kanami plays the Paul Reed Smith (PRS)...you can tell by the head stock and the signature patters on the face of the body. And Akane, the reason you came here..lol... She currently is playing and endorsed by 'Tama' but I beleive she was on Yamaha in this video (I could be wrong). I've seen her using several different cymbal sets over the years but mostly she uses Zildjan Cymbals (you can see the big 'K' on them) Band Maid is holding the line in Solid Guitar Rock and has picked up the Mantel of Rock'n'Roll where the West has left it behind. More Band Maid Always and.... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
She was a Sakae artist until they went out of business and Tama picked her up. The pink and red sparkle kit is Sakae Almighty Maple. Sakae made amazing drums. She never played Yamaha that I know of.
I mean.... going from Freedom to No God will melt any Band-Maid virgin's face and brain. LOOOL. Do we start him off in the deep end or let him get his feet wet first? :)
Miku is sponsored by Zemaitis. She plays their guitars exclusively now. MISA is playing her Signature Black Cloud SG Precision Bass Kanami's is a PRS Custom 24. Do 'Domination' LIVE from the same show next.
Subbed... I always LOVE when people know what they talking about and i can learn more and more about Band-Maid. You are in for a ride, trust me! These ladies are rocking hard and every member is an master at her instrument. Writing their own songs, doing a lot of extras on liveshows (new intros, outros, solos), loving their fans, working hard and having fun while being so damn creative with their music. Greetings from Germany, there is a lot to discover for you!
I really appreciate your comment from Germany! I can't believe how these five really talented girls could get together to be BAND-MAID starting with Miku's idea of combining maid-costumes and hard rock! On top of that, they have been trying very very hard basically on their own, which is so touching.
ONSET live. Instrumental only and will showcase all the players. It's for a vocal break for Saiki. It was the first one I remember seeing that I saw the ultimate potential of Band Maid. NO GOD live off their podcast from this year will also blow your socks off.
Dude, he at least recognized the body shape. He can't see what kind it is, even if you can it's because you already know what it is. Cut him some slack, this is the first time he's ever seen them.
My suggestion is to pick at random. They are all good. However, if i have to pick and you want drums, you might like some of their new ones. Different, No God (live), Rinne (Reincarnation), Onset, Domination.
My favorite hard rock band... the talent level is off the charts. This specific song is more "fun" than technical, they have a broad range in their catalog. You might take a look at a couple of instrumentals "Onset" and "Without holding back", otherwise Domination live, Real existence live zepp, moratorium live, etc... just pick any song, they are all great! :)
@@barrycurtis4056 Who said they didn't sell to the public? The thing we're talking about is that Zemaitis is owned by a big Japanese company, so whether Zemaitis is actually making money or not, their employees (only 5 employees) still get paid. Kanda Shokai subsidizes whatever shortfalls Zemaitis has. So no, Zemaitis employees don't actually rely on Zemaitis sales to get paid. It's a prestige thing. They want a prestige guitar brand even if it doesn't make a profit.
Band-Maid has 100+ songs, so here is a shortlist to get you started. I tried to keep it short. Domination (official live video) No God (official live video) ` Onset (official live video) Play (official live video) Warning (official music video) Manners (official music video) Rinne (official music video) Blooming (official music video) Bubble (official music video) Daydreaming (official music video) Dice (official music video) Secret My Lips (official music video)
They have absolutely perfected putting small solos seamlessly into their songs. I just LOVE how they always give room for every band member in each arrangement.
Kaname, lead guitarist, is playing a PRS. Miku Kobato, rhythm guitarist, is playing a Zemeitas guitar. Other tracks that would likely interest you a lot as an instrumentalist: Play (Live Version) and Onset (Instrumental / Live Version).
Man I am glad you found them...been 15 months for me. You are gonna love them. Nice inside info from you. Ian Paice is my fav and Akane is my fav modern newbie.
Quoting Rabbi Rabbs from chat during premiere: "Glad you like it, Wave, great reaction! Try official live versions of "Domination", "Onset", and "Pllay"".
Early in this video, wave says "such a cool band!" If he only knew then what he knows now... that was the moment his life changed. His subscribers have increased 20-fold in 5 months since this video. I am glad I found him that day. He's the first patreon I every signed on to. I consider him a virtual friend.
How true ! I found this reaction here one day before the '22 US Maid tour and thinking ....'wow , Wave's first encounter with Band Maid !? Him not knowing their names , what brand of guitar Mincho and Kobato are using - noticing MISA's Orange set up and having to check how to say Akane 's name ! Oh yes , he has gone full Maidiac since this posting . As we all have . Oh early Wave , you have no idea what is ahead of you .
All their stuff, video clips or live is awesome. The band formed and concept by Miku, rhythm gtr / lyricist. Kanami on lead writes all music parts. Drums Akane , Bassist Misa are awesome players too. Congratulations on discovering Band Maid! These ladies are 5 puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together to create beautiful musical landscapes. Best band to come around in decades! Enjoy this addictive thrill ride. 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
Any one of their 100+ catalogue is worth watching/listening to. The best Rock band to come along in decades, maybe ever! I've been a fan since 2014 and haven't heard a stinker from them yet.
Jimmy paige saw Akane once, he liked her drumming that much he wanted to meet her backstage. She thought they were joking with her but they had picture together, he said that she was one of the best drummers he had seen.
Great reaction and in my opinion the best hard rock band in the last 30 years. All the ladies are very talented. I'll let the fans fill in the herstory (intentional) of the band.
Akane is heavily influenced by another Japanese female drummer by the name of Nao. Nao is the drummer for a Japanese band called Maximum The Hormone. Definitely worth checking out for something really different out of Japan.
Great job mate. This band is definitely special and many are reacting to them these days. So its a gem to see a solid review that is sincere and original. Looking forward to more.... BTW, the Maidiacs are coming now, so stand by!
This was the most technical breakdown of Akane's drumming that I've seen so far. Most other people say what she's doing is complicated and technical, but not why, so I really appreciate you going into that detail. Domination has a short solo in the live version, and it's either Onset or Play (live versions) that feature a little longer fill from her, but that's about it for her solos. Other than that, you can pick basically any song from them and get a fantastic performance to react to. I mean seriously you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. Thanks again for the reaction and analysis, and I hope you get to enjoy more of this amazing band!
Great analysis! All their songs are great; you can pick at random. You already have a lot of recommendations from other fans, but I suggest Alone. It's the first song they wrote that the label accepted and let them loose.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single BAND-MAID song. You better pack a lunch 'cause you ain't seen nothing yet. This is going to be an epic ride. Bon Voyage! Oh, also, I enjoyed the reaction/analysis. ADHD and all.
Welcome aboard, Wave Potter. You are embarking on (along with many others - 110 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (over 100 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, and Just Bring It drive even more - Warning, No God, H-G-K, Black Hole, Different, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 35 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s four of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. These two taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ruclips.net/video/__1th7ctgMo/видео.html, and a fun, wonderful live performance in Amsterdam of Miku introducing "Don't You Tell Me" (with MISA & Kanami's great instrumental exchange) and "Turn Me On” (with MISA's solo intro): ruclips.net/video/kfYQoWBlSpk/видео.html. The next one was taken by JT Dayo in LA: ruclips.net/video/4uIYBkAybCI/видео.html, and finally by JOSER8845 in LA: ruclips.net/video/usWZvlGGDSs/видео.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 29 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 29 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 30 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Lead guitarist (Konami) is playing a PRS, the rhythm guitarist (Miku) is playing a Zemaitis. By far my favorite band. I recommend (live versions are the best) Domination Puzzle Onset Warning Dice Play (2020 version) No God and if you can find a video of: Take Me Higher and Turn Me On
I’m sure it has probably already been suggested, but “domination” from Valentine’s Day on 2020 is a nice fun song. Also consider lovebites if you haven’t already. I just discovered the channel but I’ll definitely be hanging out more now.
I'm so glad that you've discovered BM my favorite rock band. IMO their body of work sets them apart from all other rock bands including non-JROCK ones. Akane Hirose (last name pronounced 'he row say') is my favorite member. As another maidiac mentioned BM incorporate a blend of various genres to create their uniquely BM sound. Akane's mastery of being able to play so many different genres as well as the bassist Misa make up probably one of the best rhythm sections around. For starters some songs that would be good to react are: Daydreaming (rock ballad) Secret My Lips (hard rock) The Dragon Cries (Jazz/Rock fusion?) a collaboration with Tony Visconti Different (opening song for Log Horizon anime) speed metalish? Dice (pop punk) Looking forward to watching your reaction to other BM songs. Thank you!
I'd recommend their song "Dice". There's the official MV and then a couple live versions on YT. It's a banger. I've seen them live three times. Awesome shows!
The initial reaction to the juxtaposition of the submissive maid outfits with the kick arse hard proper rock is delightful. But it fades. Because they are so very good. Insane musicians. Insanely good I mean! They really seem to love rocking the heck out of a song. My money for favorite proper rock band is on the Fantastic Five here! Enjoyed your reaction!
@@WavePotter As am I, to you, for the hundreds of hours of great entertainment and education you have provided me, and all the various awesome communities we are a part of.
Okay, instruments; Kanami plays a PRS, Miku plays a Zemaitis plus she has a signature guitar with them, MISA plays a number of bass guitars primarily a Black Cloud custom and Fender bass. Akane plays Tama drums with Zildjian cymbals. They are all signed artist with the companies. In Japan bands with "the Gap" is very popular, meaning the difference in what you see "demure maids" vs what you hear Hard Rock. Hence the maid costumes. They write, arrange and produce their own songs, and regularly have toured Europe and had concerts in NYC, Dallas and LA in 2019. Now if you dare, checkout Tamu Murata. She is currently playing with Nemophila and their MV "Dissension" is nice song as a start. If you just do a RUclips search you will be surprised how often she comes ups!!
Thanks for reacting to my favourite band Band Maid ! I would suggest you watch Blooming next. Akane's drumming during Kanami's guitar solo is worth the listen, it compliments it so well.
( Fast Times At Ridgemont High flashback ) If they're YOUR favorite band and they're MY favorite band, doesn't that make them OUR favorite band? 🤘🔥🥁🍺🎸💚🎌
The Orange amp stack is Misa's bass set. And it will have a bottle of whiskey or a beer or some form of alcohol on top. Just enough to settle her nerves, because timing is important. Most of them have a click track going for that. But Misa kicks off her shoes to feel Akane's drumbeats directly through the floor so she stays keyed to Akane.
Nice reaction Wave. Yes, Band-Maid is amazing. They have so many great songs. The best rhythm section. Try LIVE MV's Onset, Domination, Play. MV's Dice, Warning, Rinne, Blooming. Dozens more after those. See ya.
AKANE: "Before starting BAND-MAID, I was working at a kind of "music bar" both as a hall staff and as a drummer. At the bar the tunes of 60s to 80s were mainly performed, and I learned about 600 tunes to play as a drummer, including disco music because we had to play various tunes and genres at the guests' requests. They loved rock music best, because many of them spent their teens during that time, I guess. That's why I learned a lot about "Classic Rock." Before starting to work there, I had an audition and I played "Highway Star" by DEEP PURPLE. This song gave me the chance to work as a drummer. More and more people requested "AKANE's Highway Star! " I owe very much to this song." (from MASSIVE Vol.38)
Just tripped on thsi your very first Band Maid reaction, so cool to go back in time and see everyones initial reactions. What an amazing journey this has been and only wonderful things to anticipate coming. Fantastic job as always.
Akane is creative and SUPER busy. ALL the time. She is always changing things up. She'll switch it up multiple times in any single section. Listen to "Real Existence" and she does 3 beats for each the Chorus and Verse sections. And then 2 sequences for the guitar solo. Nothing terribly hard or complicated, but imaginative, busy, and PERFECT for supporting the reset of the band. Also note, Akane is the WHOLE reason I started learning double bass. As for what to check out. ALL OF THEM. I have not been THIS into a band since learning drums back in the 80s listening to Rush.
You, my friend, are in for a good time with Band Maid, absolute phenomenal musicians, and Kanami is the songwriter so she is magician of those fluid transitions. equipboard.com/pros/kanami-tono equipboard.com/pros/akane-hirose equipboard.com/pros/miku-kobato equipboard.com/pros/misa/gear/bass-guitars Love your react WP especially your breakdown of Akane on drums, best I've heard in the 1-1/2 years listening to Band Maid. I never thought of the "Burn" riff. Funny you mention that because Akane (drummer) is a Deep Purple fan. The more you listen to Band Maid the more you'll be a fan of Akane. Their latest album from January this year, Unseen World, she is pure FIRE! Being an old drummer she is always my main focus, and her and MISA on bass are an impressive rhythm section. To prove this, listen to "Blooming" and watch/listen to MISA chug with Akane's kick pedal throughout the tune....they play as one, reading each other so well. Enjoy you new band, trust me it's going to be a wonderful adventure. Us "Maidiacs" will guide you so no worries....Cheers! Oh Yeah.....the harmonies in "Blooming" are wonderful.
Props for making the effort to find out how to pronounce people's names! You got it, it's A-ka-nay Hi-ro-say - Japanese is pretty much pronounced how it looks once you know what the vowels sound like And yeah that's a PRS with the birdies - Miku's playing a Zemaitis, which are these fancy arty guitars with cool designs on the top
A few more recommendations on songs by these ladies? ... OK, I'll try to restrain myself. :) Rinne (MV) No God (Live) Warning (MV or Live) Real Existence (MV or Live) Play (Live) Domination (Live) Onset (Live) Blooming (MV) Dice (MV) ... I have a feeling that the next video might be enough to pull you into the 'pigeon-hole' with us, but to be on the safe side I've listed a few more. In fact, I was just really thinking about just adding the track list of their entire discography. :) 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】🕊️
Very well done reaction...enjoy your Band Maid journey...it is a good one!!! Live videos of Domination, Play and Onset (Instrumental) and MV's of Real Existence, Dice, Thrill, Rinne, Blooming, Manners and Warning.
What makes a sexy reaction video? -Knowledge and experience in instrument technique and how it fits into a performance. -Interjections with illustrations and video to help back up points being made by reactor. -Aforementioned interjections being limited as to not take away from the best content of the video. -Positive vibe and a real appreciation of music, which made any comments or opinions about what is being heard and seen, that much more profound. 4/4 my dude. This chick got a chub, so you get a sub. Good work. 🤘
Someone else may have told you this already, but the vowels in Japanese are always the same. So you got the e in Akane correctly. The e in Hirose is also the same, so the -ne and the -se rhyme.
What songs to check out? ALL OF THEM! LOL - So glad to see your first Band-Maid reaction video. I know you're now a huge Maidiac. I can't blame you: I also had a "Why haven't I been listening to this band?" moment this Summer and I fell in love with how this band constructs and presents their songs. They're an amazing act and I can't wait until they tour NA again in '23 - Miku Promised!
WP, I was hoping you would get to Band-Maid. Akane (aka: Gorilla) is an incredible drummer! She's one of the few the can change the feel and direction of a song, and since B-M plays in different genres, often in the same song, she's a beast! She plays Tama Star bubinga/Zildjian A&K Customs with an S effects trash. Her drums are always present in every song. Try their latest live "No God", starts out "Motorhead-ish" to pop-punk to funk to clean vocals to...!!! But really, anything off their official yt channel is definitely worth a look!!!👍👍🤘🤘🤘
Please check out their YT channel, and subscribe - not just yourself as you can appreciate just how good they are, but anyone watching your review. Nice catch on the pick stand, BTW, I missed it all the times I watched this.
I love watching reactors first time reactions. Reactors like yourself. Have really made me appreciate. What each musician is bringing to the song. Your breakdown of Akane reminded of The Champ. But in my opinion. A little better. I'm enjoying your reactions more and more. I can feel your excitement through the video😁
But she’s been with PRS for several years now
Also, Miku has moved her entire rig to the Line 6 Helix for simplicity
*Triple Rectifier.
Cheers!
MISA's Red SG style custom is her signature model. It's back with the makers at the moment having the neck width adjusted (MISA found it a little too wide). In the meantime she is sporting her new cigarette stained white P bass which I believe is also a one off custom.
You can get the black cloud black smoker J5 beta that she used for about 8-10 grand. Her signature version is about 14k.
Nice reaction
Bass - Black Cloud
Rhytm g - Zeimatis
Lead g - PRS, Addictone before that
Next - something newer No God (live), its from online show without crowd
This is one of their simpler arrangements. Kanami is a talented composer, and each of the members have their time in the spot light. Here are a few suggestions, Blooming, Different, Rinne, Domination, Warning, After Life, Real Existence, Onset
... or to simplify, EVERYTHING 😉😎

Great review. Your insight is awesome
The happiest drummer in the world, AKANE!
Love her joy. Right up there with Yoyoka and Senri K. What a great rock group. All great players!
Don't forget Junna the Queen of funny faces (°·°)
@@chrisegbertkyyou're another one!😃
It seems that most people I find that know about Akane, are also familiar with Yoyoka.
Misa! Misa! Misa!
Yeah, not an SG bass...lol...Misa plays the 'Black Cloud PR' (private reserve)
Miku's guitar, of course, is her custom Zemaitis A24MF (metal face).
I've seen her using several different cymbal sets over the years but mostly she uses Zildjan Cymbals (you can see the big 'K' on them)
Band Maid is holding the line in Solid Guitar Rock and has picked up the Mantel of Rock'n'Roll where the West has left it behind.
More Band Maid Always and....
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
810 year old (forever)
She was a Sakae artist until they went out of business and Tama picked her up.
The pink and red sparkle kit is Sakae Almighty Maple.
Sakae made amazing drums.
She never played Yamaha that I know of.

@@patron40silver 🤙🏼🥃🥃🥃
For starters do the LIVE songs on their channel
Domination
Onset
Real Existence
Or just do their latest.. No God and get face melted
I'm backing the face melting option! 🤘🖤
I mean.... going from Freedom to No God will melt any Band-Maid virgin's face and brain. LOOOL. Do we start him off in the deep end or let him get his feet wet first? :)
Also Rinne, Dice and Blooming.
Thanks WP! Welcome to Band-Maid!
Miku is sponsored by Zemaitis. She plays their guitars exclusively now. MISA is playing her Signature Black Cloud SG Precision Bass Kanami's is a PRS Custom 24. Do 'Domination' LIVE from the same show next.
"Domination" live, or the song "Play" live. or "Real Existence" live...
The flawless transition from Akane's solo to Kanami's solo is as good as any band I have ever heard. You can feel them cheering each other on.
💯🤙🏼
Absolutely - magnificent transition there!
ONSET live. Instrumental only and will showcase all the players. It's for a vocal break for Saiki. It was the first one I remember seeing that I saw the ultimate potential of Band Maid. NO GOD live off their podcast from this year will also blow your socks off.
I have watched a lot of your drumming reactions but didn't think Band-Maid would be in your wheelhouse. Thank you and welcome aboard.
Misa is not playing an SG bass. She is playing a Black Cloud Private Reserve MISA. You can see the PR on the headstock and Misa on the back.
Dude, he at least recognized the body shape. He can't see what kind it is, even if you can it's because you already know what it is. Cut him some slack, this is the first time he's ever seen them.
@@barrycurtis4056 Also the full name is called "Black Cloud Private Reserve "Precision SG Bass" Misa signature"
And it’s got P-bass style pickups as opposed to the SG bass humbuckers.
The "S-G" bass is an EB series from Gibson. You are correct, this is not a Gibson. However, the Gibson EB 3 is an awesome bass.
My suggestion is to pick at random. They are all good. However, if i have to pick and you want drums, you might like some of their new ones. Different, No God (live), Rinne (Reincarnation), Onset, Domination.
Very good suggestions.

The guitar you looking at is Zemaitis.
They make like 10 per yr. each one an artwork. I thought this true because a fan said it. So thanks for the obvious correction!
@@chrisegbertky they make a lot more than 10 per year. They couldn't stay in business if their output was that low.
@@barrycurtis4056 Yes, they could. It's not like their lives depend on guitar sales.
@@eatsmylifeYT Zemaitis Guitar Company builds guitars for sale to the general public. Their employees lives actually do depend on guitar sales.

Warning! isn't really face melting by Band-Maid standards but is a GREAT song and PV to react to. Face melting would be No God.
Bandmaid solos are always just enough and always fit the song.
Their latest live video for the song "No God" is pretty awesome, with a lot of fun instrumentation to breakdown and analyze.

He called her the reincarnation of John Bonham. High praise indeed coming from who it came from.
This band is flat out awesome.
Maybe that's why Band-Maid released "Different" :)
Have enjoyed your reactions to Senri, Junna, Yoyoka, & your covers, but now I can finally subscribe thanks to BAND-MAID!!
Enjoyed your commentary and asides. Thank you.
Cool reaction. A couple more live tracks on their official channel : Domination, Warning, No God.
That was a really good analysis. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Dice, Play and Blooming are other ones to add to the list. Nice drum work in all of them
keeping the solo within the rhythm of the song then throw in a poly-rhythm on top...nice work!
Great job mate. This band is definitely special and many are reacting to them these days. So its a gem to see a solid review that is sincere and original. Looking forward to more....
BTW, the Maidiacs are coming now, so stand by!
One year ago today! Were we ever so young? 😁
It's been great following your journey, Wave! You are a real pleasure to watch, keep up the good work! 🥰
Thank you so much Yellow Clip! It’s been a pleasure getting to know them and the community! Thanks for all your help along the way!
I'm glad you appreciated my details! Thank you for the recommendations! Those are all definitely on my list.
Great analysis! All their songs are great; you can pick at random. You already have a lot of recommendations from other fans, but I suggest Alone. It's the first song they wrote that the label accepted and let them loose.
Best rock and roll band in the world today! Keep listening! They're incredible!😊😎🤘🤘

Oh, also, I enjoyed the reaction/analysis. ADHD and all.
Dangggggg ….!!!another amazing band to look into…speechless for real!!
And many are represented with over 35 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
MISA! MISA!

For starters some songs that would be good to react are:
Daydreaming (rock ballad)
Secret My Lips (hard rock)
The Dragon Cries (Jazz/Rock fusion?) a collaboration with Tony Visconti
Different (opening song for Log Horizon anime) speed metalish?
Dice (pop punk)
Looking forward to watching your reaction to other BM songs.
Thank you!
I'd recommend their song "Dice". There's the official MV and then a couple live versions on YT. It's a banger. I've seen them live three times. Awesome shows!
Oh, I really envy you. I live in Japan, so I'm sure I will see them live next time!

Great breakdown. I like your vibe.
I had to watch this again to see the exact moment I (and Matt) fathered a MAIDIAC! Makes me proud! ...LOL

4 life indeed.
thank you for this reaction video. I like your reaction/analysis style.
I have another suggestion for this band!...The rest of their discography! You will not be dissapointed!
Random, maybe, but I really liked the small details you pointed out - like the picks on the mic stand, I'd never have noticed that
for me there has not been one song i have not liked from them both live and mv's id just go enjoy :)
A recommendation, ANYTHING. No really, any song is as good as the last.
Even Big Dad? Hahaha. I jest. I dont think they have a video for that one.
Miku's (back up singer and rhythm guitar) guitar is a Zemitis (sp?) from Japan
Lead guitar is PRS
Just tripped on thsi your very first Band Maid reaction, so cool to go back in time and see everyones initial reactions. What an amazing journey this has been and only wonderful things to anticipate coming.
Fantastic job as always.
Thank you! It was a beautiful life changing moment. Thanks to Bandmaid 😊

Love your react WP especially your breakdown of Akane on drums, best I've heard in the 1-1/2 years listening to Band Maid.
There have "No God" from last album that they performed during one of online concerts.
Props for making the effort to find out how to pronounce people's names! You got it, it's A-ka-nay Hi-ro-say - Japanese is pretty much pronounced how it looks once you know what the vowels sound like
And yeah that's a PRS with the birdies - Miku's playing a Zemaitis, which are these fancy arty guitars with cool designs on the top
A few more recommendations on songs by these ladies? ... OK, I'll try to restrain myself. :)

Good work. 🤘
Akane beats those drums like they owe her money!
Miku plays Zemaitis guitars... made in Japan.
Welcome to being a fellow Maidiac !
Someone else may have told you this already, but the vowels in Japanese are always the same. So you got the e in Akane correctly. The e in Hirose is also the same, so the -ne and the -se rhyme.
Thrill started it all for me. Try Onset for a real cool instrumental. Puzzle is a wonderfully busy song. Their live stuff is just plain awesome.
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Please check out their YT channel, and subscribe - not just yourself as you can appreciate just how good they are, but anyone watching your review.
Nice catch on the pick stand, BTW, I missed it all the times I watched this.
I love watching reactors first time reactions. Reactors like yourself. Have really made me appreciate. What each musician is bringing to the song. Your breakdown of Akane reminded of The Champ. But in my opinion. A little better. I'm enjoying your reactions more and more. I can feel your excitement through the video😁
and don't forget "onset" live..
