2018 / 2019 Ford EcoSport AWD Review and Comparison

- Looking for an AWD Ford Fiesta with more ground clearance? There's an EcoSport for that now. Ford's smallest crossover is the result of Ford's South American and Indian market's demands to have a small, capable crossover but it fills a needed niche in America as well. If you're looking for an itty-bitty CUV that's comfortable, capable and inexpensive, this Ford's for you.

We have a 2018 with 120 thousand miles with zero problems. We use it for deliveries. We like it so much we went out and bought a 2020 all
Wheel drive. Had it for 10 months and really liking the new sync system. And it’s really
Good in snow
Price sells cars. I just bought a 2019 Ecosport SE with heated seat, a moonroof, navigation and AWD. It was during the Chicago auto show and was larded up with several rebates bring the purchase price down to $18,600. A subcompact with AWD could not have been purchased in any other brand for that price. An AWD Trax was about $900 more but came without the roof, Nav and heated seats. Hell, cruise control was extra. The Nissan may be cheaper but cant be had with AWD at any price. We traded a '15 Soul on this when it became known that the redesign would not have AWD. I think Kia miss the boat on that. I would have bought another but not with out AWD. PS The wife LOVES her Ecosport. She was sad about her Soul but forgot all about it after 10 minutes in the Ecosport.
I agree with all that you said, for me that higher ground clearance is a must have, and in my eyes it's a beautiful looking vehicle period.
Finally someone gave an honest review of Ecosport
I test drove this thing and frankly its good, people bashed it like it sucks,,, looks bad, personally, I had no interest in this because of the over bashing this thing got in the internet, but after driving one,I liked it, it was practical, fun to drive, smooth unlike shitty CVTs, even rode and handled well, and the dealers are giving the Titanium AWD rebates and on road price of around USD 24,990 for the fully loaded version, and in that context, it felt really nice
Yeah I love mine. It's just the new thing to hate. And the AWD is awesome
haha i love my little turbo. im like come on turbo and then engine is like another animal.
u can get like 26 mpg city if you are heavy footed in the turbo boost and it gets up pretty nice.
I Love it!! These guys get to drive all makes and models, usually top of the line. I paid $17,000 for 4 Wheel drive. I like the vehicles with short wheel base in snow. I do not haul passengers except my dogs so as long as I am comfortable I am happy. Most critics do not like this car but I have read many comments from THE AVERAGE person that do!!
I really appreciate your review. I bought my very first brand new car. It is the 2018 ecosport s!
I had a 2009 Chevy Malibu with 164,000 miles exactly. It had been wrecked once and where I'm 5ft 3 , too many blind spots.
We went to our local ford dealer . I did the worst mistake, ZERO research! I was trying to get a 2017 ford escape. But, the sales guy talked me into getting a brand new 2018 ford ecosport s for 1.9 apr and no money down ( I did trade in my car).
I didn't realize that the car was so tiny at the time. I kinda got lost in the moment and shocked I even got approved for a car.
I have had buyers remorse but, I'm growing to love the Ecosport! I'm a mom with two kids, not to mention short! So,it works and I can see the dreaded curbs ;).
Congratulations! I bought one yesterday. Love it! Fun to drive. With incentives I paid $17,000. Brand new in my price range.
The Ford Ecosport is one of the only sub compact SUVs that has AWD, towing capability, and an automatic transmission (no CVT) at this low price. The only other option that I can think of is the Mazda CX-3 but the Mazda has hardly any cargo space. For me, the towing capacity of the Ecosport is what makes it stand out above almost every other vehicle in its class.
Good points. People just like to complain and hate on the third world in the comments.
Guys it’s Echo-Sport because originally it was designed back in 2003 in Brazil and that’s where the name comes from. I don’t know what was Ford thinking with bringing it to the US because it really wasn’t ready. And this is coming from someone in South America where we have tons of these things.
The first gen dates back to 2003. This is second gen and it totally different from first gen. 2d gen originated in 2012.
I really want to see a drag race between this, a Subaru Crosstrek XV, and a Nissan Kicks. The first driver to fall asleep before hitting 60mph loses.
I would SPANK those cars to 60 in my 08 corolla with a four speed automatic.... Didn't think I'd ever say that
Meee! As a Crosstrek owner, this is hilarious.
Don’t listen to all the reviews about how slow the Crosstrek it is fast enough for everyday driving.
@Richard Favreau Since that last comment, 2 years ago already, I bought a 2019 Corolla hatchback. Same 2.0 as the SE Sedan. Decently fast for what it is.
@Richard Favreau The first gear comes in handy when you want to pass someone from a stop. In sports mode it seems to be more usable because it holds it to a higher RPM. IN ECO mode, it shifts to the CVT pretty fast, which makes sense. Overall, it's WAY better than a standard CVT. I don't tend to use manual "shifting" that much. I do use sports mode when climbing a hill on the freeway. It's pretty much like turning off overdrive with the old geared automatics. My had milage is way above 42 on the freeway without really even trying..43-46 is the norm for me on longer trips. The adaptive cruise control all the way to zero is very useful in freeway traffic. Only available with the CVT. the manual has adaptive cruise but it's only down to about 25 I believe. It also lets you downshift and doesn't cancel cruise control being on.
Overall, the manual is a little bit faster but I hear the clutch engagement point is a little vague and it's not all that short of a throw on the shifter. You take a hit in mpg with the manual. But you get auto rev matching with the manual. It's a good car to learn a stick with.
I love scale from teensie-tiny to small 😂👌

@@fitnikki434 Itsy bitsy.
Ford is going to regret getting rid of their sedan lineup. What a bone-headed decision.
David Wolf this is the “successor” for Fiesta and is twice the price. What a pathetic joke
We had global platform excellent driving sedans. and hatches. They've lost their minds, and given huge market share away. I'd be nervous if I worked at a Ford dealer.
PacificBlue51
I've seen people posting online that go to look at new Ford vehicles and they say the salesman are so desperate that they are buzzing around people driving into the lots like swarms of gnats on a hot day.
Sales must be TERRIBLE.
Sedans suck. Wagons and hatchbacks however, which are the same chassis, I still like though.
David Wolf the focus hatchback is staying
Alex is right when you look at incentives this SUV comes out ahead. You can get a base model for under 21K with the 2.0L and AWD after the $1500.00 incentive and get 2.9% for up to 84 months also. If you lease there is a $3500.00 cash back and you can get it for less than $200.00. I don't know about anyone else, but I would rather have a new SUV with a full warranty than buy something else used , which would have a higher payment and may need tires, brakes and 30K or 60k service soon after buying it. This is for zip code 06111, other parts of the country may have the same deals, and some will be different.
This is exactly why I got one!!! 1.9 apr and no money down!! It had only 19 miles on it when I bought it. I got a great warranty and free maintenance for 4 years! I do admit I really wanted an Escape but, the deal was much much better for this.
I agree with you, Alex. I like the way this looks!
Several channels have commented along the lines of "If we had to invent the car today from scratch, most manufacturers would design an SUV/Cross-over body style". The packaging within a given wheelbase is much better and the more commanding view of the road is also more popular with owners. Weight is not necessarily affected and torsional rigidity with a more boxy style is improved. People who have been in a vintage car from the 1920s say, often comment on the amount of room inside these old cars, that's becuause they are more upright and taller than a modern sedan. So we may actually just be going back to what a typical car was like 100 - 60 years ago packaging wise.
A Focus Hatch just makes way more sense. More space, better fuel economy, transmission options, and multiple engine options. In the city, AWD isn't really important. Small crossovers just don't make any sense at all. I never could understand our American car market. Always buying the product that is least efficient for their needs.
Gregory Kanniard
Sadly many American consumers are easily manipulated and led by the nose....most consumers are told what they want to buy, they don't make a choice based on their own actual needs and wants. You see in the US that they will flood the car lots with certain high margin products and that is ALL. If you want something else you just cannot get it or the car companies make it difficult or impossible to order it.
I personally agree, and this has nothing to do with Ford or this vehicle. I don't get the small crossover. Alex here noted the CX3 as his favorite, and this just after it. But I look at the CX3 and just shake my head. I just don't get it. But, I am also not the targeted demographics.. so that might be part of the reason.
27 thousand dollars? I wouldn't pay 27,000 Rupees for that.
I looked at 13 EcoSports on a local dealer's lot this past weekend...not one priced under $28,000. When the regular cars are gone, EcoSport is going to be Ford's cheapest, entry level vehicle and the pricing is insane. I saw nothing about the EcoSport that seemed $28,000 worth. With the Nissan Kicks base model, I couldn't stop thinking how much they were giving buyers for the money.
That's were it's made, in India. And yet they charge so much for a car where labor is dirt cheap.
@@EM.1. The car is sold in India for half the price. It starts at around $12-13k.
@@elitecatgamer3217 like you rightly mentioned, I am Indian and I don't understand why it is so highly priced in the US.
Noticeably, it doesn't even come with a complete suite of Active safety Systems which all other cars seem to have there.
I am just curious, positively, whether there's an additional taxes levied on imported vehicles?
@@bommareddybrijendrareddy9301 Tariff....
The whole time I was watching this review I was thinking to myself "I can forgive this car because it's probably a 16k-20k car". Then he got to the price I was freaking SHOCKED ford is freaking nuts with the price of this car, i really think is funny how much ford is charging for this car (its like ford executives are placing bets on how much people will pay for their cars)!
All cars are shamefully priced. I refuse to pay the high price if new cars . I look at used. Unfortunately some new cars aren't that much less than the used...Go figure.🤔
Ford always offers a lot of incentives on their cars, I picked one of these up for $6000 off MSRP
The best reviews are always your reviews, Alex!
In regards to the EcoSport... Ford would really need to discount it at the dealer for me to buy it. For the pure MSRP, I will let the dealer keep it for themselves =)
New Alex on Autos? Today is a good day.
I love how it opens up to the side! It reminds me of my 2001 Rav4 which I loved so much!
People are shitting on the MSRP for this car, but the price it's actually being sold for is waaay less. I'm looking at the dealship in my town and they're selling new $28,000 EcoSports for $17,000. At that price, it's a hell of a deal.
Yup, bought a 4 Wheel drive which, I need in PA, for $17,000 yesterday. I love it! Grabs the road, turns on a dime and didn't break my budget!! If others do not like it, move on!!
I live in a typical American town and I haven't paralleled parked with someone behind me in years. I can't remember the last time I did. About the only time I open the hatch my my current car is in a supermarket or big box store parking lot. In other words, that swing out hatch is a non issue.
In an odd sort of way you both are and are not the target demographic...
This was such a great video. After hours of research, I found more information in 30 minutes watching this. The 4k is truly appreciated.
Agreed. This guy does a good review.
This car was designed many years ago for India. And now this cheap car is sold here for ridiculous prices. The SUV trend is insane, people will pay a fortune for literally any crap as long as it's an SUV.
Mgoblagulkablong It’s not crap. It’s actually pretty good.
Car makes sense in India's narrow city streets & heavy traffic. It's a big car there. In the US, it needs to be priced a bit better to make sense.
Disney Fan
If it was 16-17k or so I would agree, but it's about $27k and that price is outrageous and a huge rip off. Ford is in deep doo doo.
Disney Fan I agree that compared to the Indian model, its exorbitantly priced in the US. But that doesn't mean it's a cheap car. And even in India it is a tiny little car which I myself rejected while buying a new car and went for XUV500. A car similar to the size of a CR-V.
as long as they can buy a bloated POS that wastes gas - why not? the 'Murican Dream!
You don't need remote start on the fob.
You can start the vehicle from the Ford App on your phone.
I did it all winter.
Also you can lock/unlock the car from the App.
Another, great feature is the this car produces cabin heat almost immediately>
car handles great and acceleration is good.
Stay tuned for an ST version.
I like the suv style but I want a car that is also economic and this looks like a good style that seems decent.
For a small suv the gas mileage is horrible
The proportions are so wrong - it sits too high, no overhangs and the wheels even on the upper trim looks tiny. The fuel economy is bad for its size and the engine choice with AWD is uninspiring. Kind of sickens me that the Fiesta and Focus are being killed for this thing.
Trades46 Chevy Trax like proportions. It just looks cartoony and compromised. Hard points restricted design.
It's like a chubby Geo Metro. It sits high because the roads in India and Latin America are dogshit, by the way.
0:20 That was cheesy enough to allow Papa Johns to startup a new cheese pizza company.
I bought a 2018 se a couple months ago , race red , love it
Great review, as always! After watching this review, the EcoSport seems like a pretty solid entry in its segment. I can't wait for your 2019 Honda HRV review, as well! From one car reviewer to another, keep up the stellar work!
Solid in the way that eating lots of PF Changs and fiber will produce a solid movement. The review is great, and I think its clear Alex was being as harsh as he can be without causing massive backlash and getting blacklisted from a major manufacturer like Ford (after all, if you go too crazy in calling it a straight up piece of poop, good luck getting a press invite for the next new Ford vehicle launch).
Would love an aftermarket turbo for this .
I saw this at the New York Auto Show and I was impressed with the interior and exterior. However, they did not have final pricing at the show. I expected it to be priced just a bit higher than a Fiesta at maybe $19,000-$23,000, but at over $27,000, the car just isn't worth it. Like the tiny Buick, this car is very noticeably narrow when you sit inside. It was clearly designed for Europe (as the Buick was designed for Korea). That's neither good nor bad, just different from competitors from Honda and Hyundai. Having driven the Fiesta upon which this EcoSport is based, I can say the chassis is extremely sorted and it's more fun to the drive than your average Honda or Hyundai or Kia. I have to say I saw 100s of these on the road during a recent trip to Maine. Did Hertz buy up all of the inventory?
It was not designed for europe, it was designed for India many year ago.
alliejr
Yes, this thing is a huge rip off. What a joke.
Mine was only 19,000 base price and ended up over 21 bc of taxes, licence plate, and the warranty /maintenance package.
The only people paying $27k are morons paying near sticker for a top trim level model. Starting sticker price is under $20k.
Smaller version of an escape. My great grandpa has a 2017 Ford Edge SEL in the ruby red eco boost engine with tinted windows.
I love watching people review this car! It’s so funny to see how they react to it. Alex, you give such a happy review of this less than desirable car. Thank you 😊 love your reviews
Less than desirable? I desired one so much I bought it! No regrets. It's phenomenal in the winter. The aftermarket is decent, too.
I understand that this car is what the market want, but I still can't understand why would someone pick this over a Fusion😞.
This thing is a piece of crap. Originally designed for the third world
but priced with high margins in mind. Ford is headed for disaster.
The Ford Fiesta is a far better product than the Ecosport will ever be.
Of course if it WAS really cheap it might be worth a look, but it isn't at all.
watershed44 So this. There are hybrid cars in a similar price point that get better mpg and go faster.
It wasn't designed for the third world. It was designed for Hispanics and Indians, in other words, now 3/4 the population of Houston! They are still selling to the same demographic as before, just now they live in the US. ;)
So Hispanic people enjoy ugly, short CUVs? I don't think that has anything to do with it.
DumbDuck44
The third world is what it was designed for, they have just invaded and violated our border and come here illegally.
watershed44 agree on this Eco thing being crap. Only women will buy it
Fantastic car. Idk why the reviews are so mediocre. It's fantastic.
Great review Alex. You are the king of detail.
Alex, I really want to say thanks. I just bought a 2018 ECOSport because of your review. I bought the SES trim because I got a great deal. It only had 7k miles. It was off a lease with a clean Carfax. It was off a lease and garage kept. Just paid 19,500. It looks brand new. Your review was so extensive I felt as if you didn’t miss a thing. Again…. Thanks for being so meticulous.
Slow AND so-so gas mileage? I'd give up one for the other. How did Ford do this? Is the car heavy?
Heavy, cheaply built, inefficient engineering and horrible aerodynamics.
On the plus side, it is incredibly ugly. Sarcasm, am I doing it right?
The AWD EcoSport is approx 400 lbs heavier than my 2014 Focus Titanium Hatchback but has my Focus 2.0 160hp engine re-tuned to 166 hp. The EcoSport is heavier and slower than a Focus Hatch AND it is slightly smaller in most interior dimensions. And I haven’t even mentioned the 1.0 liter 123hp Ecoboost, which I would not want to trust in a tight situation merging onto an interstate highway.
This car could have gone a long way toward being a winner if one of the ST engines had been offered, Either the 200 hp fiesta ST engine or the 252 hp focus ST engine.
And one other thing, from a design standpoint, the rear door which opens outward to me is just terrible. I haven’t heard too much discussion about it. maybe I am out of touch. I’d like to hear what other people think.
i dont get how a 1.0 3 cylinder get less mileage than a 2.5l toyota engine on highway the new camrys get 40 on the highway even the v6 camry gets more than this on the highway
@@thomasyenner2499 I'm 6'3" and the top door would make impossible for me to not hit my head all the time. I like the side swing. Plus the door was very solid feeling...However, I'd sacrifice the small size for good gas mileage. But I'm going bigger with the same or better mileage...
How is it a "con" that the Subaru XV is a whole category higher / better? That should be a pro. That's like saying it's a con to a Camry that it's not the same size as a Corolla...
It’s a pro or con depending on what you’re looking for. Many shoppers in this segment claim they want the size of the subcompact
Nice little vehicle.
Two words of why this car sells: Sales Incentives
runforit420 bingo
I have a 2018 se I get 32 to 35 on the hwy and 23 to 27 combined. I live in north Idaho with hills I'm not sure how you can only get 29 on the hwy.
Just get a Fiesta and save $5k. In return you get a more up to date chassis, a better handler, faster, and better fuel efficiency than the Indian built Ecosport
Blake Swan - No. Just no.
Ford Canada is still selling 2018 models of the EcoSport in April, 2019, with $3500 in rebates and a $750 technology bonus. Anytime a company has to sell a "new" car with $4250 in rebates is a bad sign...
This intro reminds of some magic shows
Love that hatch. Nice color too.
11.2 seconds? Geez
Seems to be the new trend. The Renegade, Compass, HRV, Crosstrek, and others are all painfully slow.
Why the hell are subcompact crossovers so God damn slow? Filling this thing up with people and cargo seems very dangerous in hilly areas.
I recently bought a 2020 Titanium. With rebates and dealer discount it was massively ($10+k) under MSRP, by far the cheapest AWD vehicle available in any segment. I agree that acceleration is lacking, although I think it has more to do with the automatic transmission than the actual engine (as alluded to in Alex's review). I know people generally dislike CVTs but I have no doubt having one would improve both acceleration and MPG in this car as well as how fast it "feels". I own a Fusion hybrid and the CVT in it has performed flawlessly.
If Ford improves the transmission/acceleration, adds safety tech, and puts in a standard rear hatch instead of the swinging door in the next generation, they won't need to discount this so heavily (but I'm not complaining).
I love this car
The Buick Encore is sub $30k for most if not all trims. We bought a Preferred trim for $21k and my friend bought an Essence trim for $27k, people in the Buick forums are buying their Encore for less than $30k so it does compete with this vehicle. Value for money the Encore is the best vehicle in this class for sub $30k subcompact CUV.
I would feel better about this vehicle if they hadn't screwed up the name. They have EcoBoost engines but then want to call this the Echosport. Consistency Ford Consistency!
MLosUno , I thought the same as you. Ford’s explanation is that the pronunciation difference is to distinguish the vehicle EchoSport from the Eco-boost engine. Going further, they explained that the EchoSport may or may not be an Eco-boost model.
Looking at this entire mess of a vehicle, the pronunciation difference is the only thing that makes any sense to me whatsoever. And I’m a Ford guy who loves his fully loaded and tuned Titanium Hatchback.
Thomas Yenner I've got a Titanium hatchback too. It's great! Except for the stupid PowerShift transmission. Ford has been making a lot of good moves with some really stupid slip ups over the last few years.
Gave a thumbs up just for the cheesy echo joke
That hatch is a dealbreaker.
166 hp but needs 11.2 sec to 60 wtf - and then there is another engine that's more than 40 hp weaker… 1.0l engine in a car this heavy and tall is completely out of place, it needs to stay on max turbo boost all the time to move and will wear out quickly. Probably the worst relation from acceleration to fuel economy out of any car on the market too.
Base version and base price with that engine completely useless.
You just made me look up "Ber en liten Bön" on Spotify. I don't know what I expected....
Everyone always tests the top level trim. That is not the most purchased trim and leaves most people wondering what a base trim would be like.
Imagine the top trim without the doo-dads. We are usually sent top trims for this reason, so we can test the extras and decide if they are worth it or not. The essence of the vehicle doesn’t change much from top to bottom.
Tire size is different which affects ride and handling. some hate vinyl interiors cold in the winter hot in the summer. I think everyone should see the trim the would buy and manufactures need to realize this.@@AAutoBuyersGuide
Pricey.
Under 30mpg in a subcompact? My Hyundai Accent gets almost 40 and it’s a 2013. How does Ford find this acceptable?
It's 2018. No advanced safety equipment in the TOP trim?
Anything more than airbags and extra struts is a gimmick.
Alex, what kind of music is this, Ber en liten bön ? it's on your apple carplay
Did you purposely wear blue to match everything in your video?
No spare Tire or CD player??
Please do not humor Ford with the Eco/Echo nonsense. Ford can afford to hire people into Marketing that can spell.
Shave $5k off that Titanium and it might be worth looking at.
Laughed out loud at the literal echo :)
Earlier in the year I took a test drive of this car and I had to chuckle at the $27k sticker price. Reviewing the sticker details, the car content was primarily from India and China. Possibly the engine was from the USA. If the tariffs hit, then I would think the price of this car would also take a hit. The car may be cute, but that is about it. I agree with the alternatives mentioned in place of this car and to that list I would say that for $27k a fairly nice equipped Ford Escape could be had.
Another super review.. you are my favorite of all reviewers as you do a thorough job. Kudos and keep it up. One niggle, however. You often refer to the USA as ‘america’, but pls keep in mind all nations in the western hemisphere are american also. In fact , canadians refer to themselves as ‘north americans’ and the real name of mexico is ‘los estados unidos mexicanos’. Thanks.
Your reviews are great, but I recommend you add a separate category to address safety. This would include crash test ratings from IHS or other recognized organization and a checklist of what “safety suite” items are available.
worth a test drive t/f?
awd with a manual would have been great.
I have the 1 litre 3 cyl turbocharged engine in mine.
I always liked the EcoSport. It seems like a fun city driving vehicle. If it turns out that Ford includes a non-serviceable automatic transmission with no drain plug, no filler cap, and no dip-stick, that would be a deal breaker for me.
I see that the rear door is tight for street parking . They should have the rear glass opening.. Just like the older CRV offered I'm not sure why most manufactures have dropped that option.. ( which the exception of Toyota Hylander & 4 Runner
Gagged so hard at the "echo" HAHAhAHAHA
CRV, Rogue, RAV4 would be a vast better choice just for a bit more buck. This EcoSport will tank real hard for real.
My curiosity about the EcoSport is peaked since Ford is ditching it's Fiesta and Fusion, believing the market is moving in the direction of this kind of small crossover.
I was hoping to hear Alex say something along these lines: it appears the Ecosport borrowed its design from the Buick Encore, because it is the same look, height, and width... but somehow seven inches shorter.
Where's the 'U' in CUV? Can you please show use these vehicles with the seats folded down so we can see the entire cargo area. How flat do the rear seats go? Is the lift over high? I doubt the back of a sub compact crossover will be filled with people and roller bags nearly as often as it will be used with seats folded down for utility.
Was considering this car for my daughter. But with no spare tire, I'll look elsewhere. Why would Ford delete this as an option?
Finally a car the Mitsubishi Mirage can beat.
As for sale figures in US, Kia Soul is the top selling vehicle as subcompact car segments more than 100,000 cars per year, none of subcompact crossovers (all-wheel drive-CX-3, HRV, CH-R, Jeep Renegade, etc) are sold more than 100,000 cars per year like Kia Soul.
Robin Yoo Jeep Renegade sold 103,000 units last year the Kia Soul sold only 115,000 units last year so pretty close
I do not like the BOX look of the KIA Soul do I bought this!
I have 3 cars in mind to choose from to buy.
1) Ford ecosport St line 1.0 ecoboost auto
2) Suzuki Vitara s 1.4 auto
3) Kia Stonic premium 1.0 auto
Which one should i pick????
Ford ecosport st Line, I am extremely happy with mine.
Nice coverage, thanks !
I have been considering this versus an Escape. The reason I am leaning more towards the Escape is because I don’t need AWD. I want the upgraded engine due to not liking turbo engines but don’t need the AWD. This would be ideal because I don’t haul many people or many things except when traveling but even traveling this seems like it would be hard to keep in the road with wind against it. The Escape has a bigger more powerful engine, more room, has proven its reliability, and probably better fuel economy.
The Escape is soooooooo much better.
The Edge Sport is even better than the Escape but the Delta between the Eco Sport and the Escape is so large you could drive an aircraft carrier through it. The Escape is a real car. With the Eco Sport you need a car for each of your feet.
If you're going to buy new (and I have my doubts to this, because a recession will eventually happen, and downsizing will come with it; having to make a car payment with no job is kind of stressful), here's another car to consider: The Kia Niro. No AWD or turbo, pretty good fuel economy, warranty, and price. Reasonable interior room. Some people have had issues with a jerky engine when slightly pushing the throttle, but others haven't experienced the issue.
If you can pay cash for a new car, look at the Chevy Bolt EV. (If you buy on a loan, the monthly payments on it will be too high.) Some states have incentives (example: In NJ, you pay no sales tax on EVs), and there's the Federal rebate of up to $7,500 (if you make enough income). Some power utilities also offer rebates on EV purchases. If you negotiate the initial purchase price to the low-mid $30K's, then after all the rebates, you can get into pricing that's competitive with the Escape, and get a simpler, cheaper maintenance and fueling experience. The EV driving experience is like HDTV or induction cooktops; once you experience it, you'll never want to go back to gas-powered cars.
Michael Ball Thank you for your input however I don’t do EVs or Hybrids. Now if the Hydrogen Fuel Cell becomes a bigger thing then I’d definitely go to that because it’s just as quick of a fill up as gasoline and takes you just as far so it’s equally good for traveling in which I do a lot of. I don’t want the hassle of used batteries, any other mechanical or mostly electrical problems because EVs are as is says, electrical. I don’t believe combustion engines will leave. I’m sure they will try but I think once people start getting stranded or having bill repair bills vs regular gas engines, they’ll take real nose dive.
Good looking? No. feature rich? No. Powerful? No. Peppy? No. Efficient? No. Inexpensive? No. Why would someone buy this?

Hi what is the front door like for a 80kg 6ft pwperson
I'm that size, and it's very comfortable and easy to get in and out of.
It's very short sighted of the seppo pulling the plub on Ford uk
I don’t know why but this reminds me a lot of the second generation RAV4
How popular are the high end trims of sub compact economy cars?
The problem when buying small SUVs is that their price tends to overlap in higher trims to the next higher model.
The EcoSport fills a gap in the Ford lineup but the Nissan Kicks is a far better value and looks better inside and out. Plus its Bose Personal Plus 8 speaker stereo with 2 speakers in the driver's headrest is better than anything else it is class.
why?
alex, whether you can compare accord hybrid 2018 and camry hybrid 2018
I love this car, eventually will buy it but i wll bargain the price to lower.
Wouldn't a prescription for an addiction to crossovers serve to thwart one's addiction, i.e. not a crossover but a better alternative?
To me, Subaru Crosstrek looks handsdown the best option for the money. Yes, it is quite longer than the rest of the competitors here, which may kill the whole purpose of getting a small(est) SUV, but to be honest, how big do u think that 174 inches can be? So... I would just take the Crosstrek and call it a day. Thank you very much
I'm curious to know how the Mitsubishi RVR compares to the EcoSport, and for that matter, to all the other vehicles in this segment that you talk about in the video?
Why didn't they spell it "echosport" if they want people to pronounce it like that?
I'm pretty sure it was dreamed up by the same boobs who came up with renaming all the Lincoln vehicles as "MK(something)" and then told people it's pronounced "Mark(something)".
I don’t get it. Ford just made a worst early 2000’s rav4 for 2018 model year
0:19 Thanks a lot! 😅 I think that's actually the most funny as hell. BTW, great video. 🙂
