The seats do fold flat ,the seat cushen lifts forward And then you fold down the back, I just bought mine on 12/4/18 and I really like it ,it handles very well and the ride surprised me.
I forgot to say one thing. We live in central Minnesota anyhow one of our mechanics is a Ford lover. I called him to find out what he thought of the Ford eco sport Se … He said he never heard of it and it’s been around for one f4 years five years? So to me that sounds really good no engine problems
I just bought a 2018 EcoSport Titanium two days ago. I got to say, it does get around for it's size. While not the most powerful engine, I haven't seen any challenges making it to 60 mph. Spot on with the gas milage, but for what's it's worth, it can be cost efficient depending on how you drive. My most notable charm for this car is it's handling. It can really hit those corners without a problem. My biggest zonk is the back seat space. Me being 6'2", my adjusted seat makes my car a 3-seater. And strangely enough, being this tall, I don't feel cramped inside this sub-compact. Really good for getting around, but I would definitely not call this a family car, unless the family is on the slightly undersized physique for everyone to fit comfortable. Overall: 6.5/10 car. Would recommend for a single person or couple.
My daughter is 19 today yes September 13, 2022. We just bought a used Ford eco-sport SE and it’s the same color it’s on this video. I do not think it’s ugly on the side view at all. Those are the same tires that we have on ours where she bought it from those tires that are on yours look like street bike motorcycle tires. Maybe that got switched somehow. My daughter is so happy with this small car
I Just got a 2019 SE 4WD. I have not seen the issues with the performance of the engine, BUT, I still look back with fondness on our 2.0 Ecoboost Escape....which was a rocket. That said, I have had a very good experience with my Ecosport so far. I have yet to hit the highway more than a 5 minute drive to the big box. Considering why I got the car (I need something that sits higher because of my bad back) I have no complaints. I do like your review and the looks are the only thing that really does let it down.
I live in the UK, I've had mine for a couple of months now, a great little car, what more do you want from a small SUV, only gripe is the luggage space is a bit on the small side, and there's no shopping bag hooks, either, apart from that I'm well pleased.
Great review! Sadly crossovers are sooo overhyped cuz manufacturers are trying to sell a pseudo "Lifestyle" to the Urban dwellers... Which overshadows how bad and impractical they are in comparison with Hatches/sedans/estates... I NEED THIS PHASE TO END xD
I was a little skeptical about a 3-banger even with a hairdryer under the power barn. I was pleasantly surprised with both its acceleration (for what it was) and fuel economy (40+ if I keep my fat foot out of it). It's just me so pretty much all I need in a vehicle
also the seats do fold flat, and most people dont know you can also use that floor piece as a divider when the seats are flat. its super convenient and i wish more people knew about it. i have a dog and when i took her on a long trip, i folded the seats flat with the cooler on one side, dog on the other, then put up the divider and all my gear went in the hatch. climbed some massive mountains with it pretty full of stuff and it never struggled. (i have the ses). wish more people gave the ecosport a chance.
The only Eco with paddle shifters in the US is the '18 SES. No other model got it here. It was sold as the sporty model, with sport suspension and trim. It didn't get the B&O sound system, though, but it got 7 speakers. Not bad, just not as good as the Titanium.
I just bought one of these a few days ago. I think this is the SES. You probably know this by now, but it's not pronounced Eco (with a long E) but Echo (short E). I thought it was for eco/green, but instead is Echo for, I think, Economy. I've not had time to play with mine a lot yet. But I like it so far. What other reviews have said are also my dislikes - lack of good gas mileage, small cargo area, and small rear knee area. Technically the latter won't bother me much because I rarely have rear passengers. I liked your review. But wish someone would demonstrate the paddles!
U absolute fucking muppet, you just said eco isn’t short for uhhhhhh eco, but that it’s short for economy and pronounced echo. Your not gonna make it far in life
I was thinking for honda fit but now ecosport 100%. I saw 2 videos about bad of this car. But bads are not that bad either. Specially here in Canada awd is neccessary. And for me a single guy it has enough space. Interestingly in canada 65% males are single and ford discontinued this car. I think ford and other car makers should rework on their marketing data. More people are now considering small cars and sub compact SUV'S. Happy motoring
Just bought a used 2018 Red EcoSport a little over a month ago had a little over 18,000 miles on it with the 2.0 an 4wheel drive. I traded a 2014 Escape Titanium 4wheel drive in on it with the 2.0 turbo had a little over 66,000 miles on it. It was a nice car an I loved the 2.0 turbo it was quick. I like my ECOSport SE. it’s not as quick as the Escape but it drives just as good an is no dog ( why Ford wasn’t smart enough to put the 2.0 turbo in it I don’t know why ), I which it would have come with a more aggressive off road or all terrain tire ( I’ve got the 18 in wheels an tires ). It has a moon roof ( my Escape didn’t ) the entertainment center is better than my old ESCAPE, I like the swing open tailgate. Lot to like about it, an it’s not ugly. I do miss a trailer hitch which I checked with my dealer an said they would cost around $400 but are no longer available. Also over in India where they have had the ECOSPORT longer that we have had it here they have more after market parts for it. As far as the looks there’s not much difference between it an the so-called competition out there as all these small crossovers look pretty much the same. So far I’m very happy with it. The ground clearance is 7 inches which I read is more than it’s competition.
We have the 2018 EcoSport SE It has a lot of problems hard on gas electrical issues in service for the same problem 4 times. Ford dealer keeps saying it is fixed or no problem found even though the service person witnessed the problem first hand. I do not recommend this crossover go to Kia or Mitsubishi or Nisan you will spend the same money and get a better vehicle.
40 years ago, I bought a Honda Civic hatchback...30 years later I got a Chevy Aveo 5... To my disappointment, it was the same car only with 4 side doors. 10 years later, the Ecosport is still the same car now with AWD... But at 6X the price of the original Honda.... Do I have a point?... All I know is I bought all of them and haven't been sorry.
Now if you only didnl an update on this car and you would hear nothing but issues with the 1.0L motor. Intook decent care if it cat but at over 200,000 miles i'm getting my engine replaces for the 4th time. The motor is trash. I wouldn't wish this car in my enemies.
This is just a focus with a lift right? I have a love hate relationship with crossovers. Like I understand the practicality of SOME of them, but this one? Just buy a car, right? How much more can this thing haul compared to a focus hatch? Probably not that much. Add in your point about the MPG? Get outta here. Ford killed the car and is trying to jam a crossover into the car segment. Idk, if I wanted something to haul the kids I’d get a wagon, but maybe I’m just a weirdo. But if you wanted a baby compact with more HP and better fuel economy, Pretty much any other company has your back.
I agree with you. 100%. But crossover sales are on the rise compared to their car cousins and this is a direct reaction to those increasing sales numbers. Thanks for watching! -Chad
It's actually a raised Fiesta. Unfortunately Ford in North America isn't going to sell sedans any more, except some performance models, likely shipped in from Europe. Honestly, I'd gladly take a station wagon over any cross over.
I get one of these things as a service rental from my Ford dealer when my Mustang is in for service. These things are such turds! C'mon Ford, bring back the Fiesta...
my daughter has a 2019 ecosport. it died on the freeway . 60,000 miles may have timing belt issue. no spare, no jack, no wrench to take lugs off. green slim to fill tire with a compressor.
Lets start with the worst thing about this “car” if you can call it that, it is a F..... Ford! This means that it is worth less in Sweden as it probably won’t survive a winter.

Any actualization we need to know about 😊

I have the 2019. I get 25.7 mpg. Power sucks up big hills I have the accelerator to the floor at 45 mph.
Love my 21 turbo. I'll be at 60 plus on the on ramp in Florida. A lot of issues were fixed for the 19 20 21 models. Had no issues at all.

40+? I’m only getting 26+
How has it been reliability wise?
no maj probs, did have to get an airbag sensor and the power module reconfigured @@confettihunterminus1
I got a 2018 and I love!
My only problem is the sun visor. 🤦♀️ shes not ugly.
I just bought one yesterday I laughed when he said it’s ugly 🙄😂😂 face only a mother could love ❤️ she’s growing on me
The seats in the back do fold all the way flat. The bottoms swing forward out of the way.
ive never had an issue passing someone or getting going on the highway. shes quick if you use that sport feature and shift with the paddles.

I would agree with the speed and gas mileage, but it is a good small car.
Have it from 2020.....and like it stll....a lot👌🙂💯🏖👐
Great little car with the charm of a Honda Element.
There other version of ecosport where the 5th wheel is on the back of the 5th door. What happened with it in this version? Not included?
Yeah Discount Tire said it will be around 300 dollars for a rim and a spare. Rip off!!
Only the base model can have the spare tire option

Also u didnt flip the seats the last step to make them flat

I have this car. Great! Why need more power? To impress somebody? In my car back seats can move flat.
THIS IS MY CAR 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love mine
Its a Great Car...
Love it.. 2.0 L
I think its funny when they call it the ecosport bc it gets the fuel economy of a full size sedan with the sportiness of a shopping cart on stilts
40 years ago, I bought a Honda Civic hatchback...30 years later I got a Chevy Aveo 5... To my disappointment, it was the same car only with 4 side doors.

Should have R&R a Turbo into this model...

That being said, good review as always. I don’t think this is a bad car, I just don’t think it needs to exist. If those two can go together lol.
I agree with you. 100%. But crossover sales are on the rise compared to their car cousins and this is a direct reaction to those increasing sales numbers.

What idiot engineer decided this would be built to PREVENT flat towing behind a motorhome? It would be the ideal dingy.
I get one of these things as a service rental from my Ford dealer when my Mustang is in for service. These things are such turds! C'mon Ford, bring back the Fiesta...
It IS a tribanger
The Fiesta with that hideous automatic transmission
@@gregg9672 before 2015, they had the same transmission that the EcoSport has
Why is this car so ugly compared to the Trax and Encore? I feel like it sits too high and looks funny. 😢
Great review.
This car sucks however.

How’s the transmission and stuff? Do they last?
It's a standard 6 speed auto with a torque converter. Not the crappy dual clutch they put in the Focus and Fiesta.
