awesome my friend, sadly I had to return it shortly afterwards, Asus requires LCD's to be returned after reviews, sucks because I really liked it haha. Let me know what you think.
@@ThisBytesForYou Its fantastic, however the way to make it vertical is not ideal, as the connection behind the monitor does preset only for the normal showcase, so i needed to adjust it and then screw it in but not in the given "way as its supposed to"

This is a great review thank you. I am thinking of getting this for my desktop space but my space is limited. The price for the resolution though! But at the same time I wish I at least had a second monitor and everything else is too big.
thanks bud, glad you liked it. Yeah, the price is on the higher side for the resolution, but you are also paying for the Asus quality (and name, ugg). thanks my friend, it really is a nice monitor, and very versatile, a bit of a pain in the butt on the fact it needs to connect 2 cables to get it to work sometimes, but as long as you know what it needs, and are expecting it you are good.
Could I ask why you would like glossy? I see Glossy as being horrible since it would b reflective and the sun and lights would really get in the way and sometimes, you may not have an option to move it out of the way. Really curious as to your thoughts?
@@ThisBytesForYou Overall the amount of light is the same on both, but on a glossy display you focus onto the screen not into the mirror to the light source; on a matte display the light is spread over the screen on the same focus where the monitor image appears, so I notice the light on the screen even more on matte screens than on glossy ones!

If a PC runs it at 120hz, the Xbox/PS will run it as well. Sadly I dont have any to test, but I can tell you if it runs on one, it will run on the other since the newer generation is essentially a lower powered PC.
well, think about it this way. a game on a phone looks amazing with such a horrible resolution like 640x480 or 800x600, because the monitor is so small, then there is pixel pitch, brightness, contrast ratio, refresh rate.... there are too many aspects to a monitor than just resolution, no, chances are you wont notice a difference and plus, how portable is your 25' 1440p monitor?
@@ThisBytesForYou yeah I get the pixel pitch point. Funny thing is I'd primarily use this at home, probably in bed. I'd rather spend the same amount of cash on a larger higher resolution display but living in a small apartment with the wife doesn't leave me with any space for a gaming monitor. Current gaming real estate at home are already occupied by the 1440p monitor and a 4k TV but both only run up to 60hz.
@@ThisBytesForYou and yeah I suppose the question should have been better phrased like "downgrade in resolution". My current 1440p is great quality for what I need it for but not the best for gaming.
yeah, I get what you mean,... my wife tries the same hahah. I prefer to game at 1440P, but, you will be going from 60hz to up to 240hz, the difference is AMAZING. You won't care about the resolution i think. Also, you will be going through USB C and HDMI, can you do that?

is this hdcp compatible like for laptops dedicatd gpu because when im using my igpu and dedicated gpu it uses the laptop screen but when i connect my laptop on a external monitor it disable the igpu and it only used dedicated gpu and it provides me more fps
OK, you I think are confused, HDCP has nothing to do with performance. This monitor is HDCP compatible, but HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection disabling you from being able to copy what you see on the screen, which actually has messed up a lot of my recordings hahah, but it has nothing to do with performance.. HDCP can be disabled with something as simple as an incompatible cable, but in your case you have more performance when you are utilizing your GPU than your iGPU, which is the way it supposed to work. Your dedicated GPU uses more power, because it provides more performance and causes you to drain your battery more, your integrated GPU (iGPU) has less performance, so it utilizes less battery. You can however tell your GPU what you want it to use more performance in which will dictate whether it uses less or more battery, what manufacturer and exact model number of your laptop?

@@alvinpatrick yeah I get what you mean, but a good example is have you tried to do 4K on a 13in monitor,... it's HORRIBLE, everything is so tiny, you have to change perspective, change scale and things look awkward. Check it out on my amazon affiliate link: geni.us/ExV0vKq
Hey I was thinking on getting this but I would like to now if I use headphones on my laptop will it also pickup the sound of the monitor because I don’t want to bother anyone with the sound thx.
well if you are using headphones, you would switch the audio to the headphones, so you would not hear it from the monitor, so you would be good.
@@ThisBytesForYou ok thx a lot
@@bliksemgiel5991 always a pleasure my friend
Thanks. Nice review. I play Brawlhalla also
yeah its a fun game, I got to interview the team when I went to pax a few years ago, before it came out, such a great team of people over there and thanks so much for your kind words.
Was wondering if it could be connected to a monitor arm, but I don’t see vesa mounts.
I don't see of a way to do that, sorry bud, it would be great though. Sorry it took so long to reply, YT did not notify me of this comment, I often go out an find comments that were not delivered to me.
@@ThisBytesForYou thanks for the reply. I ordered one anyways, thanks for the review 😀
Always a pleasure my friend, it's great to have around, 17 inch portable monitor, it's great. Let me know what you think when you get it.
Can I use this instead of normal home monitor??
yes you can, sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I had to test again to be sure.
@@ThisBytesForYou can u give me a quick highlight like how to connect it to my CPU? Like which cable and all
@@powerstrikes This video has what you need.
What kind of hdmi cable is that ?
which one, I use a few different types, can you give me a time in the video where I use it?
fyi thats a micro hdmi port not mini hdmi
Did I really say mini, whoops, thanks for catching that
Hey there I just got one, and i am not getting any sound fromy asus gaming laptop and using the HDMI from laptop to Micro HDMI to the monitor and I dont get that , "ding, ding, ding" sound no sound just picture, when I came back this video I to see if volume works and it only works on my laptop does this monitor take updates or anything im unaware of, thanks for any help
Did you watch this video?
@@ThisBytesForYou yeah I got it working it is just weird sometimes think like I gotta unplug it and plug it back in and it started working had to do this both on my Asus gaming laptop , then my series s console.
yeah sadly thats anything that goes through USB-C, potentially HDMI as well, I have to go through it daily as IT, sometimes it picks up on the first try, sometimes as you said, unplug it and plug it back in and it starts to work, its not just an Asus thing.
@@ThisBytesForYou sorry for just replying to your reply, but yeah it’s wonky sometimes, but just by unplugging and plugging back in works lol … also does your tripod sometimes not lock completely like mine will lock and sometimes if I goto adjust the monitor up or down sometimes it’ll just Slide down some, you know what I mean like the mechanism is loose which it sort of is on mine is yours like that? Thanks
yeah, USB C is odd like that, no worries, as for the tripod, its not the greatest either, but it works. Sorry bud ;)
One question how many hz does de hdmi gives ?
it does 240hz over hdmi as well
@@ThisBytesForYou really do you has see that ?
@@memmem7215 sadly I don't for Monitors, they have to be sent back to Asus, I am not sure but I might have shown it in this review, sorry I don't remember off of the top of my head.

is this hdcp compatible like for laptops dedicatd gpu because when im using my igpu and dedicated gpu it uses the laptop screen but when i connect my laptop on a external monitor it disable the igpu and it only used dedicated gpu and it provides me more fps

Can you wake online clases in this?
Have you watched the video?
@@ThisBytesForYou yes
@@Roger.delacruz so what do you think, how would your online classes work out?
Seriously did not need to do the re-unboxing.
seriously did not need to comment, you didn't like it but scroll down, you are the only one that complained. Seriously, scroll down and read the comments and ask yourself "Man, should I have said that?"
@@ThisBytesForYou I did as you suggested, but I didn’t anyone praising you for the unboxing portion. Maybe I could have said it in a nicer way, but basically I stopped watching after the unboxing because the video was so slow paced. I mean you don’t have to take things so personally. Even the fact I commented at all increases your engagement stats. I’m actually giving you constructive feedback. Maybe not as polite as you would like, but at the beginning you even admit that reshooting the unboxing saps all the energy out. I’m agreeing with on that point.
did not take it personal at all, but you have to remember, not everyone is you, many people like the level of detail I take, others don't, you can't please them all. Scroll down, people "great review!", "Keep the great work someday you will be have millions subscribers", "This is a great review thank you. I", "Awesome stuff", "I love it.", "Excellent review 👍👍👍👍", "Thanks. Nice review. I play Brawlhalla also", "Nice review" and nothing negative at all, they praise the review, and while they did not praise the unboxing, on other unboxing videos, I have gotten the praise, at the same time I have gotten the negative comment, which like with you, my reply was equally negative, don't get upset when I give what I get.
Many people love the fact that I include chapters in my videos, in case I get boring, so that they can move on to a different portion of the video. It does sap the energy, and I don't like to , but I feel like I should so that you know everything that comes out exactly. You twice comment that you should have been nicer, please don't try to place the guilt over to me, I don't feel guilty, I am adding to the engagement and to the fact that i reply to all my comments.
Had you said, "Dude, you were right, you sapped the energy out of the review, while I wanted to watch more, I couldn't'" that is constructive. because you told me you didn't like it, and you said why you didn't like it, I could do something with that, "Seriously did not need to do the re-unboxing." I did all I could with that comment. what would you have done? Would you have handed me a rose and said, well thank you for no information, I found it very informative or would you have told me to F off?
@@ThisBytesForYou OK. I guess everything you churn out is solid gold. Best of luck to you.
