I bought this adapter, Xone SE for my Xbox Elite 2 controller, after watching this video. Really wishing I didn't now. First thing I tried was the firmware upgrade. I tried on a MacBook, and two Windows machines, and could not get that to work on any configuration. So I decided to move on and just get it to work, the same as shown in this video. Not sure what magic steps I've missed but it certainly does not work for me as it does in this video. I've attached the adapter, set the switch to NS for my Nintendo Switch. No device is recognized.
Feeling basically like I've just bought a plastic brick. Doesn't pair, doesn't upgrade, doesn't work.
I know this is late, but maybe it's not too late to help you feel sort of justified. To update the controller the device has to be connected a controller and the bottom port has to be wired to the PC with the controller connected. Afterwards pairing is mostly straight forward on console.... just takes a hell of a while. On Switch and hold the pairing button (three curved lines) until the light starts flashing red and blue. I don't know if it was necessary but I held the bumpers down until the Switch recognized the controller.
PC is a buggy mess, wired everything works great... but wireless in either NS or PS mode the polling rate drops to 150hz. I did initially changed the polling rate on my OS to 1ms and got the controller to about 200hz, but it still wasn't great. What I ended up doing was writing a script to dump the firmware of the device and discovered its a mess too. Did some tweaking and repacked as an update and its... functional but still not great. My advice for PC is to just play wired

Are there any other steps to the setup for the first time? I just got mine and tried what you explained, but the switch never found my elite series 2 controller. I then plugged it into my laptop and updated the firmware, but I still wasn't able to connect to the switch afterwards.
For me, none. just plugged in and worked. email Brook they are very helpful if you are still having issues.
@@CTAtechdesk I just used the pairing button on the Brook adapter (furthest button to the right) and the indicator alternated flashing blue and red for a few seconds, then the switch found it. Now it connects the same way you showed, just a touch of the xbox button.

How does it feel over time? I read some reviews about latency issues and trouble with it staying connected? Any issues to report after a decent amount of use?
Yeah the adapter is nice but it`s almost as expensive as the pro Controller
I just got this device, updated it, got it to connect to my Xbox Series X series II controller and it constantly disconnects.
I am able to connect with ease as you do in the video. My elite controller is not working on the switch although it is connected. None of the buttons respond. The xbox button is still flashing and the controller vibrates every 3 seconds or so. Any advice?
My controller connects however the xbox button stays flashing and wont let any of my buttons work ive connected this controller before and now it wont work
You find a solution all mine does is shows its connected and I cant press any buttons.
Either of you find a fix for this? Mine is doing the same. Shows connected, but buttons aren’t functional.
@@judychop apparently you're supposed to go to your update firmware on your controller and then downgrade your firmware or something. Then try to install the update from the provided link from the product. I'd email them they responded pretty quickly I have not tried this method. But lemme know if you find anything.
5.17.3202 is the current firmware on my Elite 2 so maybe this is the buttons not responding problem.
If you follow the above directions, you can revert the Elite 2 to firmware version 4.8.1908.0 and it will now work as intended on the Nintendo Switch.

I just bought one of these and an elite series 2 because i couldn't find a real answer on how well the gyro worked.
Well as part of my self imposed challenge to beat inner agent 3 (splatoon 2's hardest boss) with as many controllers as i can. I bought one. And i can totally confirm high level splatoon play is totally viable, and the gyro works just as good as the ns pro and the ds4
I hate to inform. But this adapter does not work as well for PC. In switch mode it cuts in and out and doesn't calibrate with steam, and in ps4 mode the gyro is non-existent. Really disappointed. Still works great for switch but is NOT viable as a way to bring the gyro to PC

@@soyborne.bornmadeandundone1342 yeah this adapter works perfect for just the switch, gyro feels just as good as the first party switch and ps4 (i have a few other adapters too XD)
@@Downfallx360 Great news. Lol thank god for adaptors because I truly feel that xbox has the best controller with that elite 2 model. My only complaint about the xbox elite is I prefer the sony style d pad. But I got that 8bitdo thingy to use a ps4 controller on the switch. So I'm set once I get all this stuff. I'll be able to play any switch title comfortably now.
And I'm pretty picky lol. I'm turning into one of those dudes who NEEDS back paddles on the back of my controller. At least for games that have a bunch of button commands. I can live with controllers that don't have back paddles on simple side scrollers and what not but a game as big as breath of the wild or last of us 2 or witcher 3 kind of demands a decent controller experience to truly make the player one with the game.
Lol I'm a huge fan of adaptors. Even for old school stuff. DOA3 the fighting game on xbox is my fav from that franchise. Sad to say though... The xbox d pad sucks in my opinion. ESPECIALLY the d pad that they made you play with back in 2001 on that old fat xbox controller lololol. It sucked. But thanks to adaptors I was able to enjoy the game with a ps2 controller and simply because of that, It's my fav fighting game ever made.
Would you get banned playing apex with this since you could technically program buttons to double tab
How's the input lag? Considering it but I'll be playing some fighting games so I can't mess around with any input lag.

Are you able to use the shift key function on the switch as I use that function to play games one handed
it kind of looks like it takes quite a bit of space at the bottom of the controller. does it bother you? I think that might be my main concern about getting this attachment. I do appreciate the video.
How could something bother you that is 100% not in the way at all. Its obvi plastic so it extremely light.
The button mapping button on the xbox one elite - does that work too if you have your presets saved to change on the quick. Or does that not get recognized?

Hey I just bought this because of your video! It looks so simple. Yet when I received the package and plugged it in, it synced with the controller on screen, however I can use my elite as none of the buttons work I can’t leave the grip change screen. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Yeah I did check for updates. In the process of over locking my controller I learned the actual delay time for the elite controller is only 2-4 ms. So, it’s almost not worth the effort of all of this just to get 1 or 2 ms of reaction time. I can see how 8 -10 ms could make a difference but 1-2 seems pretty insignificant lol unless I’m reading the stats wrong? Let me know :)
Does it support all of the buttons that'd normally be on the Switch somehow, like the screenshot/share button and + and - buttons?

What does the cable that runs from the adapter to the USB at the top of the controller do?
You need to plug that in for it to work. I don’t know the specifics, but most likely power

I get that. For me the Elite 2 is far superior, but if you don’t have one, yeah, a pro controller is a good choice 👍🏻

i wish mine worked like that , tried the plug and play and the pairing methods with the button on the bottom right , literally just blinks and never connects
Ive gotten the switch to find the controller , but the xbox button still just flashes and no inputs work , the switch just finds the controller but nothing actually inputs , and the flashing xbox button i guess means its not really connected , just pops up on the pair window on switch and thats it , so confused , so annoyed , pls help

so im having a hard time setting up my controller to my switch. the adapter is connected properly to the switch but the controller blinks and vibrates and doesn't connect to idk the adapter? is frustrating the hell out of me
Hmm, OK, have you followed the connection process? May be worth making sure that in the settings “pro controller wired connection: is set to ON.

Just plug it into the switch once, then unplug it and when the controller powers off turn it back on and it should be totally synced.
If for some reason plugging the adapter/controller into the switch doesn't sync it, the switch on the bottom of the controller adapter might not be right (it has 3 settings) or you need to turn on wired controllers in setting on the switch
@@Downfallx360 this didnt work for my elite 2 controller at all. I had it connected to the station for a bit. It turned off all it does is simply show connected to my switch but I cant press any damn buttons.

Can I use an 8bitdo adapter to connect the Elite 2?
Nope because elite 2 uses BLE which the 8bitdo can't connect with
get the 8bitdo wireless adapter 2, that one work with Elite 2, have tried, but the elite 2 need to be update its firmware

There's a different adapter made by the same company for the Series 1 controller.
Elite series 1 has micro usb, so you need the alternative model of the Brook X One Adapter SE

@@QuickResumePodcast I tried this but after messing around with plugging the thing in and firmware upgrade and playing with it I got a deal on a power A fusion pro wireless controller for switch and it was much easier setup and use. I returned this back to amazon.
