  • This video highlights the removal of a stereo from a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. This is preparation for a Chinese unit I will be installing at a later date. The unit currently installed in the video was not the factory unit that came with the car.
My sonata does not have the premium sound, or the 6 disc changer.

Sorry for the delayed response...I received the radio from China. Nothing but trouble. The radio software functioned fine, but the screen would not lower to access the CD drive. After a looong dispute with the seller, he agreed to take it back if I paid the return shipping, and they wanted to deduct money for the shipping they paid. The included warranty was they would pay return shipping if the item arrived "DOA". I guess the Chinese have a different definition. Although the device was "defective on arrival", and the motor that worked the screen was "dead on arrival", the unit was not "DOA" according to the seller. I filed a Paypal dispute, and ultimately agreed to pay to have it shipped back to their California address, even though I feel it arrived DOA. The old system was put back in. Lesson learned.

Sorry guys - I bought it and regretted it. Sound was terrible even compared to the original unit firstly, After a while, the unit will hang and a green screen appears. I figured out to reset it, you will have to unplug and plug back the fuse. But then, all your settings will disappear, so you will have to reset it again. I got the supplier to send a replacement one, it worked longer (sound was still terrible) before that green screen appeared again! After much dispute with the supplier, I threw my hands in the air, paid for the freight for both "faulty" units, and want my refund back. Oh yes, credit where credit is due, the GPS on the unit is pretty good. Stay away guys!!!

I would recommend using Crutchfield.com they throw in all the wires and proper housing you need with almost any radio you buy with Any car.

The important thing is that you get one that will fit a Double DIN opening. The problem with some of these Chinese head units is they claim to be Double DIN, but you may need to trim a little of the plastic from the adapter to get it to fit. Hope this helps.

gabytzufarcas1 an official 6.2", some of the cheap Chinese ones are actually a tad bit bigger if they have a big bezzle it turns out a little bigger than 6.2".. I'm dealing with/struggling to figure out the wiring on my unit with no sound.. it's very frustrating..
