    Great video, thanks. I have an '08 Sonata, thinking of removing my radio as well & putting in one of these screens. I like that you added all the products you used in the description, quality youtuber!

    Hey guys if you have a '06 to '08 sonata and that radio Is a little to expensive. Try the P. L. Z. MP 800 works really well and budget friendly under 100 dollars. And comes with rear 720p backup camera. Anyways thanks for the installation guide!

    I am going to replace my original stereo in 2007 sonata, do I have to have the harness?

    • @jptheinstallguy
      @jptheinstallguy  2 года назад

      You can hardwire if you want but it's easier with the harness.

    What kind of radio did you replace it with.I am wanting to change mine but not sure if there is a size etc. I have the 2008 Sonata. What about speakers my problem is the volume button on the radio does nothing the controls on the steering wheel adjusts volume etc. than the speakers or maybe the antenna makes the radio go in and out. I would appreciate anything you can tell me

    I've got a 2008 hyundai sonata and got it out to notice there's two stock harnesses, one with 4 wires and the other with a bunch since there's 8 speakers and the wires don't match any schematics but it's all stock. All stock wires are solid with 2 grey dots. And the small harness has a maroon, black, green, white wires. I'm so confused.

      From what I've found online the radio's turn on lead has to go to the car's pink/black wire for the amp. I have a low volume issue after changing the radio. All speakers work, it just isnt loud. Maybe mine has an amp too. It's not the infinity system though.
      Edit: I found my low volume issue. The wiring adapter I ordered had a black box inline with the speaker wires. This black box was full of resistors and capacitors, and was limiting output. I guess it was made for Sonatas that have a factory amp(mine doesn't). I removed the box and connected the wires and it's loud as Hell now. I don't know why Crutchfield gave me this adapter when I checked the box for "without factory subwoofer".
      Hopefully this can help anyone else who runs into this issue. I couldn't find anything about this exact issue online. It was frustrating me to no end.

    The only problem I have is the radio will not go back far enough. It's a gap in the top of the dash kit. I'm putting a double din radio.
