Thank you for this video, I love Opium. Some time ago, I managed to buy an unopened bottle of EDT from 2004. Everything was great for the first 2 months, and despite storing it in appropriate conditions, the top notes have now almost disappeared, and the scent becomes linear after 15 minutes. That's the charm of vintage, time for another hunt. :(
I just opened my 1995 sealed bottle of the EDT and holy cow is it strong! it has not spoiled at all either 🤯 this stuff is nuts!! I can't believe its from 1995 and still smells as good as it does!
Hello, how does the bottom of the box look, is it red writing saying Sanofi ? i want the 1995 one but im not 100% which one i need to be getting, please let me know how to identify the same one as youve got, cheers
@@JayMagnifique I have a splash EDT from '95. My bottle have gold written "Yves Saint Laurent Parfums Corp" and have a short batch code starting with 5(the year of production).
I don't think you need to find the oldest bottle possible. Just pay attention to the box. If it is written Opium with red on a gold circle you should be good.
When YSL transitioned to L'Oréal you could find sales on old stock everywhere. I grabbed 2 refills of EdP for 15 euros each as the retail chain Douglas was closing operations in France too. Best bargain ever.

Great video. I belive there used to be refills sold alone. My container is from 2001 and inside there is a refill from 2011. But didn't seen them for a while.

Hello mate, Can i just ask, does this vintage opium EDT say 'Sanofi' at the bottom. I really want the 1995 one, just need to know if it says sanofi at the bottom of the box, as this will identify if its the first one, many thanks

Great review I have a ? for you or if anyone cane tell me what are the differences in the two plastic cases Blue/black .i did notice yours is in a blue case i own and got lucky to grab the EDP as well but mine is in a Black slip cover case so what yr is the black plastic slip cover version? can anyone answer this for me i would really appreciate it

hahaha....i loved your video. I am another madman of the original aroma of opium. I used it in the year 99, is it possible that old opium has a smell of incense sticks when it dries? Or is it a false memory of mine. I can't find that in the current edt anymore

I adore Opium pour homme - it’s the only fragrance marketed to men that I wear. I can’t even remember how I came across it. I wish I could find an original or even an edp without spending $300. 😬

Hello, Raffi. How is the batch code represented on the vintage box you opened in this video? Is it punched into the paper or is it in gold text? How many digits are in the batch code? I appreciate your time very much and any assistance you wish to give. Best to you and yours.
Hey dude, it's a 4 digit code punched in to the bottom of the box. The bottle inside has the batch code (with an extra digit, usually a 1) in gold text on the sticker. Hope that confuses you 🤣
