I like this guy’s personality, he’s just one of those guys you can’t not like, but c’mon… integrity my dude, guys aren’t out there Sunday driving these things. It’s still way cheaper to just get two batteries maybe even three. how long before I recuperate my money from that? Couple years? Batteries these days last 4-5 years easily, I can get a pair of 4s 6500mah for like $80x3 sets=240 / 3years (let’s be unfair to lipos)= 80$/year. How much is a 1 year supply of nitro at $20/quart? I’m just saying the whole refuelling argument is completely illegitimate. Lipos are WAY easier to switch out, and cyclone fans mean no cooling off period. I demand a retraction! That’s on 1/5 scale BTW… don’t get me wrong. I love nitro I respect it but Nitro guys are the biggest liars.
The reasons you state that nitro is cooler than electric are valid for sure, but brushless electric is my choice for better than nitro.... It's sort of like classic muscle cars vs the new muscle cars (Camaro, Mustang, Challenger/Charger) the old ones are cooler, but the new ones are better.
Both nitro rc and electric rc are fun and enjoyable. But I prefer electric rc over nitro rc. I used to own a couple of nitro rc before. But I do not own them no more. I love the loud screaming engines the speed playtime smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe and the enjoyment of playing with them. But the biggest fatal flaw that they suffer from is that they extremely hard to work with. And they are finicky. I use to get extremely frustrated with them. Nitro rc is more of a expert type hobby grade rc. There are people out there that have better experience with them. That is why I get rid of mine cause they where just obnoxious. That is why I prefer electric rc more than nitro rc. They are ultra easy to work with but they are less extremely frustrating and finicky. I have more of a better experience with electric rc than nitro rc. Electric rc is more of a ultra easy hobby grade rc. While nitro rc is a expert hobby grade rc. You have to have more patience with nitro rc. Like I said nitro rc and electric rc are fun and enjoyable. But electric rc is always 100% better than nitro rc. I will never got back buying another nitro rc never again. Since they are extremely hard to work with.
It is about skill, and the challenge of keeping a nitro running well. Electrics will get a little boring, then you move on to nitro, then you so deep you willing to spend $1000 on a gas/petrol rig. Slippery slope.
Traxxas being one of the RARE Few with Reverse. Most do not. Not ALL have Metal Gears either. Some engines are Easier to Tune than Others. Example: Losi Aftershock, was set it and Forget it. Mugans were Constant tuning. You can Gear them just like Electric to get higher speeds but yes at the cost of low end, Unless you have a Two Speed which not all had. Cost of Constantly having to Buy Fuel, where if you don't live next to a Hobby Shop, you are forced to buy Quarts Over the Net at a Higher cost, since they say that they can Not send Gallons over net. 1 quart 8-15 Dollars and Gallons 15-24 Dollars.
