@Jonah Stafford from his mouth and neck dumbass
@Jonah Stafford the way it bled was actually pretty accurate to when animals get shot bt arrows.
I thought it was the new radar-guided surface to air missile Daenerys forgot about.

Drogon's reactions to seeing his brothers die broke my heart 💔
Poor drogon
I can feel the pain he feels I lost my friend and two of us were like sister so I could feel how sad and angry he was u could see it like how fly off the ice he almost tripped b-because it was heart broken too see ans w intness it as well
dragons don't have a gender
@Sean Simmons dragons are neither male or female they're non-binary and they can reproduce by themselves I'm guessing they refer to all them as males because of their names or because them writers just decided to make the males
@Sean Simmons yea what piper said
Viserion: killed by the Night King.
Rhaegal: killed by a poor writing.
How is that poor writing? You guys are annoying
Dany kinda forgot about the iron fleet
Y'all are acting like season 7 was all that but it was just as badly written as Season 8 ESPECIALLY the episode where Viserion died
@@brivaelkl3736 7 was weak, but 8 was the one that finally broke everyone
@@EsotericElle I mean aside from the fact that they managed to nail 3 shots back to back on a moving target... At high altitude... Without being seen... Sure it's great writing after all she apparently forgot about the iron fleet despite them being mentioned in the same episodes plan briefing
Drogon lost everyone....he shoudn't be alone.....a Targaryen alone in the world, is a terrible thing
True, but he was a good boy because he melted the Iron Throne. In a way, Drogon destroyed the equivalent of Sauron’s ring in GoT. He’s the real hero! 🔥 🐉
@Kαяεη Elιzαвεтн Lσρεz did you seriously try to tell me Dany would name her dragon... Dragon? Shut up lmao

If jon didnt try to act like a hero viserion wouldnt die, raeghal wouldnt be injured and they would easily take the throne...
FACT.
TRU
I dont blame jon i blame those shit writers. They wanted to finish the show a couple seasons sooner then intended so they can move onto other shows. they rushed to the ending destroying a once amazing show. How the hell didnt danny or her dragons and ships not see a fleet of ships. Shes at war just having a nice playful fly not paying any attention to anything. Then somehow they land 3 direct shots in a row taking down a dragon with ease. You would think as soon as that first shot hit they would have reacted and dodged the rest, but instead they just continued in a nice strait path waiting for the next impossible shot to hit. The writers ether had no imagination or they were rushing it along not giving a shit if it makes any sense. He deserved a good death and so did we! why not have him diving in the path of an arrow that was about to kill danny or his brother? Almost anything is better then him being killed off with ease by impossible cheap shots. It honestly feels disrespectful and the really Fucked up part is they had the nerve to do it again with the ice king and danny. Would have been nice to see danny and john on there own dragons fighting each other, or may be danny gets killed and john rides drogon and takes out the ice king in an epic battle. Such a disappointing ending for me, if you happen to be one of the few who liked it then i envy you because im still pissed lol.

@@inmatejason that reminds me when Dany and Drogon where fighting the Lannisters. Bronn shot Drogon with the scorpion arrow, but the second shot he dodge it. It should have been like that.

@@pain002 Drogon spend a lot time wandering when the other two was chained during their flight developing phase..
It was Jon's fault Viserion died.
He had no reason to go on a killing spree
Not really, because everyone including Viserion would’ve died if he got on his back, Night King would’ve killed Rhaegal and Viserion in 20 seconds if they somehow managed to escape because there was no one on their backs so..
@@mrbob83955 Dragons aren't dumb. They can control themselves (at least when they're adults) and what does not have riders do exactly
@@Hello-qv2fx I never said they were. Heck, they wouldn't have even noticed it, because they are huge compared to that thing. Not having riders have a big impact on how the dragon flies and attacks. If Viserion had someone on his back, there would've been someone to notice it and steer him out the way, therefore keeping him safe. Jon went on a murder spree to save everyone, even though the other men HAD swords, they were concerned about getting on Drogon's back. No need to be hostile about it.
@@mrbob83955 So Jon who barely knows anything about dragons, decided to go on a murder spree because he knew that that would protect Rheagal and Drogon. And he can predict the future to know what the night king will do. Dragons can fly relatively fast so if they flew away there would be a less chance of anyone getting hit. Also who told you this and if no one did how did you make this up
@@Hello-qv2fx Dude, no need to be hostile, I’m using facts provided from the scene here. So before you get all up in my face about, replay the Viserion scene then you’ll see what i’m talking about it, but don’t be a jerk
Kinda lame, these dragons went out without a fight, just died helplessly in the air from a couple lucky shots. Weak writing.
That's how anti-aircraft combat works...
Agreed but this isn't real life it's a show with build-up and drama.
Well, it's supposed to be a more gritty drama, so it fits with the theme.

@@dragan3659 lol
True
@Daredevil well it just isn't, the books are cannon.
This is my biggest gripe with how the series ended. When Viserion died, it had a purpose, it showed how Jon Snows' fool hearty blind heroism delayed their escape which led to disaster. This also highlights the Night King is to the world and that he is capable of slaying a dragon with one spear alone. But not only that, he's even more dangerous as he has a Wight Dragon by his side now. This not only is an emotional punch in the gut but also raises the stakes in a terrifying and badass was without feeling contrived.
Rhageals' death on the other hand damages the story more than it strengthens it. He is unceremoniously shot down after only a few episodes without so much as the time of day. Heck, no one truly dwells on the poor dragon bloody end except to say that Drogon is now the last dragon. Not only that, but it makes his survival in the Night King storyline utterly pointless as he could've also died there and the plot wouldn't be much different. Rhageal's death only seems to say "Oh nO, tHeY kIlLeD hIm, wHaT a tWiSt" and then we Drogon effortlessly dodge each and every shot at point-blank range, who rubs his plot armor right into this brother's faces.
If Rhageal was going to die, you can't just slaughter him as if he were any other character, he deserves the same grandiose game-changing end as his brother did.
Man, Viserion’s death is the definition of contrived. The whole mission to bring a wight to cersei was done just so viserion can get killed, which is still the stupidest plan anyone has come up with and Jon gets no consequences for indirectly killing viserion.
I agree it was stupid they way they killed Rhegal, with his it happened, and then they couldnt even shoot down Drogon but I think there was a point, which was to show that Cersei had the ability to kill Dany's dragons and they weren't indestructible, they just executed it very poorly.
Agreed with all of this, tbh. 100% accurate
yeah rhaegal was really butchered there.
@@michaeldefeo1439 if they actually executed it better then we wouldn’t be complaining right know, but we are because they did this poorly.
It's amazing they were able to get those scorpion bolts to curve around the rock like that and connect with great accuracy, even though they themselves would not have been able to see Rhaegal.
Bro i always thought that like how tf does a ship see a dragon first when dragons are so high in the sky. Also they werent even seen when rhaegal died like wtf
Also nail three shots back to back than they shoot a bunch at drogon and they all miss
Wanted and got are in same universe i see
so dragon don't even exist if you want to question the logic
@@ottoneiii4353 That is a stupid reply.

@@beanerguys64 shut yo bitchass up
1:29 Rhaegal tried to save his brother and directly fly to him until Viserion fell into the water :((( it makes me cry. Also after this you can see Drogon’s reaction. I can’t
I like that they show the dragons are bonded to each other. It's a nice touch that Rhaegal actually swoops in trying to help, after all, the two were constant companions all their lives while Drogon was more of a mama's boy.
Which would have been so *tragic* if instead of making him survive the battle then just get shot down the next day, they actually had Rhaegal die in the Dance of the Dragons, after he hesitates to attack wight Viserion--who is not his brother anymore and no longer shares the same sentiment.
@@dracodracarys2339 he wouldn't of hesitated since dragons that were "friends" still turned and killed eachother on a whim if their riders willed it during the real dance of the dragons
Plus viserion was no longer alive. He was a zombie.
@@orangejuice8140 but these dragons weren't friends, they were brothers. They were all raised by one dragon rider and existed in a family unit.
Reach
Very impressive, hitting the first 3 shots at a dragon midflight that's hundreds of meters away, while being on a moving boat, with a weapon you have no practice with. Didn't know Euron found the power of plot and shitty writing in Asshai.
It’s because of the bad writing and that they were runnin out of money... that’s why the second one dies a stupid way wich is sad af
@@Brunette_2005 HBO was willing to fun more seasons than they had lol, it was the show runners that for whatever reason just wanted to end it already and rushed it all with garbage writing.
I seriously doubt they were running out of money that badly if HBO was willing to have like 3 more seasons.
I think the viserion death was even more stupid if you ask me. At least a ballista would plausibly make it that far and be powerful enough to take down a massive dragon. The night king somehow managed to throw an icicle about 150 meters minimum in the sky which is way farther than the farthest javelin throw and kill him with one hit. Even if he’s twice as strong as the best Olympian no way he throws with more power than an arrow shot from a ballista
@@RMor66 yeah..the problem is the dragons are described by Martin as NUCLEAR BOMBS ...lol. In the books the dragon are mostly invincible, their only weak points being the eyes or the wings because the other parts as as hard as diamond.. During the war of conquest Meraxes is the dragon that gets shot down in Dorne ( 10 AC ), and that's only because the dornish hit the dragon in the eye.. It was described as ''one in a million shots'' and these motherfuckers can kill dragons left and right in GoT lol :)))
@@stefanciocan1605 yea hitting it the in eye to kill it actually makes sense
Rhaegal's death was a perfect example of what D&D did with every plot and character. Their limited intelectual and artistic capacity wouldn't allow them to run the show with so many fronts opened, so they just decided to kill everyone in the lamest possible way, and close stories as fast as possible by fear of not knowing what to do next.
Why is it so easy to kill dragons in Game of Thrones but so hard to kill dragons in Reign of Fire?
In the books there is only one way to kill dragons and that is piercing them through their eyes and stabbing their brains. The rest of the body is indestructible. Fuck the show.

Those ballistas were so inconsistent in season 8, one episode they’re taking out a dragon with three bullseyes in a row and forcing Daenerys to retreat… the next we see literally hundreds of them lining the walls of Kings Landing and they get taken out by a single dragon like it’s nothing.
A desculpa é que Rhaegal estava fraco e não tinha montador. Ainda assim não me entra que isso consegue perfurar a pele dos dragões
@vinicittus Come on, a flying creature would know by instinct how to prey on weak land crawling shits
..
I know it’s fictional, but it’s heart breaking to see a dragon die. Their cries 😢 also the feeling of helplessness she must’ve felt :(
I came hard
The Night King be like "There's a dragon with all the main characters on its back sitting 400 feet from me. Guess I'll snipe the less important one with no riders out of the sky a mile away instead."
Viserion's death: Changes the entire scope of the threat the White Walkers pose as now they have an undead dragon that obeys the Night King's every command and provided a way for the dead to break down the wall which they very possibly couldn't have done otherwise.
Rhaegal's death: Means absolutely nothing
People wonder how come she didn't show as much emotion when Viserion died. Truth is, she was in shock. Her dragons seemed invincible, but it was killed like any other animal. She had suffered multiple losses before, so she had gotten stronger, but it still broke her heart. She didn't eat for 3 days after Viserion died as she grieved.
After the pyrus victory in war against the wights took so much from her, including her soldiers and dearest allies, the sight of losing Rhaegal was more rage than sadness.
She was angry at losing another child since her heart was already broken.
The paranoia she had of losing the throne she fought and sacrificed for so many years to gain, compiled with the deaths of those closest to her, morphed her into the mad queen.
As for Drogon, he lost his entire family. Who knows where he went, where he took his mother's body, or what Bran intends to do when he finds him.
I think Drogon probably brought Dany to Essos.
* Pyrrhic *
It hurts more knowing that the dragons call out to each other in despair watching their brother die
Rhaegal's death was unfair, cowardly and unnecessary! luckily all 3 are alive in the books!

Visarian and Rhageal are both dead, and then the last dragon T. Lost his mother. Now he is all alone in this cruel world. İt s just so sad
Bilge Akalın the saddest death in the series was the killing of good storytelling by Dumb and Dumber
I wish they focussed more on how the dragons themselves react to the deaths of other dragons. You can see Drogon roaring at Visarion when he dies but its really easy to miss how Rhaegal dives down to try to catch his brother as he falls out of the sky. And the fact that Drogon has no reaction to Rhaegal's death at all is kind of disappointed. Like, these are highly intelligent animals who clearly care about eachother, why not show it more explicitly?
When viserion was going down in pain its heartbreaking when Rheagal tried to catch him or try to make him fly up 😭😔
I hate that they didn’t show her being sad about any of the dragons deaths. Maybe for a second she looked a little sad but my god this was her CHILDREN as she kept reminding us the entire way through all the seasons
Rhaegal's death hurts so much... He was shot so many times.
Drogon cry in pain, Rhaegal try to fly in and help his brother but there is nothing he can do to save Viserion.
man it is such a pain to watch 2 dragons suffer from their brother death
I cried for weeks watching that happen. I thought her dragons were indestructible as well. And she was going in to help. She had no conversation with the dragons on if they got into trouble. I'm so heartbroken about the dragons deaths. I can see why she went mad. Those were her children.

Well she has lost people her entire life. Lost 3/4 children, husband, loyal friends like Jorah and Missandei, etc. It was understandable for her to go mad but it was completely rushed. Came out of nowhere
You gotta admit, the Night King has some good aim to be able to take down a dragon in a single javelin piercing through the vital part.

Knowing that daenerys named drogon after khal drogo, Her husband and as far as I can remember the father of her undead/unborn baby, That he died and that drogo now has to witness all the deaths of his family... It broke my heart because in some way, Daenerys lost her Husband, The chance for a family and in the end her life

Daenerys and him aren't much different, Just that she's a human and he's a dragon...
It's like they just swapped places... Daenerys lost Khal drogo, Named drogon after him and maybe felt kind of alone...
Drogon lost daenerys, Now has to life without her all alone in the world...
viserion's death was very underwhelming for me because drogon literally dodged every shot while viserion was only hit by a few of them.
i understand how he had no rider and dany and her dragons didn't know where the shots were coming from but still, *that* quickly?!?!
Both of these scenes Enraged me beyond return. I hate seeing dragons being slain, especially when they're good dragons.
when rhaegal tried to save him 😿
Let's recap this, a huge naval fleet, with huge ballistas on their boats, was not spotted by anyone, manged to hide, and then a single guy shot the first 3 arrows that were so precise to hit 3 different body parts of a dragon (especially the neck which is smaller) that was moving very high up in the sky, at great speed, in an unpredictable pattern, and was at a very huge distance from the boat, yeah totally plausible, exceptional writing.
my two favorites died 💔💔😭😭
Rhaegal could barely tank a shot to the armored chest, while Drogon shrugged it off like it was a bad splinter.
Jon: GO! GO! GOOO!
Everyone: Yeah, we’re all waiting for your dumbass.
5:05 I wish Drogon bombarded the fleet right there! Right then! But Dany did the right thing by removing him from the range! The way the writers chose to kill Rhaegal was infuriating!
Drogon lost everyone he loved now he’s all alone in the GOT universe 🥺 I cry each time I think about it, it’s so sad😭
Would have thought these dragons are built like Smaug from the hobbit...dragon scales were nearly impenetrable.
Poor Rhaegal was already badly wounded in the battle of Winterfell, big brother seemed happy to have him healing and flying again only for him to lose his other baby brother. MESSED THE EFF UP!
The most soul-crushing moments in the series. My heart sank when both dragons died. 😢
2:13 The expression of guilt, rage, anger and pure hate.
Drogon sitting still saying "Kill me, kill me", and the ice man decides he'd rather play target practice with the Green one flying about. Just to flex his darting skills. And then all the seemingly brainless corpses decides to not kill Jon out of courtesy while they all mourn. This scene is cinematography at it's peak.
I just came to see the comments. I did not wanna see this again it's 2 years and I don't wanna see this again. Paused it in 8 seconds

Rhaegal's death is the result of the infamous line "Dany kinda forgot..."
I feel so bad for Drogon, he was my favorite character in the franchise next to ShaggyDog
I loved how the death of those two dragons destroyed her absolute confidence in them.
And that the Night King one-shotted it from the sky like an Olympic gold medalist, then proceeded to make it his own.... Badass
I felt it when all of Drogons brothers were killed and also, their mother. Poor babies 💔.
Ya know what's even more sadder than this. The fact that, if none of them were female dragons, or were but are killed, and only one remains that probably male. There's never gonna be more dragons
Well, the eggs were fossils, stones before they hatched through blood magic and fire. Could happen again
Super late responds but in got even the male ones can lay eggs
GoT dragons are genderfluid. Daenerys dragons had male names but they could lay eggs if lived enough long to do it.
The writer's did Ghost,Rhageal and Versarion _dirty_ its just bad writing of tue plot if you ask me
Poor dragons, poor babies😭😭
Of all the deaths in the series, these were the ones that hurted the most.

😧☹️
Was it so hard for these idiotic writers to give us a proper fight between John snow and the Night King? Is that too much to ask? And this is the light Battle of Winterfell needed not that darkness crap where you couldn't see a damn thing on the screen
He is the Night's King but sure bud. But I do agree should have been a 1v1 and not Arya.

The way Viserion dies and Daenerys is just like: 🤨
As impactful as these deaths were, they would have been even more impactful and not frustratingly stupid if the show had just received some even half-way decent writing in the last seasons.
Remember when killing a dragon was actually difficult?
Seeing these two deaths side-by-side just highlights how absolutely cheap Rhaegal's death was.
Viserion's death was powerful and meaningful. After seeing Daenerys be an unstoppable Mary Sue for two seasons, it suddenly made her vulnerable again. It made her compelling again as it shows that the dragons aren't just siege engines, they're her children, basically. And it has serious consequences for the story and for the characters, as the Night King gained a powerful weapon to use as his own, adding an extra layer of tragedy onto her being forced to battle her own dragon-child turned undead monster.
Rhaegal's death, on the other hand, comes out of left field for shock value, makes no sense given the context (she sorta just forgot about the fleet?!), and is just forgotten about afterward with little consequence or mourning.
And that's really disappointing, considering that there could have been other, genuinely profound ways they could have offed Rhaegal. They could have had him die in battle against wight Viserion after he hesitates to attack what was once his brother and constant companion. Or they could have had him die in the final battle at King's Landing, with his demise being THE moment Dany finally snaps and mercilessly torches the city and innocent civilians within.
Or this scene could have been more impactful if it was Drogon who died instead (which makes sense that they'd aim for the dragon their enemy queen was currently riding on, to kill two birds with one stone). Imagine her falling into the sea with the downed Drogon, being snatched out of the water by Rhaegal, and having to helplessly watch her greatest asset and favorite dragon-child sink below the waves. That would have been a very powerful and compelling moment to really set up her descent into vengeful insanity: and with Rhaegal the last remaining dragon, it could also display him having a conflict as Rhaegal had bonded with Jon, who is now trying to stop his mother's quest for revenge.
Watching this again and again keeps making cry and break my heart, plus giving me depression.
I love how the Night King went for the flying Dragon instead of the one parked in front of him with all the important people on board
