Many times in the show and the book states dragons are smarter than humans, I think people foget that's a George R R Martin's dragon, so it can be as magical as he wants. Then if humans can think about these things, a dragon could do it as well. Also, it may have a smaug vibe since Tolkien's basically everybody's inspiration, as said by Martin. It is heavily implied that those eggs eventually became Daeneyrs’, as it is referenced that they would “turn to stone” without the heat of dragonstone. When Dany recieved her three eggs from the trader, who has taken possesion of the eggs previously sold to someone else, he assumes that they are just stones now, which they are until Dany’s miracle.

I had forgotten how devastating that scene was; how Drogon nudges his nose against Danny's dead body as if asking her to get up, like a child asking his mother to wake up, and when he understands that she won't, he roars in pain, then his rage kicks in, and destroys the throne, the mere reason for his mother's death.
It's notable that even though he never trusted Jon, Drogon didn't try to burn him, either, for being the one who stabbed Danny, it could have been because he's half Targaryen, or because he saw him as just a pawn in the Game of Thrones. He did what he "had" to do.

Drogon knew that all the pain he suffered was because of this chair.
But thats TV only nothing of this will happen in the books anyways since this isnt the original Ending.

He breathes fire on the back wall, blasting down what remains of the great red blocks of stone.
We look over Jon’s shoulder as the fire sweeps toward the throne-- not the target of Drogon’s wrath, just a dumb bystander caught up in the conflagration.
We look through the blades of the throne as the flames engulf it, and blast the wall behind it.
We see the throne in the flames, turning red, then white, then beginning to lose its form.
We get tight shots of the details melting in silhouette: the armrests, the iconic fan of swords on the backrest.
The fire stops. The smoke clears revealing a puddle of smouldering slag where the throne once stood.”

The sadness in this scene shown from Drogon, in regards to his mothers death, his anger towards Jon and his intelligence is on another level. He is extremely angry at Jon and wants to kill him, decides NOPE. I'll take out what everyone has been fighting for so NO ONE can have it and Jon can sit in his misery knowing this..
But what I think this scene really showcases most of all... is the power of Drogon's "fire". At this moment all his rage, sadness, pours out of him and in his second breath of fire (crying) he melts the Iron Thrown. Jon also notices this as he looks back at what's left of it..
I think this is a nod to the book readers, as it's said... only Balerion's fire was hot enough to melt iron. I think here, the showrunners are showing exactly that. Connecting the books to the show, that Drogon is the reincarnation of Balerion. It is here, in this moment of Drogon mourning the loss of his mother, we (audience) have confirmation...
    Yes, Drogon is Balerion reincarnate.

That scene holds so much to it. The level of intelligence, understanding, sadness, anger, and control in this scene made it really good. I think even Drogon knew that she'd gone too far, and knew the pain Jon had from doing what he did. I think he also understood the significance of that throne. I don't know how long dragons live for in this story, but I also feel for Drogon in that he's alone. I'd be surprised if there's no more dragon eggs, though. As much as I hated the last of GoT, I did enjoy some parts immensely.

“Drogon wants to burn the world but he will not kill Jon.
