The chip is made that way intentionally to clear the optical drive bracket's legs. Also It's not a solderless chip; There's the pin header + 3 additional solder connections minimum, to install.
I gotta ask, why would the installer mount the switch panel on the back? I mean, it is a unique install, but the Xecuter v2.6 has a visually pleasing switch panel with hdd & ethernet access LEDs + there's a switch on the panel to turn off the lighting.
Put a Samsung optical drive in it. They read DVD+RWs & CD-Rs, unlike Thompsons & Phillips drives. Also, score a cheap 18" ATA 100/133, 80-conductor cable to improve load times from the hdd. It's mandatory if you upgrade to a large capacity, SATA hdd. IDE/SATA adapters are inexpensive, but cheap ones have a delayed startup.

Is the clock capacitor removed?? otherwise do it tright now!! Other wise it will destroy your motherboard.
Also you can use some Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the board up.
Like Rusty Shackleford said there are good cables to improve your HDD Speed of to upgrade tot SATA.
Your a lucky man with the stickers that kept your Xbox in mint.

Thanks for the informative and diverse videos as usual! I’m looking forward seeing the video on disk drive repair. I planned on buying a pre-modded one due to this issue with my childhood xbox, but thanks to you I’ll probably be able to save and mod it myself.
Exactly my point ! I always buy consoles with stickers on them ! They always look brand new when removed. Some stickers can take 30 minutes to remove though.... Be warned

Hey would you recommend a ps vita for £55? It's the one with oled and I plan to mod and use sd2vita.
Excellent buy, go for it. I just bought one for $100 (£75), still a good purchase. And the Vita is soooo easy to hack.

@@hedobevibintho I love both platforms, for me hacking my n2dsxl was a bit more difficult and took more time. I love the Nintendo for 3DS/DS/SNES/GB/GBC/GBA games, but I somehow like to play NES on the PS Vita. If you like PS1 and PSP games, don't hesitate to buy the Vita. £55 is such a good price, even if you barely use it lol, here in Hungary it's around £100-130.
Ps.: PSP and PS1 games don't age well, imo. I don't like how they look after 10 years, but there are a ton of nice platformers for the Vita and the PSP. If your budget is tight, might as well go for a PSP, which is more compact, easier to hack, and more comfortable to hold (at least for me).
I have a Original Xbox for $40 bucks at the Media Reload in Burton, Michigan because the controller ports is not working.
So I bought a Replacement Original Xbox for $245 bucks from the Pence PC Website.
You should have replaced the thermal paste on that Xbox

Hi James... I just succesfully mod a ps3... But the next day when i reebot it... Thr green light shows up and after 3 sec the ps dies... What can i do? I tried everything...
