Op is smart on not accepting the parents "im sorry we messed up 🙄" money cause im sure they would use that as a way to make op take care of them when they get older
Op should go no contact with his parents. They absolutely knew they were not being fair and just gaslit him. His siblings are toxic as well. Just go no contact they are crap parents. You better off without people like that in your life
So, whether this story is fake or not, if it is true, I suspect something. The two older siblings were the favourites, and while the parents treated the third child differently, they still went and adopted a fourth child. I am wondering if it is maybe due to the fact that OP has autism ? I know of families who treat people on the spectrum as though they aren't able to have emotions (which, big news, isn't true); maybe they saw OP as a failure, and adopted Jade because they wanted to make sure they had a third "normal" kid ? Just some theory.
Or, since OP had such a great relationship with the grandparents, they subconsciously thought he would get more from them. Hell, it was obvious that's what his older siblings thought.
Sometimes parents just gave on impulses. Like my parents helped my brother to pay for his house down payment, cleared off some of his student loan and pay half of his master degree (+his living expenses during that period as he was doing it overseas) while they had not given anything to me yet. They see that as a "needs" and didn't even think of setting aside some money for me. Yet people think that I was their favorite golden child because how proud they are of me.
11:40 "they felt like I was doing well and didn't need their help." The motto of very unfair parents. If I could, I would advise the OP to not take any more money or help from parents. I feel like there's a high chance they'll expect him, and not his siblings, to help them out when they run out of money. Parents: "We need you to step up and help us. Your siblings can't because they're saving up for [luxury items] and they deserve it. " and if siblings do help, siblings: "because of you, we couldn't get our [luxury items]!" The favoritism from parents is always sad and often very obvious.
My sister “d” always complained to me about being poor and then told me about her trips around the world. Her husband is a retired doctor and mi e was a school teacher and I was a potter. Nothing but the best for her and the rest of us should be happy with the leftovers
So no one was even in the ground yet before the siblings, aside from Jade and OP, were counting up the assets and wanting a 'fair share' of everyone (mainly OP) cut, despite being given the world already 🤔 If you'd look up 'Greed' you'd see their picture
Ya know, for once I actually believe a story on this channel is genuine. Something about the lack of any real resolution or major dramatic twist. Your 2 older siblings are assholes, plain and simple. And even though they're financially better off, they're not above stealing a couple hundred dollars a year from you just for the chance to smirk triumphantly about it. Yeah, that tracks with reality, unfortunately.
Starting with the first time no birthday gifts were bought for the OP it is clear that the two older siblings need a reality check. The parents are pathetic and that level of favoritism need to be held accountable. The fact the siblings tried to gaslight and he isn't letting it fly is a good thing. I hope he records every interaction with them. The fact the adopted daughter/sister sees the favoritism screams volumes.. especially finding out the older siblings lied to her about the gifts also is very telling as well. If the autism is the "excuse", the parents and older siblings are beyond horrible people. It also, I suspect, is they think they are "entitled" to more than they deserve. However... if they really were spending "beyond their means".. then the two older siblings need to pay for the parents.
OP should organize a retirement gift for her parents. Say "Jade and I (combined) will match the average of the two contributions." People who abuse others by enabling are doing it for validation. Show the parents how little the golden children care. Do it right in front of them on speakerphone. This is not to hurt the parents but to show that they have put themselves "second to" last. And if one of the two does step up OP doesn’t have to feel bad if the parents get abandoned later on. (If any this sounds like confirming the sun rose in the morning then OP should take the parents guilt money and not feel guilty.)
I'd go no contact with all of them except Jade and her husband. Don't talk about the past, talk about the future and move forward. Live life to the fullest with your wife, sister and bil.
If you don't want their money, tell them you want their voice, their voice every time your older siblings jab at you. You want them to tell your older siblings to wind their neck in a be grateful for all the extra help they got instead of sniping at you, and you want them to make your older siblings apologise for jabbing at you not just a pathetic oh sorry till they do it the next time…
