It is supposed to be good for congestion. Anything with mucilage is, such as okra, aloe, and any other food/weed containing that slime (mucilage). I have been using Mullein for my husband, who is suffering from terrible head congestion. He said the mullein tea starts working about an hour after drinking it, but really kicks in at the tail end, about 2- 1/2 hrs after drinking it. I mix 1/4 oz dried flowers and stems to 4 cups water, slow boil for 25 min and strain into his jar he takes with him to work. He drinks 1/2 of the final product per dose. I have used slippery elm also. For congestion, I e also found Marshmallow root is VERY helpful. It also is a mucilage herb I think. Anything good for congestion seems to be good for DIgestion as well. So think “MUCILAGE = MUCINEX” and you’ll know if what you’re considering using should be good for congestion and digestion.

I had some problems with diverticulatis , how long time will it take to feel better with this in general? And can i take this in a period of time to heal stomach or need i take it all the time?
It's individual, we're all different. I can't give you a timeframe. Many people take it until they feel better, some people have to take it continuously as the symptoms come back when they stop. Everybody is different.
Many people are saying the same about their slippery elm. I really don't know, I have a feeling that it depends a lot on how you prepare it. For me as always, exactly the same brand can sometimes come out quite jelly-like, and sometimes not. I'm pretty sure it still has all the benefits whether it forms a jelly or not.

i love slippery elm, it makes me lose weight and got rid of my gastritis. however i read online that consuming it daily, might potentially harmful. i want to take it everyday cause i have constipation problems as well. so do u recommend consuming it daily?
Hi. Ive been suffering from gastritis for 6 months. I just order slippery elm today. Was it really effective?
I can't really answer that question for you as I'm not a doctor. You'll need to do your own research or ask your health practitioner. Glad that it helped you so far!
Where did you read that it’s potentially harmful?
@@slimshady4897 did it work for you ??
Hey, what brand did you buy from?
Thanks so much! Will it help gain weight?
What do you recommend for gastritis ????
Hi great video may I ask would you if I kept taking this for gastric acid reflux should I stop taking acv and hcl betaine to increase acid because it burns me as iam already inflamed reason for my problem low stomach acid
ACV is not good for ingesting. Think about it its fermented and anything fermented is rancid, defo not good for your intestines
Hi Zoe
Can i ask what brand of Slippery Elm powder you use?
I've tried a few & they dont become gelatinous! Just powdery & hurt my gut.
5:46 i hope your cat Jimmy is feeling better. my dog Coco is dealing with bladder stones right now.
Jimmy died many years ago, he got a tumour from feline leukemia. But never had any more problems with his urinary tract or kidneys. Hope your dog is doing better now! ❤️
Can be used in enemas too from what I've read. Good for healing internal hemorrhoids?
Correct.. I'm going to try it myself think it would be great
Thank you very much; I have all that symptoms...I’ll try it... 🌸😊❤️
Best of luck!
@Laura cabrera how did it work out for you. And what kinda relifs did you get
@@kreimwarya3382 Hi, It's ok. it's helping me mostly to "cleaning guts" than to activate digestion really, do you know what I mean? my sluggish digestion needs something stronger...thanks for asking.
Do you drink it on empty stomach? Can you take the pill version on empty stomach??
Hi I would like to try this for the first time to help with leaky guts should I take it first thing in the morning
Thank you so much for have providing such good information but it would be nice if you give us some details how to use it to tray other issues
On an empty stomach any time of the day.
Thankyou for your helpful video, I've recently starting drinking slippery elm bark, I have 1 teaspoon in hot water with honey, but it doesn't help as well as I thought to make me go to the loo, is it safe to have 3 cups using 1 tea spoon in each throughout the day?? 🤔
Yes, it is. That's quite a standard dose.
Is slippery elm supplements ok, some sugest taking 5 mins before a neal, do you reckon it could coat in that time?
Does it matter if I take it before or after my meal for digestion?
I suffer from IBS and I’ve found it extremely helpful when taken about 3 to 4 times a day. I’ve read however that it should not be taken with other meds as it can slow down their absorption & reduce effectiveness. I have no idea if that’s true & any doctors I’ve asked have no idea what slippery elm is. Does anyone else out there have any idea??
I've heaes that, too. To be safe, it's probably best to separate it from other meds/supplements by a couple of hours. ❤️
If it's the powder, how much do you take? Thanks....
I'm brand new to your channel as well as slippery elm and want to order it online today and try it for my Laryngitis. I was sick and had to take prednisone for 2 weeks which gave me horrible acid reflux and inflamed my vocal chords where very little voice comes out at all. I have been on voice rest for 6 days but I wanted to add in slippery elm. Have you any experience or known anyone to have helped inflamed vocal cords with Slippery elm?
I know that singers with inflamed vocal chords use slippery elm bark with great success. It should help!
Hi, we have the same issue. How do you feel now? Did it cured by slippery elm? Im still searching for something.
I start today let see how I feel I have always pain in the rib and belly

Ty good to know
What brand should I buy.
I bought some but it doesn’t gel
I bought Microingredients Organic from Amazon...seems to be a good one....powder
I’m trying to gain weight but suffer from a lot of digestive issues….reflux & Ibs. Do you think I should not use it? Thanks for this great info!
I would try it. Look into H Pylori and also gallbladder/liver health if you have reflux and IBS.
I have the slippery elm tincture, is that okay for coating the throat and helping esophagus?
Yes, of course.
Hi, do slippery elm bark capsules break a fast?
Hi dear loved yr video , just wanna ask i m hypothtroid but gastric issues hiatal hernia , can i take this.plz reply
You'll have to try and see. ❤️
I had leaky gut with Hashimotos and the Slippery Elm was fantastic. Recently I've had an HPylori infection and I'm using it again. It's amazing

If you have some kind of bacteria or infection in your digestive system will taking slippery elm get rid of it and if so how long are approximately might it take .
I doubt it, but it can certainly help strengthen and heal your digestive tract. I wouldn't rely on it alone though. It's great for healing and soothing, but not so much for addressing bacterial imbalances. ❤️
If it is needs to be taken separate from supplements, should I take it some time in day or 45 minutes or 1 hour before taking supplements when having breakfast 🤔?
Is it okay for Psoriasis?
Would it make diarrhea worse? Since it works for constipation, i want to see if a family member will take it but im pretty sure he has diarrhea semi often.
It helped my mom with her diarrhea. Her diarrhea came from being constipated creating blockage if that makes sense. She would poop small balls, then loose stools. Overall, it regulated her
I’ve been using this when I’m feeling like I’m heading for a diverticulitis attack. It turns things around. Usually an attack comes from constipation.
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
try cbd good for those problems
@@rainbowtrout9743 you mean cbd oil? or hemp tea?

Hi I just got the powder and made it left to cool it didn't go thick wonder why can you help please
Lol, speaking without punctuation. no full stops or commas. Thanx for this info! I bought SE after seeing some info whilst researching something, then forgot what it was for! So, just took my 1st 2 capsules!
We can't please everyone, and that's OK. ;-)
I recently bought some and on my package it says 1/4 tsp as a daily serving. Does this mean I can’t have it more than once a day? That seems like such a little amount.
Tablespoon with water
It's definitely a very small amount. The dosing varies a lot depending on what it's being used for, etc.
It says you can only take slippery elms for 8 weeks ?? Is that true
Can ww use it daily forever since it has good effect on me?
With herbs it's good to take a little break from time to time. But other than that, I would just follow my body. If it made me feel good, I would continue. ❤️
For those with gerd or acid reflux, Is this okay to take everyday or as needed only like when my acid flares up?
You should take it everyday..
Yes, that's correct.
Is it okay to drink while breastfeeding? My baby is 2 months old.
It's possibly unsafe while breastfeeding, so please do your own research.
What is the best way to take it for diverticulosis ? IAM having a nice thick tea right now not sure is the best way for that condition thanks
I would take it 30 minutes before meals to coat the intestines in a protective layer before eating. Wishing you lots of healing!

I’ve been taking slippery elm for a week now and it started my period. Is this normal because the amount of blood and cramping that I’m experiencing is excruciating but I keep taking it because I just recently had a miscarriage in December so I’m thinking that it may be beneficial for me as far as a cleanser can someone please answer this questionI took it for four days. I’ve been bleeding extremely heavy and I stopped taking it one day and I was not bleeding anymore. I took it again today and now I’m back bleeding.
I haven't heard of this happening, but we're all different. Your body seems to not like it. And I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I went through it a while ago too, and now I'm over 5 months pregnant with my rainbow. Wishing you lots of baby dust! ❤️
Can this damage the liver.. Also if this stops nutrient absorption that means it won't be absorbing any of the food I eat?
For a couple of hours after it, it might hinder the absorption of anything. That0s why it's best to take it away from food or supplements.
🌸 Dear Vita thanks for another helpful video. 😊
And thank YOU for always being so supportive of my work!
Yes..great info! I miss you and seeing Leo. Hope all is well
We're doing well, thank you for remembering us. Hope you're doing well, too! I'll be back with a new video soon. ❤️
Hi I brought the now brand slippery elm and when I mixed with water it did not turn in gel does it need to turn in gel to be good
Many people are saying the same about their slippery elm. I really don't know, I have a feeling that it depends a lot on how you prepare it. For me as always, exactly the same brand can sometimes come out quite jelly-like, and sometimes not. I'm pretty sure it still has all the benefits whether it forms a jelly or not.
@@Vitalivesfree thanks for reply I brought now brand capsules do you think they are good witch brand do you use
